sometimes the cheater plays the opening without cheating, an then starts to cheat in the middlegame, or when they feel they are in disadvantage, so in the end, it is so difficult to track the cheaters, they do not cheat for the whole game. Also, millions of games are played each day, to analyze and track the cheaters in each and every single must be super difficult

Guys I gotta tell you, it´s possible to have a 98 or 99 % accuracy game if your opponent is playing really bad, I´ve had games like that where I played very accurately bc my opponent was playing really bad and almost every possible and natural move becomes a natural choice for stockfish. This has also happened to some opponents of mine where I was playing really bad. So sometimes, people are not cheating, you are just playing really bad.

@mr.godzilla8331 But I played with 80-89% accuracy. I didn't blunder, made 1 or 2 mistakes, and +2 inaccuracies. I mean you can get a 99% and 98% accuracy if your opponent plays bad but: 1. I played well. 2. My opponent was a terrible player. Everytime we play he always loses. 3. He played 2 BRILLIANT sacrifices which were queen and rook sacrifices. 4. The evaluation never went down for a single move. I mean, think about this. He was just a 1100 but I were a 1300 back then. I went back to 1200 because of this guy. Losing rating doesn't matter because 1200 are easy opponents for me.

Ok, to me - around 1600 Elo in real life classical - in position form 3:11 it is not quite unnatural to sacrifice the rook. It is tempting, when you have low time and play for perpetual, as black king is then trapped by white pawns. But to find mate in 15, that's a different story...

tbh the first half is all natural moves - with a little thinking qxf7 is clearly best, only check, take the knight, get your queen in, even cleaning up the pawns and bringing the bishop in isn't too hard - but all perfectly and at 700 elo is crazy

I played around 3-7 cheaters in the last week, but I once cheated it was really easy to cheat, play until you make a mistake, open up stockfish, get into a good position and close stockfish, and repeat until you win it was that easy and it makes it seem like a more normal player since you make mistakes but, theres one thing that makes them pretty easy to catch, just watch their time. Since when they get into a losing position when they pause for more than 30 seconds, they're cheating since they need to set up the board with the exact piece locations and I hope this helps catch more smart cheaters

I'm at the 1800 ish level in rapid and I have to say at least like 5% to 10% of my games feel completely hopeless. These games often go on for literally 40-50 moves without me getting any counterplay whatsoever. I dont know if these people are cheating, but either a lot of them are cheating or there are a bunch of extremely underrated players stuck at this level playing each other.

once you get up past even 1600, it's not too hard to get 95-98% accuracy if you play in the right style trading everything, especially as black, will at worst be good moves and grinding bests in endgames is also not hard i've played a game with 97.9 that was 50+ moves i've won games that long with over 98% accuracy because my opponent hung a pawn in the endgame under time trouble cheaters are easy to detect because they don't play like that (also the m15 is not too hard to find if you know it's m15 but impossible otherwise)

Started to get back into playing, and about two weeks ago played an opponent who was fairly evenly matched (both of us ranked like sub 1000 ELO). Then after the opening phase he took a solid... almost 3 minute pause and won the game after that in about 5 moves. NGL kind of put me off on playing chess against randoms online

theres not much you can do as a regular player but to move on, the chance of encounter of such is minimal and also is the rating lost, which for most cheaters is just a few weeks or never for some good cheaters to ever get banned and give back the rating

Good cheater don't affect the community that much. They actually play as a player with certain ratings and continue to climb. That means, good cheaters play like a 800, the next week like a 900, then 1000, after 1100 and so on.

I think that the opposite affect is happening actually. The amount of cheaters is still the same as ever (quite minuscule). However, now there are tons of false reports because people are too insecure to think they could possibly lose. This isn’t even a problem until you get to 2k elo. Yet some 900’s are focusing on this instead of improving lol. This is exacerbated by weak strength youtubers thinking a 1700 can’t mate with forcing moves. I get 95+ accuracy in 40+ move games every day, and I also get messages in chat about cheating every day. Never once have I cheated. I study 4+ hours a day and only play 2 games a day, so obviously I’m gonna have some good games and will be underrated. Just get better man

Yeah, it is a self propelling mechanism. A vicious circle. But it is morally wrong. Just because someone is stealing from you it doesn't give you the right to steal from someone else. Whenever you cheat you are in violation yourself. And look at it this way. When you use an engine it is comparable to entering a weightlifting competition with a forklift. You will not become stronger if you let a machine do all the heavy lifting. It's quite boring tbh. Anyway, this is the reason why I do not play online much. Otb is more fun anyway. But I understand why that is not an option for everyone.

It's not so easy to cheat consistently and get away with it for a long time. Yes, some obvious cheaters figure out a way to stay under the radar, but those are the exception. Does online chess have a cheater problem? Yes. Is it so bad that one player can spot 100 cheaters in one month of playing 3 minute blitz? No. Depending on how many games are being played and what time format is being used, there will be more or fewer instances of cheating. But to face more than ten cheaters in a month playing 3 minute blitz is extremely unlikely, I'd dare say practically impossible.

Cheaters will always come back with yet another stunt that won't get them in the spotlight for some time only for them to make an even more elaborate stunt once the ban hammer comes and gets them. At least you get to learn chess theory, just like the body which is made in the kitchen more than the gym, you get to learn more in reading theory than in the actual practice due to the fact chess games aren't specific.

As 1700 I observed diffrent thing, this unnatural change of elo, once I played against 1200 or 1400 playing very well, and some beating me casualy with is odd considering I'm quite active at rapid and sometimes beating easly 1700. Now I kinda don't trust elo, I observed very odd and very strong, level of play what I would except form 1800, even today I was beaten by a guy who was playing at strenght of 1500 blizts rather 1200 blizts (I'm 1400 at blizs)

That mate in 15 doesn't seem like an obvious cheater. I know 15 moves are a lot for a 700 player, but most of those moves are made by the same piece. We would need more info like the time he needed for each move. I say this because I have found amazing mates with several continuous brilliant moves, and luck is also part of the game. We need to reduce cheaters, but we need to be careful of starting a witch hunt.
