So I actually jumped ship after The Force Awakens and you will not believe why. It was what I considered a soft reboot. The formula was more or less the same but modernized and I was living in a big city at the time I left the theater I turned to my brother and husband and was like it’s not for me guys and I was fairly happy with how it looked and I did not hate Rey at all and I loved Finn, even Kylo was… well he was one dimensional but Adam Driver did what he could. However I was angry they had in my opinion played it so safe, soft reboot, and sure the OG cast was there but it almost made the soft reboot less plausible caused some plot holes. And my brother and husband stuck around and watched more movies and I couldn’t understand why. Thank you for at least explaining it.
