It’s a real shame this show was cancelled. Such an amazing show. Really hit the nail on the head in terms of filling the needs of the fans of the sci-fi genre.

It ended at a good point, in the next 3 books there’s a 30 year time jump, would be hard to convert over to a show right now at least

It doesn't seem realistic that Mars would be able to challenge the manpower, industrial output and sheer size of the UN. This is like pitting China against Singapore.

Mars is an Ultra Advanced Planetary Power with a few Billion Citizens, not some band of misfits on a Moon or Planetoid .....

@@Xightly_Loopid_001still, is like claiming earth just kept giving them industry after the war started, like whats mars gonna do if they want to take earth?

@@Xightly_Loopid_001 Yeah, Earth is the homeworld of mankind. Just now we have 8 billions people. Earth will always blast Mars eye closed. It doesn't even matter if they are more technologically advanced. Earth simply is more than Mars.

Yeah all this lore, while fashinating, doesn't take into account the fact that colonies like Mars, the Jupiter's moons etc... well they are colonies. They have other priorities rather than focus on weapons and engines. That's because if their food production, their energy production etc doesn't match the needs of their rising population and they still have to ask to Earth to supply them of those goods... every rebellions are over since the start. In such circumstances, while Mars struggle to achieve self-sufficiency, Earth with an already long term enstabilished and prosperous economy can simple focus on whatever they want. They can put in space stations entirely dedicated to research. Even thousands of stations. And it will not compromise the ability of Earth to fight a war. In this lore then, Earth is backward due to the overwhelming population that have no jobs. Sounds frankly ridiculous. Who wrote this lore doesn't know much about economics. Or at the very best knows just the American capitalism since everything in this product is just a copy of America. Same critics every time. They could have done better but they didn't had a reason to write something genuine. Just to write something profitable. Returning to the scenario, a future Earth, united under the banner of the United Nations would probably be just by itself an already immense market. It means that every region of the planet is fluorishing with continuos economic activities made possible by the continuous needs of the population of fresh goods and services. That generate profit. On the long run, citizens would start to be by their own, self-sufficient. Given the pace of technological development and the abundance of resources offered by the whole system, Earth would become a sort of "paradise on Earth" where healthcare system, economy, welfare and even politics reflects such abundance. No more need of job with fully authomation, no more need to stock markets with digitalization and AIs. No more need of corporations with the population already owning, ALL 8 or 18 billions of them, of all the means necessary to start their own personal industry or economic activity. On Mars? They live like cavemen in confront. Rough life of the frontier, building structures, systems from zero, struggling with numbers and little help from robotics and AIs. We're talking about 200 years in the future after all. And we are experiencing these things just now. Then there are some obvious issues that are more technical. Mars can not be terraformed. Even if we try, we will just waste resources for centuries without ever hitting the target. The planet is simply too small to sustain an atmosphere, it's geology is dead, no geological activity means no gasses put in the sky to form an atmosphere. And moreover: no magnetic field able to protect life on the surface. Even if we magically get some advanced tech to create artificial magnetic fields, and that's not impossible to do, the real problem is how to make it enough big and strong to envelop an entire planet. The short answer? Just find a proper planet. Venus would be easier to terraform, in its current dramatic conditions, than Mars. But the fundamental problem of this show, or better, this lore, is that all of this mess comes from a single point: Mankind have not yet developed a efficient FTL technology. Nor an efficient Terraforming technology. Technically speaking, it is realistic to think that we could take 2 or even 300 years to develop such technologies. But if we don't in that span of time, given the current rate of population growth and our ability to fill the space of our Solar System... if we don't develop an efficient FTL technology in 300 years... well it will be pretty much over. Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn colonies etc will start the "War at the End of the Times". That war that will really put an end to all wars because at the end of all that there will be no more Mankind in every rock of this system. We want to survive? We need to get free from Sol. And possibly it would be better be all under the banner of the United Nations. Not because we like more Earth, but because the UN grants rights, civilization, order, security, prosperity, dignity, integrity and all the package of values that keeps us Humans and not beasts. And frankly speaking, Mars looks really like a fascist regime so... I wouldn't like to live under their rule.

👽👾👽 Maybe the sole human’s goal and purpose, is to transform beautiful planet eco system like earth into repugnant smelly vile garbage. We could well be undertakers of the cosmos. Nasty evil Super Heroes, the Undertakers! What do you think surf trektonics?👽👾👽

Yes if we ever spread throughout the stars, hopefully by that point in time we will have evolved out of our primitive desires of self gratification and instead be motivated by the betterment of the human race as a whole. However it is in our genetic makeup programming to be destructive, so maybe "the stars are better off without us" (Joseph Miller)
