Please keep in mind the volume of emails I receive and that not all disaster submissions will receive a response. I will try to get to as many as possible. Feel free to "bump" your email once every 24 hours by responding to your submission with bump. Do not resend the save file multiple times as it will clog up my inbox storage.

Last year I took a break from Warhammer after the mess of SoC and went back to Fall of the Samurai and Medieval 2. Now I'm back into W3 but seeing Legend bring back the olders games makes me want to play them again 😂

General Speeches is exactly one of the main reasons why I still play Medieval 2 and Rome Total War (including Rome Remastered). There are variants of the speeches that make them unique like based on what faction you are playing, vs against, some of the speeches can be funny, inspiring and can also be bloodlust. Also its because I like historical Total Wars more compare to the newer ones.

I love M2's recruitment system as well. Playing with what you can get is so much more interesting than making the perfect army every time. And having to use the ragged remains of elite units till you can afford to withdraw to a heavily developed province to replenish them is so much more fraught than just sitting them in a newly captured settlement till auto-replenishment does its thing.

It definitely adds that economic game more immersing to have to imagine your soldiers marching out, fighting, and taking another castle without being able to reliably have reinforcements.

It's a pity that I don't have a save of the battle from the campaign for the Britons in Rome Total War. During this campaign, I went to the Black Sea coast with one army, near the capital of the Scythians, where I was intercepted by the post-reform army of the Julii. I retreated, but the Julii still caught up with me, and their reinforcements, consisting of almost 5 Praetorian detachments, were supposed to join the battle. My army consisted entirely of veterans, with golden stripes, which made its way from Gaul, almost without reinforcements and retraining. I really didn't want to lose this army, but the autobattle was not diminished. I tried for a long time to defeat the Romans in a manual battle, but there were constant difficulties there too - the Romans attacked with heavy infantry from the mountain, my troops were at the foot of the hills and forests, where I could not use my chariots and defeat the Roman flanks. In addition, the bot constantly chose a snowstorm as the weather conditions, which was too annoying and disorienting for me. And even if I managed to somehow make half of the Romans flee, then reinforcements from the Praetorians arrived, who led a counterattack on my tired troops and smashed them. After 5 defeats, I was finally able to win this difficult battle, and keep all my units in the army to retrain them. It was truly a pleasure when I was finally able to see my heroic victory plaque, the emotions were about the same as after completing a historical battle on a very difficult level, like the Battle of the Teutoburg Forest. I would like to see how Legend overthrew these puny Julii with barbarian troops pumped up with gold. But unfortunately, this battle is lost to me.

I know that had to be incredibly frustrating, but that was the funniest ending of all time 😂

Armor matters more in meele, but a well armored unit with good shield is great to shrug of weak archer fire. If you are defending on a hill, with heavy infantry with shields against enemy archers, you can have almost no losses. I had Dismounted Boyar Sons being pelted with arrows when standing on a hill like that, against some enemy archers, and it dealt basically no damage.

I beaten superior enemy army with just 6 archers 1 horse archer and General bodyguard. I'd take archer unit over infantry every day. Your army had a lot of infantry with only few archers and the general, and that's pretty bad. So I am kinda impressed though not surprised by your victory.
