It's delicious! I make it with diced sweetpotato too and main dish marinated salmon fillet (honey, soya sauce, chili, orange juice, then fried). The most I make it on Christmas Eve, cause we have a lot to do on this day (in Germany we have Christmas Eve and 1+2 Christmas day) and I put it in the oven (yeah, we have but it's rare in Korea or Japan I think). Ah, the most people try on that day "Kartoffelsalat mit Würstchen" (Potato salad with sausages) as a tradition 🤷

Hi! Do you punch holes in it to infuse more flavor into the potatoes or would that ruin them? Thanks for the recipe! Purchased your book and it is wonderful!!
@AaronandClaire2 ай бұрын
Thanks for your kind words about the book! You actually don’t need to punch holes in the potatoes, as it can make them too salty. Just the outer coating will be enough! 😍

When you use Gochugaru, do you use the coarse ground? Or the fine ground? I just bought the coarse ground and I'm hoping I bought the correct thing.
@AaronandClaireАй бұрын
You’ve got the right one! Coarse ground gochugaru is perfect for most Korean dishes, while the fine gochugaru is usually used more for adding vibrant red color to things like tteokbokki! 😍

So.....I had a hunch this would be even better with pre-cooked potatoes - ones I cooked a few days ahead of time - so I tried it today and I was right - if you think this is amazing as is, try cooking it with potatoes you made a few days ago - HOLY COW is it good! It's like b/c they sat in the fridge a few days, they soak up more of that amazing sauce! Ooooh WIN WIN - you can make the potatoes the day b4 if you want! woot! ps. my soon to be son in law said about this dish 'I am going to cook and eat the fuck out of these potatoes!' LOL And the fact my daughter is a vegetarian makes that worth even more! Thanks for this! 🥰🥰

@CosmicVitaminsАй бұрын
Uses mirin, and then adds sugar... now I'm confused. Why not use sake (or rice wine) and just add sugar? Cause that's what mirin is. Rice alcohol with sugar.
