Most of the forum posts and guides I saw for this car over-complicated replacing the air filter, so in case this is helpful for anyone else... here you go! Here's the air filter I'm using: amzn.to/34Ka9Yu That's an affiliate link.

Thanks for the quick and easy tutorial. I'm getting ready to change my air filter for the first time.

Very informative! I’m glad you mentioned that the Torx screws don’t come all the way out. That saved me 10 minutes of cursing at the #@?! screws. Thank you for the video!

NEPG, thanks for giving us the confidence to tackle this job. A really good, clear and well produced video. Easy - when you know how! I congratulate VW too for making it this easy for us. There was virtually no dirt in the air box when I removed the filter. I still gave it a quick clean with my Dyson vacuum cleaner. I feel better now 😊. Peter

Thanks for the video, very straightforward and to the point. I used the same dewalt drill at slow speed (1) and set the clutch ring to 1. I was able to power through the screws quickly and without stripping any of the plastic.

Great video that I’m sure will help me carry out this job. Thanks. It’s a relief for us not to have to disconnect those hoses isn’t it? As you say, go easy so as not to stress the connections (I bet they don’t bother about that if you took it to a workshop!) Peter

Sorry for commenting on the wrong channel about this but this video is more recent, I get that it doesn't make financial sense to do the potato masher videos but it was honestly some of the most engaging content I've ever encountered and I was wondering if you would be able to do it with the next generation consoles in 2021.

NEPG, I meant to say, are you planning to produce a video on a Mk7 spark plug change by any chance? Thanks, Peter

Question, did you ever remove the snow guard that exists under the vw air filter?
@NeverEndingProjectGarage3 жыл бұрын

Thank. what's VW recommended interval?
@Joseph-eh4rs3 жыл бұрын
Will answer my own ques. 🤣 For GTI mk7.5: Air Filter - Replace every 60k Miles or Every 6 years whichever occurs first (as per VW)
@Milvus8882 жыл бұрын
@@Joseph-eh4rs 60k miles is waaay to much for airfilter
@CreatorDrews2 жыл бұрын
@@Milvus888 I've seen 60k too for Engine Air Filter change, how much would you recommend?
@Milvus8882 жыл бұрын
@@CreatorDrews since the air filter doesnt cost too much i would change it atleast every 20k miles
@philip3235 Жыл бұрын
@Infinite Light Definitely before 20k or at 20k. Mine has never been replaced and coming up at 40k miles just replaced it today and it was well passed due for a new one. Also helps with engine efficiency and fuel economy👍🏻
