In this video ill show you the easiest way to attach wood to brick. It really is super simple.
The method gives an incredibly strong fixing and can be used not just for fixing fence posts to a brick wall, but in any application when fixing timber to concrete or brick.
The screws used are called concrete screws or thunder bolts. You can hang gates off of the posts when bolted using these.
No rawl plugs required. You just pilothole into the brick or concrete and screw straight in, with the benefit of being able to easily unscrew them down the line.
I hope that this video helped you in some way, and if it did, please leave a comment for me in the comments section. I love to hear from people who gained value from any of my videos. I always respond to comments, so would be great to hear from you guys ! 👍

Hi I’m 76 next month it’s April 2024 now. A female I’m building a catio and for my cats to go out and an enclosed lean-to in my back yard over the back door, with a door on to the yard. Keep cats from going on the streets. I was wondering about how to secure the wood to the brickwork, you made it seem so easy. I’ve watched some other vids, that stressed me out, yours was perfection. I’ve done quite a bit of woodwork but never drilled anything into brick, Thank very much from East Anglia, Britain.

You’ve made a good point, nice and clear for everyone who wants to take up a do it yourself fencing replacement or repair. My choice has always been masonry nails, 100mm for a 50mm timber wall plate, six nails one hammer and I’ll be on to digging the first post hole while you’re still drilling. I’m not knocking you for what you’re doing here, I like your channel, if your average person with any capability to take on a job like fencing definitely needs the help from you as you well know. Back in the day we would chisel out the mortar, dowel it then nail into the doweling with ordinary nails, it’ll not want to go anywhere but sideways and the nails prevent that movement. My opinion comes from experience, and timber doesn’t last as long as it’s fixing these days 👍🏻
