When it came out, we still had hope the future would be cool. The tech in the series didn't always seem fanciful enough for proper sci-fi, so it didn't seem to deliver on its premises. Ten/twenty or so years later, yea. Seeing how far its future is from our present, it's just a fun watch. Return of the Joker is a wild ride, 100% delivers on being an amazing animated Batman movie.

After she left the joker in OG and batman visited her 1 day before she was getting out of prison and bringing her a gift she was one of the few villains that really turned around. Can't say the same about bane he eventually succumb to the venom intake and Mr. Freeze was robbed of his turn around. Felt bad he had to die like that

My biggest peeves with the show was firstly that Terry never really had a thematic nemesis until Bigtime, so his villains felt very sporadic. Secondly Dana was criminally underdeveloped. After 3 seasons I still cared more about 10 than I did her.

I think the Batman beyond series is amazing. It tells the future of how Batman retires and someone else takes his place, it introduces some new villains like a royal flush gang, and tell the story of high school boy who was going through a few relationships and to catch the guy who killed his father. Thanks for breaking all of this down. I was 14 when this came out. Never missed any episode. Then i never got any closure to why they stopped airing it and forgot where i left off. I grew up on Batman back in the early 90s. Always woke up early on Saturday to catch all the good cartoons on fox and WB. I remembered being so excited knowing this was gonna air. Damian informs his father that the criminals in the future are willing to use more violence to make ends meet. Beyond's corporate darkness and theme of hopelessness was exactly why it wasnt popular, there was still a lot of optimism to the future in general, so people just didnt get this show. Terry is a lot more brooding even for a Bat, dont know why that connected with me so much. I was a downer quite literally as far back as I can remember, so it kinda makes me tear up knowing its a cult classic, probably cuz a lot of people relate. At least we're not alone.

Nice summary but you got a few details slightly off. Max didn’t think Terry was Batman at first, she had adjusted the program to search for someone who could be leading a dual life as a Joker and Trey’s name came up. It wasn’t until the very end that she realized he wasn’t a Joker but in fact Batman. There was a couple other little off details but the biggest was calling Batgirl Batwoman who was a completely different character.
