James, as a Man United fan, I back Amorim, not whatever player that might be a celebrity on the team. I've wanted a manager that dares to be brutal. Rashford for me has shown that he can't do it anymore. I don't know why dropping Rashford is that big of a deal honestly.

It's all about attitude, he puts out social media posts that claim he cares but then whenever you watch him on the pitch, he looks constantly miserable and refuses to do any work off the ball. So what he is claiming and what he is showing are not lining up at all. It tells me he is trying to quieten the questions and criticism through false feelings, that on top of his off the pitch antics aren't a good look and on the surface his attitude and mentality are all wrong and not good enough. There has been constant problems with leaks and player power at Man U for years under every manager, I wouldn't be surprised if he is apart of that because he has been Mr. Man U and untouchable. I don't think he'll revive his career from here because he himself and only him can accept and recognise that he needs to change and I'm not sure he is willing to.

Everything else aside, Rashford isn't very well-suited to Amorim's formation. He can do a job. We've seen him get goals under Amorim. But the number on his back and figures on his wage slips demand more than just "doing a job". So, it makes sense that Amorim isn't afraid to lose him.

This is a relationship which has run its course. A mixture of institutional failure which has plagued a slew of individuals of different ability levels and a player who whilst achieving great amounts is unable to produce and perform at the levels required to justify his current pay packet. The money element is a bit odd because he’s not the current highest paid player nor is he close to the guy that has been overrenumerated in the past decade of malaise. If Rashford goes, who has done far more for the club, Garnacho needs to be out the door as well unless his attitude massively changes.

When you are rich, putting in the hard work required to be great gets more difficult. This is where rashford is in his life. Hes dedicated his life to football and sacrificed alot in his youth to get to where he is, but now that he's here, he can't push himself anymore. We judge him greatly for this, but the vast majority of us couldn't do it when we were young. Our idols are able to do it their whole careers and it really does make them special people. Marcus just doesn't have it to that level and it's okay on a human level. But when it comes to professional sports, it's not okay. He needs to go. Maybe a new challenge will help him find that strength. Maybe it won't, but manutd cannot carry him any longer. He has to go and it doesnt matter whos fault it is.

Rashford is another on a long list of players who United have failed, but this hurts more cause he's a proper manchester lad who has love for the club, fans and the city (which apparently doesn't matter for Manchester United according to a lot of our 'fans'). Regardless I hope he can go away to another big European club, one which can challenge for top titles and play to his strengths. IMO Barcelona or bayern are the best fits, just has to be seen if they can afford him, personally hope he chooses Barcelona cause then fans can really appreciate him and I'm sure Flick will help show the world he is top 3 left wingers in the world.

Rashford has now seen 8 different managers at Utd, if you include Carrick, Rangnick and RVN. He's clearly the common denominator here, if he were going to be the player he could have been, he'd have done it by now under one of them. Such a shame to see such a talent go to waste but that's a problem that only he can fix, and right now it looks like he has absolutely no motivation to do anything other than what he's done for the last few seasons, and collect £300k at the end of every week. Time to go fella.

I do feel, the players who got the nod for the derby is the best "team" of players in terms of players Amorim trusts or work in the system. Probably it will swap around a bit if the opposition is weaker, with Maz as RB, Amad at RWB and maybe Mainoo there too, but that is not the important part. Rashford and Garnacho didn't get in the team over Lindelof (with Yoro there), Eriksen or Antony despite facing a team that you would think there is a higher chance you need to chase the game. Not starting is not unexpected given how poor they both are lately, but not even on the bench means there is not a trust there. Game changers like them, not playing is tactical, not in the match squad is always something a bit more. I think the problem with Rashford is that he seem to be unwilling to change his game to fit the role. I feel, if is a matter of him being just not good enough for the system, he would at least find a spot on the bench; is not like we needed 3 CM on the bench against City. Rene Hake did an interview saying how that there are players who does not want their game to change (but said it more nicely), I can't help but think he was talking about Rashford. Amorim is a smart man, he would had studied all his players' past closely, and he will see there is very little change in how he played 5 years ago. I definitely feel, every game before City was an audition for the players to stake a claim in his plans as everyone seem to get a chance, some in multiple positions. There is a feeling that audition has now closed.

Huh. Maybe this actually is the start of a change for Man Utd. It's the kind of decision that they've needed to do for years - Rashford is about 200k or more a week overpaid, but because of various external pressure, plus the desire to look as if they can compete on wages for the 'best' players, he's been just sitting there stealing a living. I suspect they'll be in for a rude awakening, however, when they discover that no club is willing to pay close to that kind of wage for a rather ordinary player. Shifting him could prove hard.

In Ten Hag’s first season before the latest big contract Marcus looked like a leader and our go to guy. Since then he seems to have lost any desire to work for the team, even that desire to make those runs in behind or across the opposition back line has dropped significantly. Now he has to show a willingness to adapt to a new role to even have a chance at getting back to being to go to guy. But the actions and body language on the pitch in 7/8 out if 10 games isn’t giving anyone a reason to think he’s ever going to fight for the badge again so it’s probably best for both the player and the club for him to move on

Fans say, "We need to give the new owner/manager TIME!" then sit down and start the stopwatch and start tapping their fingers.... three months later "This is terrible! Sack everyone!" If we sell Rashford for about 35 Million the unlocked wages and money we get from that fee would just about cover buying Gyokeres at around £60 Mill (not Euros!), and paying him 100K per week (two and a half times what he's on now) over a five year contract.

There have been 2 players in the last 20 years who could have gotten away with what Rashy, Garnacho, Lingard, Pogba, etc. have all tried (and gotten away with) at United: 2010-18 Messi and 2008-2015 Ronaldo. That's it, those 2 players were the only ones that I've seen who've been good enough to warrant changes in regime at the club if they wanted it. United were ready to let Rooney go, Liverpool should have been ready to let Gerard go (if they wanted to) despite both of them being club legends. And that's how it should be. Like Pep himself said, the only player who's individual quality he valued over his system was Messi. The only player Mourinho relaxed a bit on his defensive demands was Ronaldo. They're special talents. The United players I mentioned are good, but they're nowhere near that level. It's high time United got a manager that actually has the balls to tell that to their face and that they can leave if they think they're too good to put in the effort when you're losing 3-2 to Forest. The worst part about the Glazers is that they believed football ownership was just getting in as many marquee names as you can for however amount of money is required and neglect literally every other aspect of the club. That's let those marquee players think they run things, can demand transfers, change managers and do basically everything. Glad to see Amorim and INEOS aren't having any of it.

Also James, Google Pedro's emails to Mark for a in depth understanding of Amorim and it all becomes clear as day how and why this happens and will continue to happen under Amorim (And I applaud it) I'm a die hard Lfc fan since December 74 btw.

I understand the thought process but I feel a little bit for defending ali. Yeah he was a hot prospect and he did nosedive off a cliff but the mental health side of things, he had an awful upbringing and he hadn't dealt with it that well. There's a lot of people who have had similar stories, myself included but we don't have the public pressure of being a footballer and all that comes with it. Rashford though, I haven't heard anything regarding his private life so currently, it is all on him.

@@captainhindsight6994Rashford didn't have an easy childhood either, that's why he fought so hard for the child feeding schemes during COVID. He's also clearly a very sensitive and emotional person so I can imagine what his mental health is like when he's always being hounded by the media and fans, that would break most people. I think he should leave for his own sake if he can't turn it around by Jan, I'd hate to see someone get driven into a deep depression, especially with the constant hit pieces and fan abuse about things that aren't even football related.

Comment 2 for the algorithm. United fans see a new Sir Alex in the coming and it certainly feels like it. He appears totally ruthless. Rashford doesn't also have a place in this 343 and he it doesn't help he ain't got a defensive gene in him

The issue for me as a United fan is that I don’t see many- if any - suitable replacements for rashford. The market for left sided wingers is relatively poor imo. Yes the wages are an issue and he would be 100% profit in a sale but I’m unsure what kind of player can be brought in to provide the numbers that rashford has over the last 7/8 years. Maybe I’m looking at it the wrong way and his replacement will be less of a winger more of a number 10 for amorims system🤷‍♂️
@daithicondon9976
@daithicondon9976 6 күн бұрын
his number are honestly not that good at all over the years and we don't need a winger, we need attack minded wing backs. Rashford is not that and he lacks the intensity out of possession that Amorin demands. The money freed up getting his wages off the books will go along way to getting 1 if not 2 players that Amorin can play straight away and develop into top class players.

I think the constant slander and abuse and media articles attacking rashford are clearly getting to him and to get back to form he needs out of the spotlight. And the only way that happens is if he leaves utd. We can’t afford to bench him and let him sort his head out with the money he’s on. Add that to this new system I don’t think he fits into it’s probably time to go as much as it hurts me. He’s a utd lad deserved to win it all with us in a team no one knew he would make it into (only got his start through rvp and chicha gettin sold in summer, will Keane injured and Tony martial injured in the warm up)

Bloke has had so many chances. Every season its "how can united unlock Rashford?" and where can we fit him in to get the best out of him etc etc. He's everyone else's problem. He's on 350k PER WEEK and walks around the pitch like he can't be bothered and its driving fans insane. He then acts like the victim and complains about criticism when he plays in a team alongside the likes of Maguire and Antony who get some of the most unwarranted and malicious abuse ive seen players receive. He's Dele Ali 2.0, he's got an attitude and discipline problem and i'd be happy to see him go. A new manager has noticed this in barely a month. Garnacho is different because he's much younger and seems to be trying harder on the pitch, I hope he comes back stronger.

Its time for Amorin to do the same with Rashford

I don’t want to see him go and I feel like there’s a little bit too much ill will towards him, players have kinda lost their mojo before, looking at deli alli and Jesse lindgard as of recent. It turned out to be a lot of off the field stuff that just stopped them from being in the headspace to play the game they used to love. If you play football yourself you know sometimes if off the field stuff is bothering you it’s hard to perform, now imagine you’re playing in the prem and football is your job and not just a hobby. Fair enough it’s everyone’s dream growing up but still, it’s not easy. I hope rashford finds his footing and his form again, and if he doesn’t I hope he can leave the club on good terms and people respect what he’s done. Same amount of prem goals as hazard and torres but in less games and as a younger player in probably worse teams. That’s impressive

Even as a rival fan I love Rashford but it's very hard to defend him at the moment. He's clearly very talented but his impact on games is pathetic. I think he's United's best player so there's absolutely no reason why he shouldn't be able to hold down a place in the team if he actually gets his act together. He's 27 years old though so I don't really see that happening which is a shame.

These kind of players need to be reminded that they will be over in a couple of years. Players will be over and gone at 34-35 years old. There's no way back once they reached that old. This is where a father figure is useful and they have lost one. Not all player developed well and can be independent or real professional.

Homegrown at club, 3 years between 15th and 21st birthday. Sellability and contract pivot on that. Until there's more youth players of at least his quality, he stays and picks conditions. I'm sorry to have to state that, but he knows that. There won't be a serious debate about him within the club, however much the fans wish it to be.

He's getting paid around what Salah, KDB, and Van Dijk are paid but provides less output than Wissa and can't be asked to put in any effort. His one, maybe two, good seasons over 9 years isn't enough to justify that wage or him even being in the squad based on what he's shown on the pitch in the last two years. The sooner he's gone, the better. No more Celebrity FC or Player Power FC. United needs a proper culture reset and Amorim/Ineos seem willing to actually do it. Wish him the best but good riddance. Let it be a stark warning to everyone else in the squad.
