Regarding Zemo's character development, I believe it is all perfectly in line with how he was presented in civil war. To put it simply, he has always been a "chaotic neutral" type. His allegience has always been to himself, he acts in his own interest without feeling bound by outside rules and does not inherently align himself with other factions. He is perfectly comfortable consorting with the criminal underworld but also seems perfectly happy to help Sam & Bucky as well, he had the chance to escape from them several times but always came back to help save them at one point even, so long as his own interests align with at whichever moment in time. He was special forces in his home country (nothing inherently wrong there, as well as nothing inherently outright heroic), he was even a fan of the avengers before his family died & afterwards wanted to sabotage the avengers (note the word sabotage, not kill) because he was motivated by the loss of his family (perfectly understandable & sympathetic motivation) and even had planned to commit suicide because his goal was for his OWN satisfaction & not because of anything outright villainous such as getting pleasure seeing himself win or seeing the avengers suffer. Besides T'chaka who if anything was killed accidentally, the only people Zemo killed were all HYDRA agents (and one doctor who he only resorted to killing him because of a flaw in his plan).

I think the purpose of the multiple insert shots of vials/tanks etc in the lab is simply just to clearly show the audience that after the fire started, this lab is a ticking time bomb. There is flammable liquid and gas tankers everywhere which will inevitability ignite (you’ll notice they also included a whistling noise that was building as they cut to the insert shots like gas waiting to explode)

I get the feeling they were emphasizing that Sam is way out of his depth, audience POV character while they flesh out a much larger world. A massive underground world that everyone else seems comfortable in. Madipoor I expected from the marketing but was not expecting to see Latvia. (bit of a stretch but i'm going with it.) Karli Morgenthau and her group the Flag Smashers stole them all, and from what we saw last week, all eight of them used the serum on themselves, which would leave them with 12 vials. Who knows what those other vials are, but it sounds like the Powerbroker was only interested in 20, and we're sure to find out what for soon, as the Powerbroker is sure to show up...if she hasn't already;) who were the 20 vials originally intended for? Now that Dr. Nagle's dead, Karli believes that the Power Broker is going to come to her with a deal of some kind. John Walker isn't quite his comic book self, though he's quickly getting there. All that's missing really is the Super Soldier serum. The Graffiti in Madripoor said that the Powerbroker is watching, is it a coincidence that Sharon Carter was watching them? She was branded Enemy of the State and has used her skill set to survive, and from the looks of things, she's living well in High Town, where Zemo said the Powerbroker lives. Sharon even told the woman she met up with that they had a couple of problems. She's become disillusioned with her previous beliefs. Does she still want a pardon or is she playing along? She knows that Sam and Bucky have issues with John Walker and Lamar Haskins. Is she going to drive that wedge deeper by giving them two vials of Super Soldier serum? Ayo's arrival has likely complicated things too, as she wants Zemo. She's the only Dora Milaje from Civil War that we all got to really meet. The Dora Milaje are the King's security detail. Ayo was part of King T'Chaka's detail, so I wouldn't be too surprised if she went to Latvia on her own to avenge her former King's death. T'Challa had a chance to avenge his father and he chose to put Zemo in jail rather than kill him on the battlefield or take him back to Wakanda where they most likely would have killed him themselves. T'Challa, Nokia and Okoye have moved on, but I don't think Ayo has.

I think they didn’t show a full on end game like fight scene when the bounty hunters got a text for 1000 bitcoins is because that would be super unrealistic . Sharon taking on 15 people was unrealistic enough although one could say that the shipping containers are pretty good non human covers for watching someone’s 12 3 and 6 o clock. 2) going to defend both Jaby and Achara for the Madripoor bit. Him asking if she’d been and her racking her brain , because Madripoor sounds very real. Unlike Asgard or Nidavellir . Madripoor has appeared more in comic books than on screen I think and you’re allowed to forget the details because one wouldn’t make a wolverine’s favourite city connection on a winter soldier show 3) Sharon is more than what meets the eye. She shot the woman, she was at the club like the power broker would be. Has the stolen art . Could she be the power broker ? The way she said we have a problem to her colleague? 4) the means sometimes justify the end but not in the case of the flag smashers . I never had sympathy don’t know why achara did? Some personal or govt inflicted conflict will always trigger someone but that does not make it okay to kill for sport. But she’s an intriguing character and so is her friend . The scientist did say that his new work wouldn’t feature jacked up bodies. I am also thinking Sharon has taken the super serum herself . I think the fight scenes were perfectly controlled to not give away that she’s on the serum , but her speed and reaction time ? There’s something there . 5) yas to all things wakanda 6) zemo vibing was hilarious 🤪 7) the new cap is getting on my nerves . His side kick has more layers . 8) the bar tender looked like a very familiar actor 9) actors like Michael Ealy , James Purefoy, Shawn Ashmore ,Laurence Fishburne etc who are so fluid in their craft and who would make perfect support cast for superhero films aren’t cast anymore ... 10) I need more info on the sokovia accord so let’s see where it goes from here. The thing with zemo is he is just consumed by anger and rage after his family died in sokovia because of fight between avengers and ultron. He develops hatred towards superheroes and is willing to go to any extent to destroy them. He is very smart guy and he has a softer side as well. Yes you are right Jaby, people watching this episode will be confused about zemo being nice and trying to help bucky and sam. He is doing it because their goal is to find and destroy superhero serum and zemo don't want superheroes to exist. They have a similar agenda here. If people watch Civil War again we can find many details and all the dots will connect. May be he has a secret agenda to act nice and them go back to being a villain. May be they will address this issue in upcoming episodes.

I honestly think Sam and Bucky enjoy the arguing. They like going at each other and it kinda comes out in stressful situations. It's the only way they can safely relate to each other and I really don't feel like there's ever any real heat behind it unless they're talking about the shield. That's where the banter comes from.
