“The civil migrants who came and took over the offices, they didn’t even have paper clips to attach the files.”
Dr Akhtar Jamal Khan was 4 years old when he migrated to Pakistan from Pilibhit in India in 1947. He narrates to us his journey on train, the early days of Karachi and his role in uplifting Pakistan’s healthcare.
This is the 4th episode of ‘Witness to Partition’ produced in collaboration with ‪@scentsnstories‬
TCM’s five-year journey has been about telling stories that people want to hear which mainstream media has been neglecting for decades. We want to disrupt the status quo by delivering engaging content which empowers impassioned voices and impacts social change. We are defined by integrity, grit and ingenuity and this is what makes us do what we do.

When India was being partioned on the basis of religious grounds we the majority should have made sure that either get rid of all the muslims now and force them to Pakistan or else even after partition the issue of Hindu Muslims will be there forever.

Majority of migrants were poor, they traveled on feet and on carts and were massacred in millions. Muhajir are not " Ahsan Faramosh", they enriched Sind and the whole Pakistan.
