Wow, I do miss this channel and Jetix. Childhood memories watching this channel and Jetix back in the 2000s until 2009, when both were merged and became Disney XD. Most programming (like from Disney Television Animation and non-Disney animated programming) that aired on this channel is now on Disney+ and Netflix.

Ah yes, Jextix. This was the place where I watch anime and Disney Power Ranger series like Wild Force, Ninja Storm, and Dino Thunder. Disney XD still airs kids anime like the Yu-Gi-Oh and Beyblade series. I started watching Beyblade X recently on Disney XD.

I have no idea why defunct kids TV from a very long time ago is so interesting but it really is fascinating. I think you've noticed that the power struggles between the corporate behemoths that ran children's television for a long time were protracted and brutal. They featured some interesting people who could behave very badly if need be. Great vids dude.

Toon Disney/JETIX will always be one of the best channels. Fromt the awesome intros and bumpers to the variety of shows they had. Though not to rip on Disney XD, they had some interesting content. But those were few and far between compared Toon Disney/JETIX.

I didn't have cable as a kid, my grandpa would record 6 hour tapes of toon Disney for us (put the tape in and hit record for 6 hours). Wish I still had some of those tapes because there was lost media on them like floogatron and temo supremo.

Toon Disney launched on April 18, 1998 (as part of Disney Channel’s 15th Anniversary) and the block Jetix launched on February 14, 2004 (Valentine’s Day) where it aired in the mornings on ABC Family and in evenings and nights on Toon Disney then in the fall of 2006 the Jetix block was removed from ABC Family, making Toon Disney the exclusive home 🏡 for Jetix and on February 13, 2009 Toon Disney and Jetix were rebranded and merged into one ☝️ channel Disney XD Plus Jetix was the main competitor of Cartoon Network’s Toonami

Disney never wanted Power Rangers but the only reason they brought Saban was because of the money PR was raking in and they needed something to respond to Pokemon

And then the rather godawful Saban Brands leeched PR back from careless Disney, even in spite of the Disney period of apex quality being much better than either Saban, neo-Saban or Hasbro, and sold it to Hasbro due to Hasbro itself being a cash cow company.

Even as a 2010s kid, I am not jealous of the people who grew up with Toon Disney and Jetix, depsite people thinking that Disney XD was a wasteland compared to them. Sure the name change felt corny and dumb, but the channel still had a lot of good shows to offer. I was still lucky to have some of the best Disney shows to watch when I was watching Disney XD, in fact my favourite show was even made in that era that was originally on Disney Channel you can guess by my username lol
