To summarize the Bronya/Silverwolf situation: SW is based on Haxxor Bunny (aka Bronie), which is an alternate universe version of Bronya from HI3. Which makes SW an alternate version of an alternate version of Bronya. This connection is implied by SW's trailer, as you see her playing HI3, and specifically as Bronie. In JP they do share the same VA, but not in EN dub. In Star Rail Bronya and Silver Wolf are different people that have nothing to do with each other. But the characters they were each based on are alt. Universe versions of each other.

For the Silverwolf and Bronya dilemma, simple answer will be "they are variants"...... But the long answer is: Just as Homu explained, Hoyo likes to use the multi-universe theology, and the possibilities of branching timelines, where the same person exists, but are different in experience and situations. Bronya is the default character of Honkai, Bronie is Bronya but in a sense of "what if her situation is different". She had a different life, different environments, but is still Bronya. Now for HSR, this is the exact same situation for Bronya Rand and Silverwolf. Silverwolf is basically Bronya born in a different world. Note that Welt explained this during Loucha's Story quest. He knew of Otto and Void Archives, so he instantly became suspicious of Loucha (and his gut feeling was actually correct)

Honestly I never finished part 2 so I don't know where it's at now, but void archives is still around as far as I can recall. However, I don't know if he left the planet or for what reason, especially since he yoinked Welt specifically to show him the Sky People (anti-matter legion) were doing some fuck shit.

If I remember correctly, though, in Alien Space it is stated that their Star Rail journey lasted for 3 years, so that part of the manga might be getting retconned soon.

Tbh i think sharing a voice actor is a good point for character variants. It happens very consistently in the hoyo games. As far as cn and jp vas go you have Mei, Ei, and Acheron, Kiana and Unknown God, Himeko, Bronya and Silverwolf, Otto and Luocha, and probably quite a few more. And there is potentially a brand new example of this too in the Acheron myriad celestia with Kevin.

Yeah I feel if both CN and JP have characters sharing a VA for certain characters, there’s likely a reason for that. EN will sometimes try and do this, but often it comes down to “different studios in different areas of the country all work differently so it’s often not possible to get the same person”

considering English dub is a new thing since Genshin to the honkai verse I don't think saying it can't count because it's not the same as CN and JP because when someone is casted as a variant of for example Raiden the VA still uses a consistent tone of voice familiar with the original Mei. I remember repeating the intro of Genshin multiple times because a few friends that played Honkai said the sustainer looks like she could be Genshin Kiana but since there was no confimed VA at the time and she sounded nothing like Kiana that can't be confirmed (yet). One case of completely different character but same VA is Ayato, he indeed shares voice with Otto but he isn't an Otto variant. The real Otto variant is probably one of the fatui or the descenders.

To be fair, Silver Wolf is a codename (or perhaps a name Elio gave her). Kinda like how Blade's real name is Yingxing. (In fact many characters are not actually called by their real name Topaz's name is Jelena, Aventurine is his 'Gemstone' codename. March forgot her name, Acheron isn't even her real name, ect.) Silver Wolf doesn't actually have a legal name. She's definitely a Bronya expy (Bronie to be exact but she's literally a Bronya expy in captainverse) but that doesn't necessarily mean she's Bronya, even if they share VAs. Like how people don't say Raiden Ei is Mei or Yae Sakura is Yae Miko.

If you are interested in diving deeper, it is highly recommended to at the very least watch Homu Labs' other video regarding the terminology and translations, called "why is the honkai series so confusing?!" (it does contain spoilers though, but not much this one didn't already spoil I think) It makes a huuuuuge difference in understanding the Universe. If you want to get into Honkai Impact 3rd, a story guide can also be a huge boon to the experience. The Hoyostans Story Guide is one we've made that covers just about everything we could find that's either of some importance, or just really neat. Many people going into HI3 miss the part where there are story essential manga, massive lore bomb Visual Novels, super cool extra animations and even short anime, etc.

A note to the "genshin is not part of Honkai". Genshin wasn't called "genshin" in the beginning, it was called honkai too.. but they wanted to apply for (I don't remember what) and having only one IP was against it.. to they use another name to kinda "feel" they had 2 IPs.. but genshin was thought as a honkai game and it's part of the universe as said by the devs multiple times.

Yeah, Cai (and people can hate him all they like for how he mistreated early Honkai and all of Genshin, this is a company statement) literally says in an interview that the company's goal is to develop the Honkai universe, which GGZ, HSR and Genshin are a part of, too (something I wish was more obvious for people). If Genshin wasn't part of Honkai-verse, it wouldn't fucking be on the Imaginary Tree or at least within reach of 2nd Divine Key and Otto wouldn't have been able to see Dvalin on the screen, same for Fallen Rosemary (just bc it has nothing to do with main story, doesn't make it not canon, which applies to other Hoyo IPs and Captain-verse in relation to each other).

_Honkai_ is a very deep rabbit hole, and what complicates things the most is how Mihoyo uses 'unreliable narrator,' with the result that players learn about its world at the same rate, and the same way, the characters do. So we know what people like Otto, Einstein, and Chenxue tell us about the world. Seeing the Honkai as a way for the Imaginary Tree to test the worthiness of worlds growing on it for its energy isn't 100% right or wrong, so this understanding leaves some gaps. It is, however, a fact that Otto was able to create new branches of timelines where the possibility existed for his love, Kallen, to live. Similarly, it is a fact that Welt Yang and Void Archives traveled from _HI3_ to _HSR_ . Canonically, unlike how Fischl and Keqing (or Asuka) ended up on _Hyperion_ , and Rozaliya ended up with Paimon. But it's not easy to travel between universes, or Welt would be able to do it casually, so he could visit his wife and adopted son on the regular, while also protecting Himeko from sharing her fate with the one he knows. Homu Labs kind of glossed over the fact that over the course of _HI3_ 's story, we visit various bubble worlds and meet versions of characters we know in them: Bronya herself travels through several as Welt tests whether she's a worthy successor, and she looks for Seele. The Captainverse is this in spades. Durandal's and Rita's missions in the Sea of Quanta. Part 1.5, _A Dance of Life and Death_ , takes place almost entirely in a set of bubble worlds. Finally, Part 2 takes place in two bubble worlds adjacent to Mars, Langqui and Oxia, which used to be sections of a much larger city. As this takes place on a whole different planet, we have yet to encounter any familiar-looking variants, and might not ever do so, unless they're variants of Part 2 characters. Anyway, bubble worlds in the Sea of Quanta vary in size, but generally they tend to be fairly small, from several city blocks to Su's little hill. They are rarely entire worlds if they have already fallen into the Sea of Quanta or Sea of Data, as a result of being absorbed into them. Bubble worlds on the Imaginary Tree, like those containing the Honkaiverse games, tend to be much larger, with _Genshin_ 's containing its world... but as we just said, _HI3_ has us visiting many other bubble worlds, so it's not merely contained to one leaf or branch. Similarly, _HSR_ has us traveling across and into other solar systems on the Astral Express, so it can't just be one leaf or branch either. Many possibilities exist because of these parallel and different worlds. As to Silver Wolf, I still tend to think of her as being the same Bronie from the Captainverse stories: she has a lot of the same gestures and other mannerisms, and while her attitude seems to have changed a bit (she sees everything as a game with the result she wants to get as much out of life as possible), she seems to carry herself in much the same way. And she is older. The biggest hint that she might be Haxxor Bunny is that at the end of her event, while standing with Kafka on Punklorde, she mentions that she once lost her homeworld. Since she's on Punklorde itself, that means Silver Wolf is not a native Punklordian, and she's instead referring all the way back to what happened in the Arc Light City Blues event that introduced Bronie in the Captainverse, and how she had to leave her original bubble world to survive. That or the prequel Shattered Dimension, which explained the collapse of her actual birth dimension, and how an alien rescued her and dropped her off at Raven's place. Either way. she lost two worlds she saw as her home. She also left the Captainverse _Hyperion_ , which as far as we know, might still be wandering in the Sea of Quanta. How and why she left, we don't know yet. But she must've gone to Punklorde sometime after to learn the _Aether Editing_ skill, and she seems to have traded in her Seeker Drones and P-90s for a cool new weapon as well. And then she fell in with the Stellaron Hunters. By her comments on the Astral Express, it seems possible she could have become a Nameless if she had met the Crew first instead, but she says she's had her fill of wandering -- which would be true if she had been with Captain's _Hyperion_ first. By her view, she's just playing the game.

Bronya Rand is the mirror universe version of bronya zychik, like how everyone else in hsr is, but silver wolf is bronya zychik either from the hi3 universe when she used to hop through bubble universes, (since time isn’t exactly reliable) or it is bronya zychik from a different part of the imaginary tree. Remember silver wolf has the power to edit reality, which means she most likely has acces to travel through different realities, aka universes or bubble universes, just like briny zychik used did.

As you mentioned its a video that makes you want to dive in more. I will say that Homu's terminology video is probably the most helpful (or at least it was for me). It gets to the root issue that as EN players we are getting a localized version of the story and the teams doing the localization in each of the games aren't fully consistent (understandably so) in the terminology of the translations.

Even little references in Star Rail's 2.1 story, to HI3, have been amazing. Makes me really happy to see all their games expand and connect with each other on different levels

If you also look at the Shattered Sword on the Astral Express, you'll see that It's Sutyr (Himeko's Sword in Honkai Impact 3rd), implying (at the very least) that Item's from one Universe may be able to maintain their momentum in Time and Space to come up somewhere else in the Imaginary Tree! As I said, it's merely Implied as the Last you see of Himeko in Honkai Impact 3rd is Chapter 29 when she Locks herself in an Area of the Ship that was breached by the Honkai and basically Sacrificed Herself to save everyone onboard, including her fellow Valkyries like Bronya. So, it's implied that Himeko Died and was lost to the Sea of Quanta, with Sutyr possibly breaking only for the Shards to maintain their momentum to later come up in Honkai: Star Rail. Let me know what you think about this and I'll catch you in your next video man! For a lot of what I know about Honkai Lore, I just listen to Mina Aoyama, hence why I know about Chapter 29!

a little tid-bit about the Silver-wolf bronya situation: Bronya Rand had a different CN Va because Hanser (CN va) said she couldn't get the older Bronya voice right (despite doing it fine in hi3 lmao) and keqing's CN VA stood in However, Hanser still voices Silver Wolf typically when it comes to especially when it comes to the core cast they'll stick to the same VAs in JP and CN. EN was introduced in genshin so they don't have much of an insentive to keep VAs for variants as consistent (tho i heard Ratana might've said she was going to voice acheron but couldn't due to scheduling)

The high level lore of their multiverse is VERY complex, not complicated. But low level understanding is that "Ture" worlds anchor a certain "imaginary space" where bubbles can form that are reflections of multitude of refractions of the true world, that's where you get the "this world is just a small city district" with characters you sort of recognize doing different things. Bubbles can be stabilized by certain high energy objects but they will remain small and dependant on the anchor world. Knowledge from Honkai series HEAVILY suggests that Teyvat is a stable bubble universe of an unknown world (Celestia) because of the sky actually being a dome and not true space.

If anyone is still confused just know that acheron has nothing to do with raiden mei from any of the other honkai series and she's just an alternate version of them in the HSR universe so even if you don't know the lore of their other versions of her you can still enjoy acheron's story as a stand alone character in hsr

All of the honkai games are connected by what we call the honkai universe, but they're all different things, the characters are similar and their stories are connected but they're more of alternate versions of each other, i'm bad at explaining bc honkai lore it's complicated af, but Homu Labs has a really good video explaining the connection between the games and a little bit of a basis of the honkai universe, including Houkai Gakuen, GGZ, HI3rd, Star Rail, and even Genshin

The Adam soul or whatever project stigmata made where everyone falls into a 'sweet dream' and they don't want to leave/we have to convince them to before they disappear or whatever seems a lot like Penacony and us having to fix peoples emotions and how some people dissolve or disappear somehow or have spiritual deaths... Also the Herrscher of origin is an anomaly for herrschers as Elysia being the OG Herrscher of origin let her conciousness fall into the Honkai to allow it to give a chance for herrschers in the next Era to be able to have free will and have their love for humanity overcome Honkais will. Elysia passed on the mantle to Mei to become the herrsscher of Origin in the next Era because, tho I can't exactly remember why, in order to have finality (kiana's ascension) you need origin. Like how everything has a beginning and an end. If we look at the latest Honkai star rail short with acheron we can assume that when origin and finality clash, and if someone survives/persists, then they become an emanator of the path. I think each 'bubble verse' or 'world' is overlooked by a specific Aeon and that Aeon affects the outcome of the world and how the 'honkai' ultimately manifests. Acheron wielded the sword 'origin' and gave 'life' (Elysia gave up her life so herrschers in the next era can have their own 'will', Kevin was killed at the end of the next era so Kiana could ascend instead of him) which through her will and the gaze of Nihility turned into 'naught'. Kiana's world was caught in a reoccurrence of finality which was the 'truth' of the world, that Honkai would keep coming in multiple Eras until someone can surpass finality/show this world is worthy. For Acherons world the truth of the world that that worlds Kevin said was that it was for nothing, it was 'meaningless' which aligns more to Nihility. Acheron surviving, using the powers/sword of origin and fighting back against Nihility made her become an emanator/herrscher of Nihility. Kiana is an Emanator of Nihility even tho she absorbed the powers, or she will become the next Aeon of it as Kiana's ultimate goal was to disperse the honkai energy to be less lethal and make it so everyone on earth can benefit from it. By the time Honkai Star rail came around it was showed that Finality's powers or influence was waning, probably because of Kiana's influence over it as the timeline would be approx 7-8 years after Kiana sealed herself in the moon to prevent honkai radiation form corrupting others. Acheron is fighting against the path of Nihility despite being an emanator (probably trying to 'cure' it) but Kiana and the others did the same with finality (trying to find a 'cure' for the honkai). I think that the presence of 'Origin' specifically in a world might determine if that timeline has a 'finality' that after the 'finality' or final trial will lead the victors to become emanators or even Aeons themselves (the Aeon of Destruction looks VERY humanoid than the others and even then some like abundance is also very humanoid and its possible they were once human and want humanity to prove their survival thru honkai as a trial as Telsa or another scientist in honkai impact 3rd said something along the lines of the Honkai actually wanting to embrace humanity or something iirc, like it wants the best for humanity and this is the only way it 'knows how' if that makes sense and if I am remembering that correctly). Acheron also stated she knew someone named welt and knows about the world tree/alternate versions of others so acherons world was probably on par with Kianas and the Hi3 world. Honkai shows up due to technology/advancements in civilizations to test it and both of those civilizations compared to the ones we've seen so far in star rail were able to harness the power of the honkai (welts cane is a weapon made from a Kevin era herrscher's core, known as a divine key, and the swords they used in acherons world were most likely made from similar materials from herrschers) so most likely for there to be the final test the civilization has to meet the civilization progress requirements, be able to harness the powers of all herrschers/equivalents, have someone wield the power of 'origin' and another 'finality' (not necessarily to fight but even to stand together) and then have one or both of them survive to harness the power of the aeon/ascend and bring in a new Era. but this is just my theory/take on it, sorry for rambling and spelling errors, its 2:30am I should really sleep lmao

Theres something everyone in the comments is forgetting about the SW Bronya situation. Bronya Rand is also a variant of a variant. She is a vartiant of Adult Bronya from APHO. Who herself is an adult variant of Bronya Zaychik the main honaki story. So we basically have 2 variants of vartiants of Bronya Zaychik.

APHO Bronya isn’t a variant of child bronya. She’s Bronya but grown up. I’m pretty sure that the devs stated that apho was canon just 8 years into the future. Also, with the first chapter/pre chap (with Kiana, helia and coralie being trained by Kiana, we see Mei and Bronya in the apho versions. Which means it’s canon) Bronya Rand is a variant of just Bronya Zaychik. Not “apho bronya”. Literally.

To simply explain variants. Bronya Zaychick, Bronie, Bronya Rand, Silver Wolf, Silver Wing, Broboli... These are all "Bronyas" they are based from Bronya model, traits and lore but they make them unique to each other. They dont know each other, or they are not connected, but they are all bronya variants. As an analogy, its like Peter Parker, Ben Riley, Miles Morales. They are all Spiderman. About the JP VA, most of the time, atleast from the trio Kiana, Bronya and Mei. The JP VA of these 3 are the same VA on all games.. and yes Tsaritsa will for sure the JP VA of Bronya. They are so consistent to the point you can even predict if a character is a another expy. Like how Acheron was a Mei because of Raiden Mei VA same with Raiden Shogun. Like Bronya Rand and Silver Wolf have same VA. In the case of silver wolf, the easiest clue if it is a Bronya, is the VA, next is the Drill Hairstyle, Silver Haired Color, Grayi Eyes, 2 overlapping bangs, gamer, hacker, gun user, Prometheus, bunny, wolf. These just clues and criteria that they use for it a character to be a Bronya.
