Hey Jeff. Just want to give you a shout out for a video you made with caulking the bottom of the acrylic shower wall where it meets to top of the tub. We had a compression pole shelf in the corner of the shower that rests from the ceiling to the top of the tub. The other day I found the corner seem was open quite bit from the compression and the caulking was not doing its job and peeled. I remembered your video and I missed the very one step you touched on and that was the cleaning around the joint and wall to clean it with alcohol. I removed that stupid pole shelf cleaned out the old caulking and cleaned it with the alcohol and reapplied the caulking easy peasy. Hopefully this will get a better cure. Thanks again.

6:06 instead of making a jig to try and hold level with the boards as you go up, why not make a spacer a half inch shorter than board, set above installed board and draw a line on both sides? Then you just line your board up with the lines you just made. Both work I just feel this is easier

What stops water from getting in where the walls meet the floor?
@lughfiregod162 ай бұрын
if you're worried about the small bit that might get under there, either add weather stripping to the bottom board when you put it in, or run a like of caulk on the inside edge of the wall.

nothing. but this is a garden shed for a lawnmower and hand tools so a little water is irrelevant. Cheers! you can actually use a garden hose to wash it out as needed.

What's the benefit of building a wall out of fence planks over using premade 4'x8' siding sheets? I suppose the fence planks let you build in 6' sections rather than 4' or 8'. But it looks like it would be roughly the same cost. $40 for a 4x8 sheet, vs 13 x $3.00 for planks.

I love this shed design but would like to adapt it . I’d like a lower foundation so I don’t need a ramp for my mower. Is the structure of the shed dependent on the strength added by the flooring system? Could I build shed then make a simple lower floor internal to shed?
@HomeRenoVisionDIY2 ай бұрын
you could simply pour a pad or dig into the ground to make it ground level and a little dirt ramp. but I do have the ramp video coming soon and it is so easy to build I may convert you. the ramp is a lot less work than a ground level deck or pouring a pad. Cheers!

I have framed, roof, sheet rocked, and done finishing work. I have not installed windows or doors. But now I am blind and I would like to be able to do this without vision. I wish the instructions were step-by-step and enough to know exactly what’s going on. I have envisioned while you’re doing at the top for the roof in the bottom in some instances because I’ve done the work. Princess when you say you’re doing cuts like you have a tiling where you cut it to the point and not by the measure. I understand expansion and the need for that 16th inch or1/8 inch play. for expansion, but the confidence I need is not quite there is there a audio device that tells Level on a standing 4 x 4, cause I know I can use a string and plum for some of it and a clamping slide for some of it, that you know of? And is there instructions for your work here in writing where my cellular phone can read it to me and have the extra descriptions for not having the vision. I have damn good spatial reasoning and Understand load etc. I was cited. Thank you. I have not done the outside overlap board or framing I’ve only done inside finishing. All the outside I’ve done is a pole barn with painted metal exterior. I wish there was more description on that. I imagine the old stuff like using plywood and tar paper but I know they use pressed glued wood chips nowadays what do they call it OFB (4’ x 8’) or something I can’t remember. we used to produce the wood chips at Tommy Graham sawmill and his partner business lumber company, can’t remember that guy‘s name. company in South Central Tennessee years ago when we started moving away from producing so much plywood and started creating a ton of that kind of board. I was also wondering why you didn’t just Poore some forms in the ground instead of describing so much about how it sat on the ground. I guess maybe you want this to be a 20 year shed, or be able to move it? Lol at least that’s what your descriptors led me to believe because remember I do not see what you’re doing.
