If a human suddenly got a 50 times multiplier they still would lose to yamcha and if you used powerlevels to come up with your answer I gotta tell ya a 2x multiplier in dragon ball was not the same as a 2x multiplier in z. Many times in dragon ball did Goku get severals of times stronger from his training and yet his power level probably only went up by 5 or ten and if we did calculate it like in z he probably would of already been in the thousands maybe even tens of thousands

Let's take it a step further, with _Gohan._ Man doesn't have hidden power, he has a faulty fight-or-flight mechanism. Triggering that, would be like stacking another 2-4x multiplier, on his multipliers. Now, sure, a normal _person_ getting 4x stronger from that is a rarity, it also depends on the direness of the situation and the persons' overall level of fitness. Y'know, considering that multiplier goes down, the more physically fit you are, and how used to intense training you are- since you unlock more of that strength, up to a cap of... 60% of your max potential? Take any multiplier, any at all that's ever been applied to Gohan. Now factor in the times he got mad, and multiply that power level by 3-4x.

I thought it was accepted that the amount of power you get from SSJ is dependent on the user and isn't just flat 50x for everyone. Like mastered ssj during the cell games isn't another form its just them acclimated to the normal SSJ form, but that is way stronger than base SSJ from vegeta.

The 50x multiplier is so ridiculous, honestly. Maybe if it had been a flat additive buff that happened to be that big a boost at first, but then, Kaioken x20 would've ended up better than super saiyan 2/3. I mean, for goodness' sake, fights involving these forms should really boil down to who can transform faster. Someone snaps into super saiyan and they're strong enough to vaporize the other dude by looking at them funny. But then, this is dragon ball, where people who can break planets also struggle to lift a forty-tonne weight. Ki is weird. Who knows, maybe power level is logarithmic, and a 50x power level doesn't actually equate to being 50x faster? Bleh. Also! It's so abstract! They have fifty times everything. So like, lifting strength, sure, that makes sense. Fifty times speed...? So if they throw a ball, they're dumping 2500 times the energy into it? After all, speed isn't linear with energy, it's quadratic. But to do that, they'd need to be producing 2500 times the force - and that means they're really 2500 times as strong. It just doesn't work. It's nonsense. Also also!! More relevant! Dragon ball isn't great for showing off how ridiculous this boost is, because the meaningless numbers get big. Give super saiyan to the MC of like, literally any other shonen. Ichigo at the start of bleach, when he's still using Rukia's power? Suddenly he's at least mid captain level. That's only the easiest to think about because of the whole "Bankai multiplies your reiatsu by ten!" thing. Hell, give SSJ1 to Bell near the start of Danmachi and he'd probably clean the whole bloody dungeon.

If you believe in transformation power multipliers in Dragon Ball, then you are basically calling any base Saiyan extremely weak. Some people say that the god form multipliers are in the 1000s to millions times over base. If you consider that Goku needed SSB with kaiokenx20 just to barely scratch Jiren in the TOP, you basically are calling base Goku an ant compared to him. Jiren is that strong just existing, and Goku needs extremely stamina draining transformations and techniques stacked on top of each other just to reach Jiren’s casual power level. It’s such a ridiculous concept to think about. A better alternative would just be transformations causing ki spikes drawing out their potential and better ki control at the expense of stamina. Therefore a base saiyan could in theory be as strong as they are in a transformation, like how Ultimate Gohan with his potential fully unleashed was stronger than his super saiyan forms, except now in Super that is also considered a form as well. So saiyans are just pitifully weak compared to other mortals without their forms forever I guess

absolutely, one thing i find just fucked about supers multipliers is just how strong ultra instinct is compared to blue or everything else in the franchise, for reference the second most powerful thing at the point of the tournament of power was vegeto in blue, Which was goku TIMES vegeta TIMES at least 50! (assuming the difference between blue ad regular super Saiyan is just god ki and not a stronger multiplier in an of itself), vegetos bullshit imfathomable multiplier was alright in Z because we was never meant to be surpassed, but because of how super played out and how the powers work in super, he HAD to be surpassed, so ultra instinct is even stronger with a singular goku, if a multiplier of just 400x turned the fuckin farmer into a radiz oblitherator, and turned a 50 power level young goku into a namek saga vegeta level threat, then just imagine the effects of ultra instinct on a regular human! or even the same goku! it would destroy the entirety of Z, including the movies- the power gaps in super are that fucking huge!

it's not how it works irl, let's take cars for example, doubling cars hp and torque doesn't speed up car (neither acceleration or max speed) by 2 it will brobably increase by 50%-70%, and the further we increase the hp and torque alongside with it the less speed boost is going to be, the same thing goes to muscular strength, if you suddenly magnify your muscle strength by 50 and you are capable of benching 100 kilos you are not going to be capable of benching 5tons, probably 2tons will be fine idk, I guess there is formula for that but I'm not that nerdy tbh

That may be true but i can tell you a fun fact that i do know. I can throw a baseball at 70mph, or 31.29 m/s. If i wanted to throw a baseball all the way around the world, ignoring air resistance and assuming nothing got in the way, i would have to throw the ball at 7909.68 m/s. For more perspective You can also apply the super saiyan multiplier to horspower and vehicles. 150 hp is considered small nowadays for farm tractors, but if you apply 50x it's horsepower is on par with a train! Most push lawnmowers are around 4 hp. Multiply its power by 50 and you get a the horsepower of a Honda Accord 4 door Sedan (192hp). If the lawnmower went ssj2, its power would be close to that of an SS Camaro (~420hp).

Hey Qaaman, I’m a huge GT fan and have watched the heroes legacy movie many many times. I just wanted to let you know that Goku Jr. did have a high power level and had been training. Pan not only saw his true power a couple times while he was growing up but we see it in the movie too. His problem was his fear and timid nature holding him back, similar to a young gohan. If you go rewatch the movie, you’ll see what I mean

Although it’s fun to think about this it’s just wrong using basic logic (not trying to sound like a nerd here).power levels BEFORE the thousands were exponential increases NOT LINEAR.hence a regular human has a power level of 5 whereas buff roshi has a power level of 180 and was able to destroy the moon, the energy and power required to destroy a BUILDING let alone a moon is literally QUADRILLIONS of times more than what a human is possibly capable of. You’re not gunna close the gap in speed and power by increasing human stats by 36 times(180 divided by 5=36).Essentially even if “chuck” had ultra instinct he would still get dog washed by early OG dragon ball. In simple terms the gap between a power level of 5 and 50 is trillions of times difference whereas the difference between someone with 20,000 and 10,000 is only 2x

Then you have SSJ4 which is 4000 times the power, making Chuck equal to 20000, which is stronger than Vegeta when he landed on Earth. They don't even bother applying a scaling power to the other forms since then and call it the SSJ variants Grade/Stage, which means nothing. This is a series that goes by a 10/20/30% power rule. Having 10% more power means you will be at a significant advantage, 20% means you dominate your opponent, while 30% makes it so they never can stand against you.

Fun fact, the kaioken technique doesnt actually boost power level, rather increases the speed at which you can drain your ki(like the size of a dam behind a lake) this ki can be used to power up yourself or your energy blasts, but in turn it will expend more of your vital force, leading you to get tired quiker. The super sayian god also isnt a multiplier of powerlevels, rather converts your ki into god ki, which is more pure and way more efficient that mortal ki

Dragonball is full of bad scaling and terrible logic. Goku with a powerlevel of 10 could blow up a car, but someone with a pl of 200 can blow up the moon. Meaning you need 20x the destructive power of a car to destroy the moon. Do you realize how nonsensical that is? Let's say the power level system is kind of logarithmic, Meaning someone with a pl of 10 isn't 2x stronger than someone with 5, they're in reality much much stronger. That doesn't make any sense either, since at a power level of 120 million frieza should be able to wipe out the universe or something. So indeed power levels are bs even from a mathematical and logical viewpoint.

This uses incorrect values for SSJ2 and SSJ3 from the Daizenshuu that can be categorically proven to be not be correct by just watching the Cell Saga and paying attention. What we, today, call Super Saiyan 2, was originally considered Super Saiyan Grade 5. The Cell Saga demonstrates that the original Super Saiyan transformation has different Grades that each have different power level multipliers. First we have Vegeta vs Android 19, in which he enter Super Saiyan Grade 1, the basic form that has a 50x multiplier as we know. However, the Super Saiyan that we see after the Hyperbolic Time Chamber training is clearly different; it's drawn differently, it's animated differently, and the power levels that its users attain are nowhere close to the same. Yeah, their base form strength increased during the Time Chamber training, but the sheer gap in power is not explained by only base form increase, in my eyes. There's arguments to be made about just how much stronger Grade 2 is than Grade 1, but the Vegeta that fights Semi-Perfect Cell is demonstrably not in the same form of the transformation as the Vegeta that fought against 19 and 18. Then we have Grade 3, which is the super-muscular form that Trunks uses against Perfect Cell. Cell outright states that Trunks is substantially stronger, pound for pound, than Vegeta had been, even though Trunks' base form was slightly weaker than Vegeta at that point. It's the speed problem that makes Grade 3 less effective overall. Lastly, we have Grade 4, which is the state that Goku and Gohan are in when they exit the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. This form is definitely different because they can maintain it without fatigue and it doesn't have a constant aura, which means it's not leaking energy constantly like the other Super Saiyan forms. I presume that, in raw power, Grade 3 is still superior, but Grade 4 is a much more refined state that takes the strength of Grade 2 and removes the downsides of stamina draining and heightened emotional state. Then we get Grade 5, which would later be called SSJ2. Consider for a moment that Gohan was completely ineffectual against Perfect Cell while in Grade 4, but once he attained Grade 5, he absolutely destroyed him without effort. Grade 4 is already substantially stronger than the Grade 1 that confers a 50x multiplier, and then Grade 5, or SSJ2, absolutely dwarfs Grade 4 in strength. There's an argument that Grade 5 is similar in strength to Grade 3 but without the speed problem, though I don't know if I believe that. It feels more to me like Grade 5 is on a different level completely to any previous Grade, and this is upheld by how Grades 2 through 4 no longer merit any discussion after Grade 5 is attained, being skipped over completely in later discussion in-universe once Grade 5 receives the name Super Saiyan 2. Since we stop receiving hard values for power as of the Cell Saga and it's difficult to consider just how much stronger they get, the amount of strength multiplier that SSJ2 actually confers is up for debate. Taking the bare minimum, the weakest we can consider the form to be, it makes sense to me to say that it is about 5x stronger than SSJ1, or Super Saiyan Grade 1, which would make it a 250x multiplier instead of the 100x stated by the Daizenshuu. The actual power increase of SSJ2 is likely much higher, though. It could be as much as 10x or 20x the strength of Grade 1. Likewise, we have no numbers in-series for how much SSJ3 increases strength, but it doesn't feel, in practice, like that impressive of a form in comparison to SSJ2. Neither Goku nor Gotenks accomplish much in the long run in the form, and it's stated to have incredibly bad stamina as well. That said, the powerup scene where Goku first transforms into SSJ3 is doing the heavy lifting, and it makes SSJ3 being at least 4x the power of SSJ2 being believable. tl;dr- Using information from canon sources instead of relying on guidebooks, SSJ2 is at minimum 250x base and SSJ3 is at minimum 1000x base, and both forms could potentially be much MUCH stronger than this.

I like dragon ball but the writing is absolute garbage. Their is no consistency and integrity in their story. Ssj 3 is 400x, a massive leap from super saiyan 2 which has a 100x. That would mean base goku is astronomically weak(er) in comparison to some chracters that ssj blue even barely keeps up with (almost every arc). Which would mean that goku should NOT be able to throw hands in the beggining of the fight (as in the mangas) as anything below saiyan god, and instantly get one-shotted.

Super saiyan is not canonically proven to be a x50 multiplier. The x50 boost is from daizenshuu and has never been referenced or implied in the manga. This would explain why Goku Jr. needed to become super saiyan to beat fodder, super saiyan's boost is more than likely based on the plot.

But I would agree in the namek saga specifically 50x makes sense because Goku went from barely being able to hurt frieza in Kaioken x20 to dominating him in super saiyan. I could even argue the the multiplier was a lot higher since Goku was heavily fatigued.

Numbers ruins a lot, but i think that's why also the reason most power levels showns, are separated inbeetween by a lot of numbers, like Raditz being 3x Goku/Piccolo, or Nappa being atleast x2 Piccolo, Goku almost x2 Nappa, and Vegeta being 2.5x above Goku, that pretty much numbers can be irrelevant if you're not atleast x2 your opponent, kind why Goku despite being 30millions above Frieza, Frieza could still make up a fight, because Goku was only 1.3x Frieza level.

And supposing you're around 5, that would also (or at least most likely) mean, that you'd be able to outperform most feats shown in Dragon Ball, meaning, taking down entire armies and military equipment, destroying mountains, moving as fast as lightning, tanking bullets (while on guard). Power levels aren't exactly linear at the lower levels like 5 or 20, but I do think for sake of argument, Super Saiyan may still grant that kind of boost. In normal circumstances, no ordinary person obtains that form, so their physical body might hit some sort of potential awakened state
