Herman Ball was inducted into the Davis & Elkins Athletic Hall of Fame in 1979. "Only member of '68 Eagles coaching staff to not get explosive diarrhea" isn't even listed as one of his career accomplishments, total amateur hour over there.

1936 and 1940 were, by record worse as the finished with a 1-11 and 1-10 respectively. But by context, they were less than ten years old at that time. In ‘68 they were 8 years removed from their third championship and missed out on OJ. I would also throw out the ‘12 and ‘20 seasons as all time bad as expectations were high and they did what they did in this video to the bed.

I heard that Oklahoma came down with some food borne illness prior to a 1959 loss at Northwestern 45-13. They had won 62 of their previous 64 games before this loss to a team that had gone winless 2 seasons before and went 5-4 in 1958. Northwestern hadn't won a game by that many points since 1953.

This was a team that couldn't even lose right. They were 0-11 going into week 12 while the Bills were 1-10-1 and both were vying for the #1 pick as, I believe, this was going to be the first joint draft by the AFL & NFL. OJ Simpson was the top prize. So the Eagles decided to beat the Lions in week 12. OK, no problem, they're still 1/2 game behind(or ahead) of the Bills. So what do they do? They beat the Saints in week 12 to give the Bills the #1 pick unless the Bills beat the Oilers which wasn't going to happen. So with all that I said here, throw in that there was a blizzard the night before the final game and because of that blizzard the actual Santa that was supposed to take part in the halftime holiday extravaganza didn't show up leading the Eagles to find some poor schmoe in in the stands wearing a ratty dime store Santa suit to take his place. The fans thought it was another cheap ploy by the cheap ownership so can you blame the fans for throwing snowballs?

The Eagles gave out little plastic footballs that day. The footballs were the first projectiles at "dime store" Santa and naturally the snowballs followed. As an Eagles fan who was 3 years old when the "Snowballs at Santa" happened I still have to hear diarrhea from other fans to this day about it.

Just the thumbnail alone is making this video a must watch. And here's a good one ripping on Bart Starr as head coach: Week 16 in 1983 against the Bears. Bart has all 3 time outs at the end of the game as the Bears are in the Red Zone driving for a go ahead field goal ..... and the Packers use none of them; thus leaving only 10 seconds left to try another play and they end up losing falling to 8-8. Had the Packers won, they would've finished 9-7 and gotten the second Wild Card spot in the NFC via a tiebreaker (head to head win) over the LA Rams. I would love fir you do a series on who has zero business being in The Hall of Fame and who should have already been inducted. Start with Harry Carson who was the 3rd or 4th best linebacker on his own team vs best linebacker of his era Seth Joyner. Harry Carson wouldn't even have started on either The Eagles or The Bears.
