Hannah cried before G-d with many tears. Guess what God opened her womb and blessed her with a most amazing son she named Samuel. David cried before God with many tears. No one needs to explain how God mightily blessed David!

I feel it's okay to cry. Shoot remember how Hezekiah cried and God gave him more life to live? God is merciful ❤

I've been praying about just that. I tend to cry when speaking with G-d. Not bemoaning, just extremely humbled and thankful.:o)

With all due respect, Rabbi, I believe it’s totally appropriate to cry to HaShem in prayer. He’s our Father in Heaven, so if his children cry to him because they’re sad, will he not want to comfort and help them?

What if you are going through hell in your life? And you know that if you pray, you will cry like a baby. Does G-d reject this?

You cry when you fall short in your service of G-od which is called Teshuva and we learn the gates of tears are never closed. These should not be tears of depression rather tears of regret and a realization of who exactly it is you have sinned against. In regards to someone going through difficult times one must gather his strength and Emunah and understand that G-od is in control and that all G-od does to in His world stems from an unconditional love for us which is far greater than one may fathom to understand. You must constantly strengthen your Faith in that way and once you do any hardships that comes your way you will accept with open arms and tears of Joy knowing that this is G-od s loving divine providence in your personal life even if you don't understand what or why rather you must take it as a message that you are called upon to better yourself in His service any every way you can think of. I recommend you read a Sefer/book called Garden of Emunah it has helped many many people, Jews and non Jews. You can also use King David's (of Blessed memory) life as a source of encouragement as King David was known to have one of the toughest lives faced by anyone in the Torah, when he was born he was thrown to the garbage by his family as King his enemies were chasing him down from every which way including his own son. Yet King David never questioned G-od s will or providence over his life rather he strengthened himself and poured his heart out to G-od with great love and acceptance. It is said that there is a psalms by King David for every person facing any type of challenge in life. Once you strengthen your Emunah there is no doubt that your sorrows in life will fade away into a distant memory. May H' guide you in your journey.

If OUR posture dictates GOD'S posture, doesn't that mean we are in control? Of course, no one would propose that we control God; he would not BE God if that were the case. So then all that is left is that we are to BLAME for the bad times in our lives. He wants to "bless us", if we just do the right things. But who knows what that really means? So we bump around like very superstitious primitives saying, "Oh; I did THIS and good things happened" or "I did THAT and bad things happened." It is like some sort of cosmic game of TWISTER where the whole point is to have a big laugh when the people fall on each other WHO ARE TRYING TO PLAY BY THE RULES OF GAME. Jews are supposed to be the light to nations. But they are not; they have been slandered and sidelined. So the rest of the world grows up groping around in the delusion of false systems. So we get these little sound bites of truth and try to patch them onto the canvas of lies we grew up in. It feels like I am painting a giant, black house white using a toothbrush. Too little; too late, if you ask me.

If you are not supposed to worship idols , isnt the wailing wall an idol ? Its a brick wall

999LDS, No... No one worships the Western Wall (and it isn't "wailing"). If truly curious, you ought to investigate a little via the internet or pay a visit someday.

No one is worshiping a wall! It is a holy place due to the Temples having stood there so we come here to pray to the One G-d Who is everywhere. G-d is equally everywhere but He reveals Himself in places where He wants us to learn about His Holiness.

is it a sin to cry in prayer?

It is not a sin but if you cry when you pray so does G-d cry when you pray. Wouldn't it be nicer to have G-d smile when he looks at you?

Why do you write g-d instead of God ?
@gutmanlocks
@gutmanlocks 6 жыл бұрын
It is just a strictness, not a law. The actual prohibition is not to erase G-d's name, so we do not spell it out completely so the Name is not really there to be erased.

We shouldn't write the real name of God, not these colloquial names. I think that's just exaggeration of Rabbis, same with "don't mix chicken and milk" that's not according to Torah at all, they just said that for people not to mistake chicken with some other meat accidentally.

Miloš Čečar, the rabbis you speak of were given the authority and the responsibility by HaShem to determine matters concerning Torah observance. Any good Jew truly respects such authority and is grateful for it. True, the Hebrew names of Hashem are on a completely different level than a generic English word, for example, which may even be a questionable "name" to use for HaShem, but still it is sincerely meant to refer to the One true Almighty Creator, so one wants to guard such names from being erased. Even Engish words such as Almighty and Creator may be regarded in the same manner by those who want to be especially careful. However, electronic displays of words are technically neither "written" nor "erased".
