Bought one Feb 2022 for $2800 bone stock before gas prices went crazy Modern EG look is right. You either never see these or if you do, they're crazy track builds or bone stock Shifter location is great, stock unbranded recaros great and shares parts with the RSX so mods are endless

The first thing that comes to my mind as a point of comparison is a two door 1996 Honda Odyssey, especially from the front. It has that mini-mini-van look.

At 3:10 I'm Fifties Pauly guys, and you are correct, I got caught up in a senseless bidding war. The car was at a decent price at around $12K but at the end some guy bid $15K. I should have walked away, but didn't. I'm never using Bring A Trailer again. When I received this car, it was a rust bucket and had a lot of issues. I paid for transport some big bucks, then a whopping $2000 just to do the out of state registration with the DMV. Mechanically I paid a lot more as the wheels were bald, the suspension was butchered, it had an ugly rear body kit, that didn't look so ugly in the pics, but I removed it. This was an absolute nightmare for me and it hurt my bank book, along with so much time wasted. I recently traded it in to a dealership for just a fraction of what I paid for it. There was going to be other issues in the near future. It really needed new brakes and rotors, the belts were worn, it idled on high for too long, the electronic steering was compromised. And this is just the issues that I was noticing, I'm sure there's going to be more. If this was a car that I was able to go see in person, (I live in California, the car was a dealership in New Jersey), I would have did a 180 degree turn in godspeed because this care was beaten up by the previous owner(s). But with BAT, you pretty much just go by the pictures, and carfax, and how honest the seller is. Again, I sold it back to a dealership here in Santa Ana, after locating a clean 2004 Acura RSX Type S in Milano Red with only 37K miles, one previous owner, stock, and is a west coast car. Very beautiful car and fun to drive, which I'll only take out on the weekends. I have a 2010 Hyundai that I use as a daily driver to and from work. I've closed the book on Bring A Trailer forever, as I'll be closing the account this week. Word of advice to anyone: Stay away from East Coast cars, and pretty much any car that you can't go see in person (should go without saying, but I didn't follow this common sense). I thought Bring A Trailer had a higher standard of what cars they actually allow to be posted on their auctions. Guess I was wrong. Anyway, It's always cool watching these Collector Car Feed videos. Cheers guys!

I LOVE my 2020 Civic Si, Stage 1.5 Tune from Pherable plus some bolt-ons equals nearly 300 HP at the crank from a tiny 1.5L Turbo and I still get 40 MPG on the highway even after the mods (2-Door Coupe version, lightweight and aerodynamic). Im usually a GTI guy but I genuinely like this thing a lot. I like my "Rallye Red" color but I have seen 10th gens in White and I agree its one of the best colors. Factory stock other than power mods, it has those optional extra wheels from Honda with the Black/Silver Spokes and the Red Stripe on the outer lip of the wheel, they look fantastic and Im never gonna change them. I love the 10th Gen 2-Door Coupe on looks, its aggressive but not too aggressive - a great balance for a little sports car. I don't like that 11th gen is now 4-Door sedan only. It looks nice but nothing special so I think my car looks way better than the new 11th gen.

I had a friend briefly after college who had one of these, he used to make me get out in the middle of the street before he would parallel park it. I never understood why at the time, but now I realize it was because he had it lowered or air suspension or SOMETHING that made it go up and down and the door would hit the curb. Somehow this weeb found a woman willing to not only marry him but also reproduce with this man. I am still single.

I bought my 160k mile 8th gen civic si for 3400 bucks about 3 years ago. Has 215k miles now and never given me one problem. Ive replaced a ton of stuff though pre emptively. Id say about 75 percent of the cars original parts outside of the block have been taken out at this point. Its insane how much these appraise for now.

@Kdubz_Auto_HVAC
@Kdubz_Auto_HVAC Жыл бұрын
@@allanrodriguez7526 I've got a entire file devoted to maintenance of the car and what I've replaced but it was all preventative. The only things to actually wear in the past 3 years or so were all wear items for the most part. Things like suspension parts, brakes, tires, that type of stuff. You might need to do a clutch and if it's over 150k miles you will NEED to do your timing chain, tensioner, and guide components. No wiggle room on that one. Honestly the only things that actually have failed on me are all electronic things. Air fuel ratio sensor, vtc solenoid, and vtec spool solenoid have all failed on me as well as a cracked water outlet [thats what your thermostat bolts into]. VTC Sprocket also like to rattle on cold start sometimes that's a known problem but it's not bad for the car mine did that for 2 years until I replaced it when I did my cams. Transmissions are a known bad spot too. I rebuilt mine last year for about 1900 [700 for the kit and 1200 for my boy to do it] The car has never left me stranded or has ever been completely undriveable though

Owned a facelift jdm ep3 type r, probably my favourite honda ive ever owned. And yes, have had a k swapped em1 coupe and fn2 type r. The ep3r just ticked all the right boxes for me, looked nice outside, roomy and modern interior, not too heavy of a chassis, came with the jdm k20 and gearbox and the chassis was rowdy and fun to drive. The k swap em1 was just too old and rattly inside for me and the chassis felt odd, i liked the shorter wheel base of the ep3r perhaps if i had an ek instead of the em1 coupe i would have enjoyed the k swap more but the interior was just too old and rattled too much regardless. Fn2r is somewhat similar to the american market 8th gen civic si, its nice outside and very modern inside, but just too heavy. So for me the ep3r is a good balance of modern look, modern interior, not too heavy and good chassis, its a shame the US market never actually got the type r versions of the ep3, it seems the ones you got were heavily watered down and seems like they never really got popular over there becausd of how watered down they were

I've had a 97 civic coupe with a single jingle, single cam wam bam thank ya ma'am as my first car, then I bought an 8th gen si, 2007 sedan, with the k20z3 in it which was paired with the lsd trans and I was extremely lucky to have one of the ONLY 8TH GENS IN THE WORLD to not have issues with the paint. Ran the absolute piss outta that thing until 220k miles and it threw the notorious cam/crank correlation timing chain code one day and I cleared it and sold it the same day lmao. Now I have another 97 sedan with a Honda Domani front and rear end swap on it with a b20vtec in it (b20 block, b18c1 gsr head) that's an all motor build. Love my Honda's man they're so easy to build and so easy to embarrass every douchebag in a modern v8 with bolt ons that thinks they're the bees knees 😂

These things are pretty stout... A friend of mine owned a Type R EP3 (Europe so we got the Type Rs), he got it with about 200.000km, he turboed the stock engine and it lasted until about 460.000 before spitting a rod out the block. Swapped a fresh one in a weekend and kept going strong.

nah they're too old and too close in price to an 8th gen. my rule is now that if i'm going to spend a crapton of time trying to find a good example, it might as well just be a good car. helped my friend find an 8th gen si with an hfp kit, rpf1's, kw v3's and helical gear swapped transmission for 8.5 (paint was also perfect and ceramic coated). really not too far off from an ep3 deal unless you're finding a mint one for like 5k. I think I kinda see the ep3 appeal but I think the honda fits are gonna be less abused and a bit newer.

The prices of EK/DC2's is just classic JDM tax, they're slower cars overall, that's why people K-swap them. In the UK we live on an island that gets rain for more than half the year, and every damn road is salted in the winter, so basically any old JDM car will rot away like nothing if it's not looked after. I think there's less than half of the production EP3R's left on the roads now. Unless it's garaged its whole life and only taken out in the summer it WILL be rusty somewhere.

I just got myself an SI… going through all the beat to hell/modded riced out cars was hell. Went to look at an 8th gen from a dealer who said it was stock… got there and saw that it had a 2.4 swapped in there… like wtf.

There are a few things I'd buy at 200k miles, a ford straight 6, Most diesels, or a 22r toyota truck. As long as rhe body and interior is acceptable.

I just got one of these for $3k CAD, has high milage but is in really good condition, no rust. They are really fun to drive but the alternator placement is horrible. also those blinkers like to fall off at a moments notice.
