What's your best tip for getting the motorcycle on the center stand?

I could not generate enough force on my "kick", instead I held on a little lower on my tank guard then standing a little closer to the bike and doing like a leg press and slight roll backwards. 5'8" 155lbs

@@johnb.3481 as long as you're pressing downward and letting your legs do most of the work that should get it done. 👍

its def easier with suspension on max, i push down with my foot and pull up on the pannier rack, goes up easy

It's also important to have the handlebars square. Any turn on the front wheel will make it harder for the bike to roll backwards.

I'm 5"10, 160 lbs and at first I thought there was no way I could do it, but after going to youtube and watching a few different videos on technique, I realized we literally become like a "car jack" by standing, kicking, or pressing on the center stand while also holding onto the left handlebar, simultaneously extending the rear out & up. It's all in the technique and confidence. 3 points of contact.

My old v strom 1000 Vs my 150lbs took me a bit to get the rhythm down. I wish they’d have put a little longer lever bar. Once I thought I’d be smart and put it up with the front pointing uphill. It was a breeze!! It was embarrassing when I had to get help to get it off!!

I love my center stand and almost always engage it with a down kick similar to yours before I get off, pulling both grips to add a bit of momentum, same in reverse to launch, thank You and Peace3ed

Driving down with your foot doesn’t work when you weigh 130 lbs.

Good video. It took me a while to figure it out. Wish I'd had a vid like this. Also, if you're parked on a slick surface like many garage floors, when you take it off, put your right foot in front of the stand to stop it from sliding.

Agree to have side stand down, also in gear getting off the centre stand so it's not rolling away if you come off the break.

Rather than grabbing the handlebar, I grab the frame just above the shifter. It's low enough to reach with a straight arm and bent knees. I lift using my legs. The whole motion becomes smoother.

I tried pushing down only but it didn't work until i pushed back which caused me back pain, i don't know what's the problem is it me or the center stand design?

Some motorcycles are more challenging than others. You definitely shouldn't be using your back to try to lift. Focus on driving down with your leg. Keep working on it.

On rightly suggesting people wear boots with a stiff sole, you really ought to have also. The bend in your trainer sole in that close up was huge. Remember people are relatively simple & do as they see...you wearing trainers wasn't a good idea.

Once you get the motion down once, it should be much easier. Make sure you're wearing boots while trying it.

I think it’s just Triumph’s design. I had a ‘22 Kawasaki Versys 1000 and all I had to do to get that on the center stand was press down and it easily came up. It is a fight to get my ‘23 Tiger 1200 GTE up on the stand. I can put my entire body weight into the stand and it doesn’t want to lift. If I have loaded panniers you can forget about using the center stand. It’s also more difficult to get off the stand than the Versys, especially with the panniers loaded. The weights of the two bikes are supposed to be fairly similar, however, I noticed a dramatic increase in difficulty of the center stand after having the aluminum panniers, top box, and frames for those added. The Versys came with the side panniers, which were plastic, and they integrated into mounts in the side of the bike. The top case was also mostly plastic as was the plate for it. I’m not sure how much more the pannier system weighs on the Tiger but I have to think it weighs a bit more than the Versys, adding to my center stand difficulty. With the panniers on, once the Triumph is on the stand it also puts the front tire in the air. Without panniers, the rear tire is in the air. My Versys wouldn’t ever have the front tire in the air on the center stand. I believe the balance point triumph has is a bit more front biased which means we’re fighting the weight of the powertrain quite a bit.

My like… 110 lb buddy told me up and down he is not physically capable of putting a bike on a center stand because of his size. I told him, stand in such a position, put your foot on the center stand, push straight down on it, and find a good hold and pull straight up on the bike. In one thrust he popped that CX500c on the center stand in a snap. I struggled for like 20 minutes till i just watched a single video like this. Its alllll about leverage. Strength really isnt a requirement

Wrong all ways leave side stand down you may loose balance or pull a muscle and if the side stand is down you can easily prevent the bike falling ,

We can agree to disagree. I prefer side stand up because it can get in the way. But if it makes more sense to you no worries. I would at least raise it up after the center stand is up so that when you take it off the center stand the motorcycle doesn't soam down on the side stand.

Yawn. Another "easy way to center stand!" video with the same tired "push down with all your weight!" advice. Not everybody is a tall heavy man. Sorry to blow your mind. Maybe next you can make an "easy way to turn!" video where you expertly instruct us to lean.
