For the Dorsal crew, most trips go wrong. Like, 99% go wrong. But in rare form, it all comes together in this nearly 2 hour adventure across Mexico. There are tarpon, bonefish, permit, jacks,--- sometimes from the beach. Sometimes from paddle boards. Sometimes all at the same time.
But looking back, embarking on a fly fishing journey across the Yucatan Peninsula with lifelong friends is a truly unforgettable adventure. The pristine waters of the Yucatan offer an angler's paradise, with its expansive flats, mangrove-lined estuaries, and hidden lagoons teeming with a variety of game fish. The camaraderie among lifelong friends adds an extra layer of joy to the experience, as shared memories and inside jokes intertwine with the pursuit of elusive catches beneath the tropical sun.

Really appreciate it! So glad you enjoyed the journey. Honestly 10 weights might have been overkill, so 8-9 weights were our bread and butter. 9 weights for Ben because he babies fish on the reel… 8 weights for Dan because he absolutely horses fish in and needs some cushion 😂

For the more technical shots were on canon R5C and C70. (Rentals usually) And then the GH6 has been really really kind to us on autofocus. And it’s super light and portable with a Vario 35-100. Underwater shots are GoPro and …iPhone haha
