for me best episode is the one with piccolo's sacrafice for gohan, in the anime we show their relationship develop (unlike the manga) and his sacrafice was not only his character's redemption but also a strong point for gohan's character and the biggest raise to dragon ball's stakes since piccolo's life was connected to the dragon balls making saiyan saga the first arc to take away the safety net of the dragon balls

Best episode is when Piccolo sacrificed himself. In context the ramifications were huge. Because it meant that the dragon balls didn’t exist anymore and it was perma death for all the characters. It was a great character arc for Piccolo, it made the death of the other felt more terrible and it hyped the stakes for the Goku Vegeta fight to 11. In Europe it was broadcasted just a few months after the Japanese version. Everyone was devastated by this death, it meant so much on so many levels. Can’t top that…

Love the video! The way you explain how each episode affects the story as a whole is really engaging and well thought out. Personally I'd throw Gohan defeating Cell in there as well. Father-Son Kamehameha, passing of the torch. Plus I've always thought Vegeta distracting Cell with that energy blast to help Gohan is one of the most underrated character moments of the series.

I know you put it as an honorable mention, but Episode 120 "Another Super Saiyan?" is by far my favorite episode of Dragon Ball Z. So many awesome moments in that episode. The personalities of all the Z-Fighters and Freeza at full display, and we get arguably the best moments of Trunks. King Cold saying "So this is a Super Saiyan" before the camera pans across Trunks arm and body is so sick. All while Freeza backs up in fear from the sight of Trunks' eyes and the heat of the Super Saiyan energy. It's truly the pinnacle of the Super Saiyan transformation. Episode 120 is simultaneously a microcosm of, AND the perfect stage setter for the 2nd half of Dragon Ball Z.

Yes, I was going to write the same.. Another super saiyan, was the best episode. Because after seeing that goku already reached to super saiyan level vegeta admits that ok no worry if I was not able become the 1st super saiyan but I will surely become the second super saiyan after goku, but when he sees another super saiyan. his pride as a prince of saiyan broke down.. and he started feeling agony for him self, he doesn't understand why he as a proud warrior is not able to become a super saiyan.. and that makes that episode the best episode.

"The Girl Named Lime" episodes really helped me better understand Gohan as a person. I knew him as a Fighter, but he showed a lot of his candid and authentic, non-combative self for the most part, except when he shows his power those couple times like blowing up the base or I guess chopping the wood

So a lot of people might disagree with what I'm about to say but it was kinda awesome when the Para Para Brothers did their musical voodoo dance with Trunks, Pan, and Goku. I think people should watch whatever episodes had the Para Para stuff, the fishy shadow dragon, Nuova Shenron, Ice Shenron, Goku changing from Golden Oozaru to SSJ4, and The Baby Secret.

@@zolelwavanqa6745 . A lot better than most of what's in Super at least. Actually, maybe even better than most of what's in Z. In my opinion. SSJ4 has a really cool visual design which is much deeper than just having almost every transformation be a different color of SSJ1 and base form. It's not canon but it's better than the canon. Although I must say, the way Goku and Gohan unlocked Mastered SSJ1 in the time chamber was kinda awesome.

​@@zombiedemon1762Newer characters, God Ki, Depth to the universe, God of destruction, mortal hierarchy, More universes to explore narratively or side story wise, much funnier slice of life episodes than GT, Animation and fights are way more fun creative and less safe unlike GT's animation (GT has a better artsyle but it's animation and fights are way weaker both narratively and enjoyability wise except just about Baby vs SSJ4 Goku). Dialogue and themes are explored and executed much better. (GT only has the baby arc again)

In very 1st episode, When raditz suddenly found a powerful ki in his scouter when he lend on earth, we simply thought that he will going to with goku but instead he met piccolo, and we found that goku has a different real name and about saiyan race, Piccolo fights with goku.. fhey shows so many things in 1 epsiode. The first episode of dbz was enough to prove that we are going to vitnessed a best series ever created.

Eh the baby saga encapsulates what’s wrong with gt in my opinion, it’s a cool concept that was rushed. It does feel more battle shonen than super but it might be due to the art style being more true to that era of anime. Once we get dbs on some one piece type animation it’ll be dope as hell

Ngl, the baby arc and some of the shadow dragon are the best out of gt but the super 17 arc and rildo arc drag gt down so badly, it's like having 2 Copy vegeta fillers or 2 bleach filler arcs

@@Xis_sa while I will say I exaggerated for rildo but the super 17 is not only as short as a filler arc but has the writing quality of one too, if not worse. Super 17 arc was literally, no exaggeration, the greatest possible idea that was ever thought of for official db yet executed so badly its memeable, to nappa having 0 dialogue, villains appearing for just 1 frame, to vegeta being a jobber as usual in gt, to whatever super 17 is meant to he, the whole arc quite frankly sucked, even for being less then 20 episodes it felt like a drag, the only part I liked was super 17 death and how it was that triple play back kill cam

Bejita's death was happy for me not heartbreaking. The son of a bitch deserved it, it is an excellent episode on that I can agree. What?! The SSJ1 trans. is only because of Kuririn's death his best friend. I disagree on the final choice. For DBZ my choice is episode 31- Kakarrot kicking Bejita's ass with Kaioken X3 and that famous Kamehameha vs. Galick Gun moment it was so special. The fate of the entire Earth was resting on the shoulders of the main hero yet again, but this time against an enemy far above him in every way. If we talk BP alone we can see the difference- In the Japanese dub they say he is over 8,000 so I give him 8,500. Bejita on the other hand is more than double with 18,000 so live that difference which was crazy.
