Since the first insult she used was fat then I can infer that there is a good chance that she is fat and projecting it into me as an insult. And if she was actually fat then that explains why she got mad because I called her out on it. That’s the best I can come up with. These mercy players barely have a brain between them. The whole argument happened because she wanted one of our dps to swap because they were playing bad in a qp game and I defended them.

OW is an abusive relationship. We all reminisce on when it was "perfect" or the good ol days, nostalgia, etc. of early OW1. We watched this relationship over time consistently get more toxic and more draining, until the relationship is dead, but we still hold onto the little bit of cope of returning to those simpler, good times.

Rank system is so completely out of whack right now. Que times are like 5-6 minutes on support in Diamond 5. I And when you get a game the spread of these games is like Plat1-Diamond 3. I don't know if everyone quit this game, and they need to fill players, or if the new rank algorithm is completely screwed due to the MMR reset. Absolutely wild stuff. I don't remember overwatch's rank system being this uncalibrated in the history of the game. I have NEVER been Diamond 5 in overwatch in the last 6 years I have played. i completely disabled all text chat in my game cause you can't even argue back anymore when people start talking to you. also i believe the reason why even the top players are struggling to climb is because individual agency has been removed now that people matter more. tank dies? fight is lost. dps dies? you're down not just a dps but the team also has more healing because one less person to apply the passive. lose a support? well you lost a mid fight immortality that could have saved someone and instantly turned the fight because they have that much value. OW1 you could outplay everyone or if you lost a person it didn't suddenly mean the team had a massive advantage. mistakes in OW2 from other players hurts so much more.

Tank and DPS are the worst experiences. You get to play casino rigged matches where your healers can't heal nor see you. Then you see the enemy being fully healed despite making most all your shots a critical hit as Sojourn That's why l love being the medic, because l am in control of the healing.

It drives engagement due to the drip-feed nature I experiencing an extremely high level player once in a while. It also gives more competitive players a chance to learn the mistakes they are making (because the good player will punish them unlike the other players in that rank) and given a chance to learn what that player is doing to be successful. I never would have gotten GM in OW without playing against Smurfs.

What’s wild is people used to believe this was a “high” elo problem 😂. Over the last year and a half all the other ranks have been inflated too now so no one is safe. On my plat acc I play with a friend of mine we got someone on our team who was legitimately a Bronze 5 mercy 1TP. She was bronze 5 for 11 seasons…… To further add it wasn’t one of those “they don’t play the game 5head” this person had thousands of games played😂. She died 23 times in a 16 min game and we BARELY won. Afterwards they typed GGEZzzzzz to the other team and we ROLLED IN OUR CHAIRS. This clearly bronze player in now ruining plat lobbies and they don’t know any better. GM is basically diamond now, masters and diamond are basically plat to golds and gold now is just everyone else 😂. Inflated ranks = horrible team balancing = horrible experience = people not playing the game anymore. It’s sad to see what OW has become and the Blizzard Meat Munchers will tell you the game has never been better and all the people complaining are just “bad” 😂

As well as all the smurfs and the badly placed players in general, there's the fact that system and balance changes consistently thin the gap between different skill levels (think Clash's design or Wave Respawn in order to forcefully reduce stomp matches instead of actual balanced matchmaking and skill expression) and also the fact that there are a fuck ton of subtle cheaters also affecting the potential game quality. As if their newer systems weren't bad enough at estimating skill compared to the old version, there are more factors fucking with it.

believe it or not metal ranks are feeling this inflation too, i came back recently bc i was curious about the rank reset and started again this week. i’m usually between plat 2-1 and never fully reaching diamond. since then i have dropped almost into gold(mind you i didn’t stop playing for months at a time i only stopped playing for about a month or month in a half bc of school starting back so the skill quality i have hasn’t dropped) about 70% of games i lose i have one player who sticks out on the team and when i check their profile they were gold or silver last season. there’s no fucking way they should be playing in high plat/low diamond lobbies. that alone has made me already quit for this season bc it’s so frustrating to try my best, watch replays and see what i’m doing wrong and can improve on, just to get placed with a silver player on my team which is guaranteed an instant lost.

i think ashe was fine before bullet size increase, its just that she is way more reliable now... (pisses me off even more that they nerfed soldiers bullet size), but i still rather play against ashe every lobby than against widowmaker every 20 lobbies... ashe is also one of the few dps, that can break illari pylon behind walls

I was honestly having a lot of fun at the start of Season 12. It felt fresh again with just a massive dump of balance changes, but as it has gone on and especially after the mid S12 patch it just feels so bad. I can’t even blame one thing in particular it just feels bad as a whole. Role queue mystery heroes is kinda fun though.

The one thing I geniuenly don't understand is buffing every really easy hero and making very hard heroes (like genji) absolutely useless. I find it really cool when I can execute perfectly on hard heroes but almost always it feels pointless since I can take a braindead hero and win the game.

It drives engagement due to the drip-feed nature I experiencing an extremely high level player once in a while. It also gives more competitive players a chance to learn the mistakes they are making (because the good player will punish them unlike the other players in that rank) and given a chance to learn what that player is doing to be successful. I never would have gotten GM in OW without playing against Smurfs.

Before most games had a comp or ranked version (earlyish 2000's) You would be basically pub stomping most games, or goofing around vs players that clearly didn't need your full attention. But every ounce in a great while you would come across a actual great player. It was amazing, you could see how they positioned the tempo they played at. Didn't matter what genre of game there were things to learn. That is lost now, sure a low mmr player can get on youtube or twitch etc and watch a high level player. It is a completely diff experience to play against them and see it first hand. Should you be facing one every lobby, no again back in the day it was like 1- 20 games you would match up against someone like that as being in the .1% of a player base means there aren't many of you out there. You didn't get pissy because they were in your game using the protective blanket of mmr to hide behind you just said holly shit the skill ceiling is that high? You would start to implement how they played and it would elevate you higher. Again It's not healthy to go against all the time, but every ounce in awhile its a refreshing wake up call. Lastly most "smurfs" in overwatch imo are playing with low ranked friends or on an account they use to goof off with, they are not even really trying.

This entire season ive had only 1 game where the entire team comms and there isn't an annoying dumbass spending more time typing in chat flaming others while they're 3/7. And one of those on the team was someone ive duo'd with once in a while so it only half counts. Every other game out of 150+ has just been either complete silence or some idiot insta flaming after 1 lost fight, and whadayaknow its often at me for "hurr durr lucio swap/lucio any heals?/" And in all the roles it just feels like a gamble whether i have decent teammates or i just lose because of a torb player with no motor skills and blah blah blah i should take a break from this garbage game honestly

As a high ranking player and someone who does game dev as a hobby for the past few years I can explain exactly what went wrong with the recent rank reset and its really just a simple fix. First of all recently had flats in a game and bro he just needs to stop playing he has gotten so toxic, he is hardstuck masters (of his own doing) and I just dont want to see him in my games I used to enjoy his content and it makes me sad. The rank reset overwatch did removed your mmr, what you should do is bring everyone back a step and make their ranks volatile, meaning wins and losses are worth more, just your standard placement system, a "rank reset" is just a way more aggressive form of a seasonal placement. since they weren't doing seasonal placements (this is ok) they decided to do a bigger rank reset. (this is also ok) The fundamental thing that makes rank resets work is they dont remove your mmr, they just step back your visible rank and change gains. my rank got ruined by the reset and many other people i know did. When you decrease everyone's mmr, and dont use any type of hidden mmr system what happens, if you are like me you queue a lot of games at the start of the season, being a gm/top250 player im against a lot of really good players pro players streamers whatever else but im literally diamond-master lobbies. I lose all my calibration bonus and i end off in around masters 3 after going literally 50% wr. If i were to not queue at the start of the season, like one of my friends did and wait a month you would instead be a grandmaster level player in full lobbies of genuine diamonds and low masters and proceed to win like 70-80% of your games because your basically just smurfing. Im still in masters because i cant be bothered to care and havent soloqed in ages, i know a champ player who got stuck in masters because of this. Of course if he waits and then just plays a bunch of games he will climb, but im basically forced to wait a month or queue roughly 200+ games to get back to my original rank Important to note ranks are not inflated right now, they were inflated if you think a gm player is boosted and "wow he plays like a plat" you are just wrong as a player who plays in gm, yea stupid things happen yea we sometimes dont take it serious but we are all required to still be some of the best players in the game to maintain that rank. There is a reason i cant simply just queue for a day and go from gm5 to gm1.

I was rank 1 all roles at the start of last season and have been usually getting and maintaining top 100 for 8 years now as well as now coaching the game for a living. Never in the entire history of the game have I seen such unbelievably shit players in high elo, while also seeing incredible players perm stuck in lower ranks. It is not uncommon to find players that were plat/diamond a few seasons ago now in GM, counter picking and meta slaving while outputting some of the most braindead plays imaginable. Ranked is completely fucked.

It's still humiliating to me that the really skill-demanding characters are just dead. Why play Cowboy when you have a powerless Mei with 300hp, self-healing and escape ability, moreover, her damage at range and projectile size are much larger than Cowboy's. Why play Soldier, try to aim, who does pew-pew, and can't kill anyone, because his damage is dog shit, and tanks after the changes of the season two-three ago get less damage to the head? This game has become too casual, with an emphasis on broken characters. I put time and effort into training my aim in kovaak's, whereas in the game, even if I shoot well, I will just get spammed by Kiriko, who throws a bigger kunai and suzu under herself and then teleports when I leave her with 5 hp, playing as Soldier. Like, come on, how many times do I have to hit one of the smallest characters in the game in the head? And she only needs to do this twice, with a larger hitbox and larger projectile size. And what upsets me the most is that it's like no one wants to pay attention to how broken some characters are. No one cares and you'll just be called a loser.

I yesterday uninstalled again because they buffed Moira (AGAIN FFS) and in the same patch they decided to "fix" ledgers. The problem that no ones asked to fix for 8 years. By doing it they broke Shimada's climb ability. They fixed catching up to things in air but that buggy animation when you climb over things that messes up the aim was stiLl present. Can't have sh*t in OW when you are Shimada player... Once again another nerf to Genji. Any change accidental or deliberate is a nerf to this guy (this patch give both of them), I can't. Just I can't. Apocalypse will happen earlier than OW devs will buff Genji instead of nerfing him or at least will stop to break him. At least I was happy to Hanzo get finally normal, but no, they increased his bow charge speed. Awesome... P.S. My friend recommended me the game called "Ghostrunner". Pretty good game about cyber ninja with almost any ability of a Genji that fights with enemy and parkours out of big facility. If you are Genji gameplay addict like me that can't get rid of OW only because of Genji gameplay I recommend to play that game. It's time to drop OW for your own sanity. This game allow you to have Genji gameplay and even experience what OW2 promised, TALANT TREE. Seriously, you can choose how to buff your cyber ninja. Yeah my games in quick play have been the same way. Sometimes I don't even know if it's matchmaking or just the fact that counter picking is so easy and momentum based. Sometimes people just want to play a character that gets counter swapped and then they get rolled. Honestly, I don't even see a reason to play quickplay at this point. Competitive has somewhat more stable matchmaking (less stomps, although it's still really lopsided_.
