Fun fact: Ian McDiarmid, the actor of Palpatine was only 38 during the release of Return of the Jedi, despite looking like a 70-80 year old. He later reprised the role in the Prequels, where he was roughly 55 years old. Harrison Ford on the other hand is 2 years older than McDiarmid making him 40 during the release of Return of the Jedi. @@kalebtrejo3388 Bane would no doubt lose to Sidious. And that was the point of Bane's Rule of Two. It caused the Sith to adhere to an artificial survival of the fittest so that the next one in line would theoretically be more powerful than the last. Plus, we never really see Sidious give his all in any of the duels he partakes in. I think the novelization for RotS said Windu could've beaten him because of Vapaad, but otherwise Sidious toys with everyone, even Yoda to an extent.

The attitude, the robes, the mannerisms. Everything about the Emperor can be summed up in one word: Evil. And this is why there will only be ONE TRUE EMPEROR! The way he was built up in the original movies was perfect. Never seeing him till near the end, only hearing about him most of the time. Hell even when we do finally see him despite the fact he’s a fragile looking old man he commands so much authority that his image doesn’t matter. We’ve seen how the empire acts scared around darth Vader but when he tells people the emperors coming suddenly they go from pretty scared to utterly terrified. The mere fact the everyone is 100x more scared of an old man in a cloak than a 7ft tall half robot monster is scary in itself.

I just realized that it’d be cool if they made a palpating trilogy, if that’s too much then at least a spin-off movie of his younger years, played by a younger actor, being trained by Darth Plagueis and showing his ambition for gaining power and dominance and wanting the sith to return to power. Even when watching the skywalker saga in chronological order, everyone pretty much already knows palpatine is secretly evil in the prequels, and it actually makes more sense and makes for a better viewing experience knowing he’s secretly evil. Seeing his origin would make the prequels even better.

Palpatine is one of those villains who's theme makes the character all the more haunting and frightening. I would be more terrified of someone marching into the room with this theme than the Imperial March or anything else simply because of its slow build up and growing intensity. It truly shows the power of the dark side of the Force. It encompasses Palpatine's character to the fullest.
