you mean cause it's less B&Ming and more about the actual games? And not things he's blaming the devs as 'bad game design' cause he doesn't pay attention/isn't as good as he thinks he is? Yeah, best sequalitis ever!

TIM! What a fantastic video, dude! I share many of the same opinions about these games, but when asked which is my favorite I always say Kazooie. And I think you touched on why a little in this video. It feels more magical. It feels like a fairytale! I just love the atmosphere more in Kazooie. Also it's kind of funny, if you throw Nuts and Bolts into the mix, you can see this progression of mechanical mayhem throughout the series. With tooie being more mechanical than Kazooie and Nuts & Bolts being more mechanical than Tooie. Anyway, great video, Tim!

Thanks DOOD! Although I never really touched on it, I think the gradual addition of technology in the games sort of parallels the possible decline or collapse of humanity in general. Which really I don't even think that technology has made us so bad as a lot of people seem to think out there. Oh well. See ya at Pax Prime! (I just can't bring myself to call it "Pax West", heh)

@TheHellspawnHero8 жыл бұрын
This might sound weird, but... I think this is a better Sequelitis than the actual Sequelitis. Sure, the production values aren't as high (that's a given, since Tim didn't start out as an internet-renowned animator before becoming a Let's Player. I still think the drawing are cute, though) and a lot of the humor is reliant on the channel's own running gags and in-jokes (not a problem for most of us, but it could leave outsiders scratching their heads), but it nails all the points where Egoraptor's Sequelitis tend to fall flat for me. This video gives a clear, and more concise, sense that you genuinely love and understand both games. Hell, I grew up with both of them and I still ended up learning some new things. You spend far less time yelling and insulting a game (or worse, the audience) and instead, focus on analyzing both games on their core mechanics, level design, and theme, the things that actually make Banjo-Tooie comparable to Banjo-Kazooie as a sequel. You also barely ever got distracted or off-track, staying focused on what really mattered, which, naturally kept everything more condensed, and got out the same kind of information in about 10 minutes that Egoraptor would probably have taken twice as long to bring up. Oh, and you caught any mistakes you made in your speech and corrected them in annotations. Even in Egoraptor's first Sequelitis (before things really went downhill), he made a few mistakes that he either didn't do enough research to catch, or knew about but didn't bother to correct. I think the biggest thing that made this a good Sequelitis is that it clearly wasn't motivated by anger or spite. You weren't trying to "prove" anything. You were just analyzing two games that you loved, and it shows. This video was a joy to watch, Tim. Thank you.

I've given this subject quite a bit of thought myself and you hit just about every point right on the head! Well done! Kazooie left a much bigger impact on me than Tooie did. Wow, I really didn't see this one coming. And you're even comparing my two favorite games of all time. Great video NCS, I'm really glad that you did another Fake Sequelitis, and I hope you will make some more in the future (no rush dude, make them whenever you feel like it). Especially now that Egoraptor seems to have given up on Sequelitis and other animations entirely, these videos are pure gold. As for the BK-levels, I didn't think Rusty Bucket Bay was so bad, I think it had a very unique environment (take notes, Nintendo, there's more environments than just Grass, desert, ice world, water world, jungle and mountains) and I welcome the challenge it gave me. My least favorites are Clancker's Cavern (for obvious reasons) and Click Clock Wood (yeah, the season-thing was nice, but it was still just basically scaling the same tree four times, and it was extremely frustrating when you fell down).

What a pleasant surprise! I hope you keep doing these since Ego has said he doesn't plan to continue; even if yours are "fake". I agree that it's a tough call, but Tooie barely wins out for me as well. All the new features are great, and the levels are big enough to be fun to explore without being overwhelming. *cough*DK64*cough* And you totally guessed my 2 least favorite BK stages. Although in my case it's mainly because they are the most underwater heavy stages.

Another masterpiece, Tim. I've never played either game, and have only seen the bit that Arin and Jon did together a while back, but you manage to break things down to the point where I can understand what you're talking about. That's one reason I like these better than the "real" sequelitis videos. You DON'T assume we remember everything about every game you mention. The videos seem genuine and humble, not some high and mighty critic belittling something because you had a bad time with it 20 years ago. I love Ego, but you just do that aspect better. Regardless... keep doing what you do, Tim. Been watching faithfully for 7 or so years, and I won't stop if you don't. Also, more 8/16 bit summers, please! :D

I played Banjo-Tooie before I ever encountered Banjo-Kazooie. As a result, I will forever feel more at home playing the sequel than the original, just because it feels bigger, more immersive, and less clunky compared to Banjo-Kazooie. I've never finished Banjo-Kazooie but have 100% Tooie bunches of times. I just couldn't get into Kazooie like I loved the sequel really. Also, though I'm aware I'm in the minority, My favorite world is Grunty's industries, and, although it's been years now, back when I was younger, I had that place memorized like the back of my hand. My least favorite place was TerrydactyLand. Not sure why. I think it felt too slow-paced. This was amazing Tim. Even though you were probably right about Rusty Bucket Bay and Clanker's Cavern I still really like the more industrial settings. Like Grunty Industries, that's one of my favourites. Yay! My favourite game wins in the end. I personally adore both games but I always found myself more attracted to Tooie because it felt like the kind of game I've been wanting for a while. I actually like both games as they are both pretty high on my favourites list. And I love the Phoenix Wright/Ace Attorney stuff you put in. That's probably my favourite game series and I totally ship Tim x Ema now. You worked your ass on this, well done!

Great video! Been around since Mother 3. You're legitimately one of the best let's players out there and super under rated. Thanks for making this. You should make more speaky explainy videos like this!

As someone who has been following you since the jealousguy days, seeing you produce little rare gems like this is absolutely amazing. You truly are the whole package and your ability to entertain us in the countless ways that you do is even more amazing. this video has been a long time coming, and after finally watching it, I only have one thing to say. When's the next one?

I sure hate to make any promises, but for some reason, the month of December is floating around in my head. I did post the first one on Christmas Day, maybe I could start making that a thing.

It's completely up to you, if you feel motivated to do another then you go right ahead and do it. None of us would ever force you to make more if we knew your heart wasn't in it.

5:44 You were mostly right for me. Rusty bucket bay I think might be my least favorite, but Clanker's cavern is tied with Gobi's desert for second least favorite.

Completely agree with you on all accounts. Even the part where you guessed my two least favorite BK levels... That was scary man...
