The car stunt on the beach called a barrel roll set the Guiness Book World record for most barrel rolls previously held by the James Bond movie Casino Royale. If I remember correctly, it was 8 1/2 for this movie.

I first heard about The Fall Guy movie over a decade ago with Dwayne Johnson involved and I thought it was never going to happen. The first trailer was mind-blowing and i was all in. Director/producer David Letich has been on a roll. Stuntwork during the filmmaking sequences and action sequences of the core story are as phenomenal as imagined. A much-needed love letter to the stunt industry itself and how much it's given to blockbuster films. Major passion project for Leitch who came from that side of Hollywood. A Guinness World Record was set for the most cannon rolls performed in a car while making this movie (beach driving sequence). It's pretty much a movie within a movie with slight realism. Good cast, Ryan Gosling (Colt) & Emily Blunt (Jody) have great chemistry. The tv series (1981-1986) it's based on, i watched as an kid. It was created by Glen A. Larson along with Battlestar Galactica, Knight Rider and Magnum P.I. I can't believe they even had the GMC pick up truck (same color, new/old model) from the show, so happy. The story is as high-powered as it's hilarious and not just a tv series becoming a film. Seeing Lee Majors & Heather Thomas (the og Colt & Jody) in this made me spaz the f*** out. The Unknown Stuntman (Fall Guy theme) by Blake Shelton was sung by Majors himself for the tv series. Despite the box office, this was a good movie and a good start to the summer of 2024.

I remember them shutting down the Sydney Harbour Bridge so Ryan Gosling could be dragged across it. It was funny to them start the car chase in The Rocks/city side of the bridge, and when they get onto the bridge they're travelling from the opposite direction going back towards the city.

I used to really dig the tv show way back when, especially the opening credits that showcased the truck flying into the highway. Plus it had the six million dollar man. And stunt people get flipped in cars a lot. They’re harnessed in and in a roll cage. Not to say they don’t get banged around, but they take so many precautions. A fun stunt movie with crazy driving sequences is Hooper with Burt Reynolds. Also the Cannonball Run which stars him and is basically a rehash of The Gumball Rally and has a shit ton of cameos. Although you may not know a lot of them since you’re still relatively young.

Ryan Gosling's comedy delivery is spot on. Hope they make a sequel and they make him a bounty hunter like the show.
@geeebuttersnap2433Ай бұрын
Yes, and he needs to drive that truck like Lee Majors did in the show. Since stunt work doesn’t pay all the bills, have him start delving into bounty hunting.

Fox only released the 1st season on DVD. Apparently, sales weren't what they hoped and they didn't release seasons 2-5. Oddly enough, the series is showing on H&I channel on local stations. The premise of the show was that Colt is a stuntman, first, and a bounty hunter, second. Jodie Banks is his apprentice. Then Howie Munson, Colt's cousin, shows up and becomes an apprentice, also. Lots of different locations, including over seas. Lots of guest stars, great practical effects and stunts, people and vehicular. And Lee Majors sings the theme song. Just a great 80's show. You and Mrs. Movies would probably like the house Colt lives in. It was actually Glen Larson's, the shows creator, actual home. I've been hoping that now that Disney owns Fox and they want to make some money, that they'll release the series on DVD. HA! Wish in one hand.

The movie flopped for a good reason: it's too long with a lot of pacing problem. At least 15-20 minutes should be trimmed out of if the movie for a more entertaining experience. I was looking at the time while watching this movie and that's not a good sign. The chemistry between Gosling and Blunt doesn't always work and felt forced at times. This made me care less for the heroes when they're in danger.

I'd like to see Martin Caidin's four Cyborg novels(the source material for The Six Million Dollar Man) adapted into feature films with Ryan Gosling cast as Colonel Steve Austin and Robert Downey Jr. as Dr. Rudy Wells. The novels were slightly darker than the TV series which was toned down to make it more family friendly.

gosling is 10 years older than Aaron Taylor-Johnson and looks better. he and Emily do a monologue on SNL to the Taylor Swift song and they are both fans. They are so funny together in interviews. She says that when they were doing another take on the scene where she invites him to karaoke and they were walking up the steps and she did something silly and he said she should do it on the take and she does, the silly little kick. She says she looked like a dork and he is just sitting there grinning. She says it wasn't the only time she got "Goslinged". Gosling does the fall at the beginning, is dragged across the bridge and does the under water scene. Ryder did not accidentally kick him. Ryder sent the video to Gail. Jason Mamoa was picked for the cameo because he was close, working in New Zealand. The stuntman who pulls him out of the car did the record breaking stunt. The stunt guys ae in a lot of the promotional stuff, This is my favorite kzbin.info/www/bejne/fandZph4lNiMrMU
