Hi Gabe, I really enjoy your videos of places that I may never get to go. You show the places as real trash and everything. Rick Steves cleans it up so much that we are surprised by the reality. I know you here your videos when you edit them. I know you hear the sounds of the traffic and the ambulances and the loudspeaker announcements. I wonder if we, your audience could hear you better if you were a little microphone on your shirt. I'm not sure that would draw even more attention to you . The locals seem to talk to you and offer you their help anyway. And I learned from your videos too. I have never thought of a restaurant where you have to order your food 90 minutes in advance. Mind blowing. But, I guess it makes more sense than being tired, sitting in a restaurant, waiting for your food to be prepared when you are tired from work, and all you want to do is go home.❤ Keep up the good work Gabriel. And thank you.❤

Big change from when I was there in 1992. Was a dusty sleepy town with dusty empty streets with no traffic and nobody on the beach. Some beaches had fencing(barbed wire?) where you weren't allowed to enter. No tall buildings or resorts. Being close to the Libyan border it had a military presence. But the sand and water was epic. Wish I could post the few pics I have of there. I remember getting a lift on a donkey cart. No other tourists Egyptian or foreign. Gabe go to the Sinai and check out the beaches there and climb Mt. Sinai and sleep up there and wake up for the sunrise. Another epic thing to do in Egypt. Nuweiba beach had great snorkeling and a cool canyon with colored mountains or was that Margana beach?

That adventure kept local food happening too. Cycling around the world: VLOG 15 - ACROSS AFRICA - The Gambia #1. While you may like an 'easier row to hoe', the pasture everywhere does need re-planting sometimes and your exploring does expose some list of possible non-schengen winter potentials for us to see. I'd be curious to see some inspiring growers and grazers being interviewed. Regenerative and Biodiverse happens with people proving the point. ☆ 💚 Demonstrably too. It would have been nice if you showed all sides of Egypt. Not just the poor areas. It’s a pretty unfair representation. I live in Egypt and can assure you that there are many places that do not look like this. Try Sharm el Sheikh, Dahab, New Cairo, El Gouna…the list goes on. This is kind of like wanting to show LA but then only going to drug and gang infested ghettos. Most tourists will not go to the kinds of places you have shown in the last few videos. Most people who live here wouldn’t either. Egypt has a large low income population and in the poor areas there isn’t proper infrastructure set up. The government has built many new complexes and communities to move people out of slums and the really crappy areas of Egypt, but it takes time to move the huge amounts of people and to built/clean up. Clearly this is a part of Egypt, but it’s important for someone as big of a following as you have to show all sides of a country as Egypt depends a lot on tourism. I moved here from Canada for a better life as have many of the foreigners from various European and North American countries who live here. Perhaps connecting with someone like that might help. Or if you want to show the local side of Egypt, connect with a local who can show you their homes, hospitality and day-to-day life.

@sanjasalemcreates2 ай бұрын
@@waitaminute2015 I totally understand and have watched most of Gabe’s videos. Not knocking his style at all. But most places, including the ones I mentioned in my comment, have very inexpensive accommodations. Where I live in Sharm el-Sheikh for example you can get a decent room for $25-$30 and you will not see garbage like this. So many options in fact in this price-range. Same goes for most of the other places I noted. But even if you stay in a $30 room, you can take local transportation for very cheap to different areas that aren’t covered in garbage. I just think it’s good to show both sides of the coin, especially if you’re saying you’re showing the “real” Egypt.

Hi Gabriel, Egypt doesn't seem high on the tourist attraction outside the Pyramids. The cities are a bit run down, all that garage is a bit of a turn-off to visit giving the impression people don't care about where they live. It's a shame there's such an incredible history there these cities aren't well kept, and they don't seem to be inviting tourists bringing in much-needed tourist money. Something you may want to consider is a boat trip down the Nile on the world's longest river.

@rajm26262 ай бұрын
@ageoflove1980 I actually meant it the other way around, lol. I think Egypt is very interesting for travelers but less so for tourists. As a traveler, I really want to travel extensively in the cities, towns, and villages along the Nile and then into the Western Desert and to some of the oases - Dakhla and Siwa oases in particular. For tourists, all it seems that there is to do in Egypt are the pyramids and some resorts along the Red Sea. But for me, I think there is really a lot to do and see in the non-touristy areas there and I'm very excited to visit eventually. I also am looking forward very much so, to talking and interacting with the locals. It seems though that some tourists have had some bad experiences in Egypt with scammers, trash, harassment, etc, but that doesn't actually bother me much at all.
@ageoflove19802 ай бұрын
@@rajm2626 I think its both. I know people who really enjoy the beach resorts near Sharm El-Sheikh and Hurghada. Its great for your typical family beach holiday and nowadays a lot cheaper than for example Greece. And then there is the travel experience like you describe. My comment however wasnt about Egypt in general, but more this specific town There is nothing wrong with it per se, it just doesnt seems that great for both traveling and tourism. Just a very average coastal town, and like I said, fine when you are from around those parts and just want to go to the beach for a day, but not really worth while to go out of your way for.
