You know what's really depressing. This video. lol, I remember watching a tutorial on dragon platelegs when I was like 17 like I couldn't imagine being in my 40s playing this game and the guy who wrote it was like nearing 50.. And here I am 36. lol, wow. and that was right around dungeoneerings peak where it was a totally social busy at the time skill/minigame or whatever but everyone involved was droned zombie depressed about leveling it. lol there were always huge hickups like 1 guy didnt know how to unlock the room and we would all just like sit crashed like omg get it over with lol

This is a really adorable story rare to find stories that have not been talked about a ton! I really love that her an prime stayed together through it all, just imagine how different life would have been if they had not logged on wanting to cut some logs, or her wanting to use some logs its wild makes you really think about how tiny things can have huge knock on effects. Im happy you talked about this its was very sweet.

@stxejn8 ай бұрын
I think it's the opposite of sad. They did what so many people dreamed of. They found love on the opposite ends of the world and were able to actually meet and be together in real life. That alone is amazing. Then they had happiness living together through their adventures of RuneScape. The story doesn't have the happiest of endings. But they loved together and died together, a feat that so many couples struggle with today. I think it is an amazing story of dedication and commitment.

I've lost 3 childhood friends who I grew up with playing this game. I was the last of my friends group who continued to play. I've decided recently it's time to let go. I've searched for the nostalgia I was looking for and found it. This game still has a special place in my heart like all of yours. This story is a beautiful one. I only wish I had the will to write mine, but my pen is out of ink, just as my heart is out of love for this game now. They say: "All good things must come to an end, and every story has the same ending." Good luck out there. God speed. I hope you find what you were looking for like I did. @GsQDoom Thank you for your kind words. I know that life is short, and we shouldn't take it for granted. I've faced many challenges myself: from cars crushing me to many emergency room beds over the years. I always asked God why me? I have a family now and wish my friends could be here to meet them. I've held on to their memories through this game all of these years. I know now that I don't have to play a game to hold on to that memory because they're always going to be with me. I hope we all find happiness and purpose. Never forget those who brought meaning to your life just as Marlaine brought meaning to Primes. Every story has the same ending, but it's up to us who we want to share it with. One day, I'll write mine when it's almost over. Take care ❤️
@GsQDoom Жыл бұрын
@@SR-fw3zw Thank you for opening up, I think that you should continue to do so even before, when it's almost over. People tend to let it slip the mind that we are all in this together, the experience of life. Although it's easy to feel each unique experience as exactly that per individual, there's a good bit of revelation that comes from learning of the experience of others. It tends to help one or many not focus too much of the raindrops on the windshield, but rather of where one is going and that all roads lead to one. Peace and love, friend.

Man, that anecdote about her writing “Smiling” to be more genuine is just so sweet. It was good of you to make this video and I’m glad that the game was able to bring more happiness into her life. It’s easy for things to spiral downhill after an injury like that but instead she was able to find a community to help foster. It hurts to think she was taken so soon, same with her husband whose last year was probably not a happy one. But we are still thinking of them, and that’s worth something. In some small way, I think you’ve really paid homage to all forgotten victims of common tragedy, and that’s worthy of respect. It’s one of the highest purposes of art… to be able to relate our stories to others, to be understood and remembered, empathized with and learned from all at once.

Thank you for letting us know about Marlaine, it sounds like she lived a really interesting life and was talented at a lot of things. I was scared when the boyfriend was brought up that it'd end with him leaving but them spending the remainder of her life together was really heartwarming.
@Aztwecas Жыл бұрын
I don't think it's sad. It really just speaks to the fleeting beauty of life. They were brought together by chance and, perhaps slightly unknowingly, through the early internet , they shared what would become their life with a community that we've all been apart of. Their lives speak to a nostalgic time which many of us still cherish. It also really sounds like they were dedicated, loving, and kind people who sacrificed and endured a lot to be together. While they're no longer here, it feels like each of their blog posts is a little wave, and the video a huge smile from lives lived well. It's intimate and lovely story.

Thanks for sharing this Colonello. Marlaine and Bradley Floyd's memory gets to live on much longer. The thing I love about hearing about old Runescape players is that there really are some beautiful stories there. I was really young when I started RS in 2008 and to think that I lived among these people at the time is an interesting feeling despite not knowing them then. I enjoy the stories of older RS because there wasn't such heavy reliance on official data like datamined guides or information -- stories were built on the individuals who played the game and more often than not, the pureness of those people oozed out to their legacies in the game. People like Marlaine and Bradley, Chessy, and TheOldNite. May the newer generations and the older ones who may have not known them get something good from hearing about their lives. When things in the world seem big and bad, its these little stories in time that may remind us of the beauty in its own space.

What an incredible and heartwarming journey Marlene had! Her story is a testament to the unexpected ways life can lead us to extraordinary adventures and connections. Marlene's dedication to RuneScape, her passion for blogging, and her kindness in helping others truly left a positive mark on the gaming community. It's heartening to see how she found love and companionship through the game, and her story reminds us of the beauty in the chance encounters that life brings our way. Marlene's legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew her and in the memories she left behind. She may not have sought fame, but her story has touched our hearts, and for that, we are grateful. Thank you for sharing this beautiful tale, and may Marlene and Prime Falcon rest in peace, knowing that their love and adventures continue to inspire others.

While the story is sad but it's also warm at the same time knowing she and her husband experienced joy in life. While their journey was far from easy and had a lot of hardships but they got to enjoy each other's company. It's a shame that he waited for almost a decade and still didn't get a working permit. However, at least it meant he got to spend more time with his wife. It's something very unlikely but I'm glad they found each other in a very unlikely situation. Good thing they both are awesome good people. It's clear they have had financial hardships unfortunately to say the least, but they didn't let that get in their way. Financially it would have been easier for him to return to Australia and work but he stayed for her (I'm also assuming they were unable to migrate to Australia, perhaps due to her poor health). Regardless while it's a short few years but at least they had each other which I'm sure they enjoyed their time together thoroughly. Who would have thought, the random guy who bought the logs and him making the mistake to sell it would create such a situation between them. If it wasn't for the guy who bought the logs, it probably would have just been him selling the logs to her and that would have been probably it.

The quest where we help out a love story between two feuding sides of an island. And subsequently get Managing Miscellenia, where she too owned/managed a shop "Marlaines Miscellania". But i guess that was just another random chance of her life and RuneScape seemingly but not directly influence each other.
