Kyrie's situation is a perfect example of how society shuns those who choose not to succumb to fear tactics, drink the patriotic koolaid, and/or refuse to blindly obey and follow the flock. Much respect to this MAN for following his heart, speaking his mind and standing up for what he believes (knowing the consequences would be severe). Kyrie owes a lot of people an apology. There's a reason so many think so poorly of him. It's absolutely not about his outside of basketball tastes. He ran off from his only other teams, just because... Don't expect them to be ok with him because he's suddenly doing well. Give him another year and get back to us. You've mentioned Brooklyn and Boston, but don't overlook his refusing to play in Cleveland because he wasn't the top player. That was it. He said it. He took all the value they spent on him cuz he wasn't the star, and demanded to be traded instantly, midseason, forcing them to dump him for next to nothing. Just stop with this, "he's great now and it's been everyone else's fault stuff." You're searching for sooo many excuses, including that he's finally in a small market and therefore comfortable. Dallas/Ft Worth is the 4th largest city in the US. Cleveland was the small market, and you know everyone there had his back. He scored the winning basket for their one championship. So just stop. Kyrie has always needed someone to carry him, to remove all the stress of being an adult. Now it's Luka that carries the weight so Kyrie can start trying again.

Well actually KD extended while he was at the Olympics, then Harden asked out during the vax year, then KD asked out in the offseason. Then it was clear Tsai hated Kyrie and wanted to attach so many clauses that effectively belittled him so he asked out, even though they just went 18-2 with him and KD

In the grand scheme when compared to other markets, like LA, NY, and CHI, hell yeah even us in HOU when just comparing our markets, San Antonio has both of us beat despite us both having more attractive destinations. And when comparing the prev BIG 3, despite SA having more rings (and finals appearances) in the last decades than all 3, because the other fan bases are larger, idealy that determines the market.
