Heya! This is Ignite 168/Iggy. I go by Iglw now and still log on to OSRS every now and then. It's absolutely surreal that people are still telling our story so many years later! I think I got credited for a few things that were already in place before I inherited leadership from Blackbane, but overall I'm amazed that you went through and did reenactments/animations of our cult events and even some of the stories we had in the GBoK. For the record: Cabbage tastes great if you cook it properly My suggestion: something we had often as kids Several pork loin chops with prepped and chopped cabbage or whole cabbage leaves, after boiling the cabbage for a bit and salting the pork chops and/or adding your preferred seasoning (I suggest slap ya mama Cajun seasoning) add both to the same pan and bake them together in an oven at around 350-450 degrees. The flavors perfectly compliment each other and mix together, so the cabbage has a juicy meaty taste when your done because it soaks in the flavors and juices from the chops. Also great if you're on a budget. We would cook them in a portable roasting oven when I was a kid when we lived in a camper/old school bus in the woods.

The 2007-2009 switch from Social-centered play to Grind-lording was such a bummer, even though I did fall into it as well. I miss our little country clan just hanging around...such good times. Also, I didn't know about the order of cabbage but experienced their shenanigans hahaha. Glad to have an explanation now.

Yeah man. Not having a purpose is real. The great thing I've learned looking back on all this cabbage shenaneghans is that there's no rule that you have to have your life all figured out... just that you are making progress towards something. Anything. No matter how small it is. For me it was cabbages, and learning to meet friends, and organize groups... and collaborate with people. And then trying other things in life until I found something that sticks. And almost 20 years later.... just picking (pun not intended) small things to focus on year after year, school, work, learning new skills.... eventually one of them sticks and you figure out where to start next.

I think Reddit and blog posts, interviews and videos from jagex, he’s a good journalist. Edit: I found a video from Runescape Historian about the cult, from 1 year ago. And I think Colonello just reused his script. Kinda L ngl. Runescape Historian has a folder with the sources linked on his video discription. Cmon, Colonello, do your own research or invite the videomakers you used for a colaboration.

Around that time, most cabbage spawns were changed from objects on the ground into scenery pieces, which would have their respawn behaviour programmed very differently. Scenery pieces look better because they can have different orientation, among other graphical benefits. From Mod Ash

If the meaning of the clicks is all subjective, you can convince yourself you enjoy clicking on anything if you attach meaning to it. Cabbages gives you permission, a blank cheque, to attatch any meaning to it. Whereas leveling up your skills/gold forces you into a box where your numbers are compared to everyone elses meaning of gold/level.

The other very human thing: man feels hopelessness in life and cannot even find enjoyment in a video game at a young age, with all the time in the world, so he starts a cult to feel important and like life has meaning again. Truly amazing stuff. Don't let this guy near a government or army or philosophy book is all I'll say. You'll have a next Lenin or Marx on your hands. Of course, then gets rid of it when in-fighting starts. Very cute, haha. Note: An extra twist is that he wanted it secret. Not uncommon to find such a Hermetic sort of root. We see this all the time these days. It's also not as uncommon as you think that they start to break due to in-fighting. Only great leaders can controllers can actually stop the in-fighting or use it to their advantage. Clearly, in this case, it wasn't very helpful inside a fairly niche video game.
