Sup man, met you there on Monday. I saw you rolling out on that thing and wondered what was the story 😆 I found the sf v2 is kinda the goldilocks of this bike. You get the comfort, but also the leverage with the bars. You gotta deal with the wind tho and blah, blah. Anywho, hope 2 cu at the ridge again 🤙
@electric_boogaloo4964 ай бұрын
899 owner also in WA. Have ridden the ridge a few times. I am familiar with what you say about the bike wanting to stand up in the corners. I think the bike wants you to use the outside leg to pull the bike down into the corners, and given how narrow it is, it takes a more extreme out of seat posture to achieve it. I added rear-sets a year ago and with the higher peg position found it easier to hang off more, and it has become more neutral in the corners with more hanging off. If I tried this extreme hang off on say an R6, it would lean too far and run out of grip or drag toes.

V2 is no where near as powerful as a V4. That’s like 750 owners thinking they are close to a liter bike. Liter bikes takes off wherever whenever. If you want a liter bike power, just buy a liter bike.

You definitely gotta find a Speed Triple RR for Nate to try! 2lbs lighter than a V2 only a little bit more HP before a flash but once flashed you get get 20-30whp more on standard pump gas. So it gives you an upgrade path without buying a different bike. Also can't forget the heated grips for those chilly Washington days. I got new a leftover 2022 Speed RR for only $14.5K OTD!!! Got a 6 year warranty for only an extra $1,200 it's my dream end bike so figured the warranty was worth it. Have no plans of ever getting rid of it! He also mentioned the Supersport 950 which is honestly a lovely bike and very comfortable but I don't think it would be a big enough upgrade from his R7 it's essentially a twin cylinder CBR650R. There's also the MV F3 800 which are a decent bargain buy right now similar power to the V2 and the newer ones have cruise control and with the KTM merger finalizing should be easier to service near the end of next year. The MV is definitely just an oddball suggestion though I'd definitely go V2 or Speed RR!

He is coming from a R7. The Street Triple 765 RS is a better bike. It's light, usable and fast. Better handling as well. No screen is the only down side.
@shauns52785 ай бұрын
@@wiwwee1 Power Bronze makes an amazing windscreen and I'd have recommended the Street but he mentioned sportbike not naked and the Daytona 765 is just a dumb choice as a daily. The RR can be had for not much more than a Street RS and a few thousand less than a Pani V2. I had a Street RS and now own the RR. If you don't mind the sportier rider triangle it's a better bike in every way. I'm even getting better average MPG I can only assume from the 1200 barely being worked at city speeds.
@scottyang90165 ай бұрын
Isn't the speed triple RR like 177hp? That's not just a little bit lol. With a flash upping it extra 20-30hp? That's pretty much litre supersport power, I don't know if it's true but if it is that's pretty good if not then you might've got the wrong model?
@shauns52785 ай бұрын
@@scottyang9016 Sort of, it's actually only around 149whp with the factory tune and the gearing is HEAVILY electronically limited to around 60-70% depending on what gear you're in. I have owned a Street Triple RS and have a good amount of experience with my friends 899. In standard Road mode the Speed is a total puppy dog playful but very gentle not feeling much faster than the Street just a lot more usable in town due to the crazy amount of torque down low and Road mode's anti-wheelie is hyper aggressive. It only starts feeling aggressive in Sport mode and feels like a mix between a Ducati L Twin and a BMW i4 incredibly smooth but with some down low grunt. It isn't until track mode it's really unleashed and will easily do controlled power wheelies in any gear. To give you an idea Triumph invited a bunch of influencers and motovloggers to I believe it was Cadwell Park and a handful were people who had literally never ridden a motorcycle before and Triumph gave them lessons and then sent them out on the track with the Speed RR. MotoBob has an amazing video on it where he focused less on his experience with the bike and spent the day interviewing others but I believe 44Teeth, LCR and UsernameKate also all have videos of the event. But yes with a full flash it can make around 170Whp at the wheel with the stock setup and have seen reports on forums of people who splurged for a full system, VERY expensive for the Speed because the cat is located in the headers, and it can put down close to 190whp so definitely making 200+ at the crank once it's derestricted and able to breathe.
@scottyang90165 ай бұрын
@@shauns5278 ahh ok, never ridden one but by looking at the spec sheet it seems like it would be good. Good power, good torque, big capacity and triple so you'd think it would be a good in between a 4 and twin. I guess specs don't mean much until you really ride it and feel it yourself.

My beginner bike was a V2. Set it on street mode for a few rides at first which cut the power to 100hp. In sport and race, you get the whole beans. The downside owning a Ducati is the price and cost of maintenance. Changing oil cost over a $100 if you do it yourself. First service at 600 miles cost me $400. And you just can’t get the bike service at any shop. They have to be certified by Ducati. Make sure there’s a certified Ducati shop near you or else you might end up riding a few hours away just to get it check. And Ducati runs very hot.
