Super was strictly created to sell toys and video games, not to tell a good story.

There's no problem. You're forgetting that Goku and Vegeta are Saiyan's, and it's literally in their dna to grow stronger after every battle.

I would argue that the issue with Super isn't just us knowing the outcome, but also its overreliance on high stakes. And to be fair, this problem is also the result of DBZ's story, and to a lesser extent the original DB. Dragon Ball is in its very DNA a story about growing stronger. Goku trains to become stronger, and so every enemy he faces has to be significantly stronger than the previous one. In OG Dragon Ball Toriyama knew how to make the most out of relatively low stakes. When Goku fights the Red Ribbon army, he just wants to find one Dragon Ball, and later he just wants to revive Upa's father. The story is still thrilling despite lacking an interplanetary threat. DBZ quickly became a series about Earth threatening stakes. And so every villain really needed to increase in strenght exponentially. In Super we therefore get multi-versal stakes. But by this time it's a lot harder to care due to the diminishing return effect. This is also why I find Daima more exciting than Super so far, even though Daima takes place during the same time skip. It knows how to step back from gigantic stakes and instead rely on a sense of mystery.

so the next generation of villians should be carbon copies of Z? in ideals? the villians changed in super to keep the series from reaching stagnation. Frieza was the first to train for revenege. goku black sought to rid the world of mortals because of his "justice" he was an antihero that became the villian. Hitto was an assasin that had never been pushed beyond his limits before. Jiren was the strongest there was who had never relied on unity in strength to overcome challenges despite having his own pride trooper team, so much so even frieza teamed up with goku to beat him (thats saying something).

Let me go a little crazy here... I belive that on the next DBS arcs toyotaro will develop the new saiyans somekind, since it seems that this time they're actually going to have feats and relevance, what tease this to me is that Pan had some relevance in superhero and this time the "but they were in peace days" excuse will not happen, plus Goten and Trunks are training in Beerus planet... So, in the future, that's what i thought: Trunks (Canon SSJ RAGE): It's kinda simple, that's the best way to make this transformation canon, since mirai Trunks will probably never show up again (at least not the same one), this SSJ Rage of current Trunks could be improved, becoming something like a SSJ Rage god or something, there are a lot of ways of doing this. Goten (SSJ ROSE): Okay, i know i got a little carried on this one, but you can't deny it would be cool... At least for me, an ssj rose Goten would be a big suprise and definelly a good way to make him unique, by having that something close to a creator-god Ki, since Goten always had all that "hope" idea since his introduction, and we could got an canon ssj rose 3... Pan(Dark super saiyan or similar): Few people will know about this one, but it was a Gohan own transformation on DB AF, this one also goes a little crazy but at least on my eyes would be an really unique form, and really unexpected even if it kinda makes some sense, i always thought this concept of a darkness themed transformation a cool idea, but it actually never happened before aside from DBAF, since Gohan already has his own form (Beast), would be cool to see an dark super saiyan on Pan, specially now that we have DBD where is all that makai theme, it could be a counterpart to Gohan's mystic form, learned with kaioshins, an demon energy form. learned from makaishins.

I was able to appreciate Super with time (new characters, nice transformations, etc.) but it's true it has a lot of flaws. I know it''s between Buu Saga and End of Z, but what if Super happens to be in a new timeline? There might be something in a future arc that could explain this and it won't be related to the ending that we saw before (in Z). It's just an idea and I know it won't happen but that could help us enjoying Super more (knowing the ending could change). For me GT is also another timeline.

I completely agree with this video. One more point is the uninteresting character design of the main antagonist. Frieza, Cell, and Majin Buu were all immortal beings that had regen abilities. Rather than have some unique design that would require thoughtful strategy to defeat them they all required an overwhelming amount of power to completely eliminate them.

This was a great video but you didn’t mention all the character assassinations in Super. They tuned Goku into a dumbass clown that doesn’t even know what kissing is even tho he has two kids. They turned Vegeta from a proud prince into a joke and Beerus’s butler. Bringing back Frieza to have get stronger than everyone in a few months just makes everyone’ struggle in Z a joke.

Nah, I disagree with the moro part. 1."Absorbing androids" While yes this does appear similar at first glance, they very different when you look deeper, for example: Cell basorbes androids to reach his perfect form. Moro at the android become he was a back ul moro created in case he fails 2. "Having the ability to use other character's moves" That feels like a bad faith arguemnt cuz goku, potentially frieza, potentially vegeta and buu have all done such a thing, in fact, copying abilites is such a common ability that it is a fiction trope that exists EVERYWHERE in ficiton is especially dragon ball, so cell doesn't really have the rights for that. Also, cell can use abilities becuse he was made out of the dna of the people have have said abilities, so he has them by defaule. Moro on the other gets that ability by devouring OG73 and can copy ability (and potentially even power levels but that's iffy) by touching the target's neck. 3. "Losing power and reverting to a previous form" Really man.... Really....? One got beat up so bad he threw up android 18. The other had a specific technique uesed against him to drain his life force away to point his body decayed and he became an old geezer, come on man. 4. "Threatening to blow himself up when he lost" We went from "eh, I guess I can see where you're coming from" to arguemnt in bad faith to straight up being wrong. CELL was the one who threatened to blow up because he lost. Moro absorbed an angel's power and his body was unable to handle it so it started breaking down, which forced moro to fuse with the earth so that he doesnt completely crumbe to dust or explode but then since his body became the entire earth that means the entire planet was going to explode from the energy build, moro probably doesnt even want that to even happen because the earth blowng up means he will A. Die and B. Not have any souls to devour. Plus, bro wasnt even losing, he was straight up WINNING in earth form. Like come on man

My personal opinion is dB z brolly is the Brolly that was meant to be created as the automate challenge for goku and vegeta to become more powerful or become better Warriors a challenge like him is really the true original!! essence for the series. But changed to create a better fan base aka a Character with a new design to make more money for the franchise again that is only my opinion., What does anyone think about that 🤔..? ..??...

My biggest issue is similar with why i dislike dbs. The power increases that are not in place. Like kid trunks and goten being able to become super Saiyan. And in dbs i also dislike most of the new characters characters. Like Winnie the pooh a clown God and other weird characters we are supposed to take serious

It’s more of a spectacle now. It lost its grit, its dialogue, pace, story telling and character growth. But most of all it just LOOKS less serious. The color grading, cinematography and tension in scenes is absolutely gone and replaced by a Nickelodeon studio. DBS Broly was the best thing to come out after GT. Here’s hoping they go with that same production for Supers continuation…

Ignoring the time skip stuff, the stakes are lower in super because the show is extremely goofy and made for kids. Some portions are so goofy that it feels like I am watching Alf or something like that. You can't feel tension in a show with atrocious clown music and a main protagonist that acts like Peter Griffin.
