The Proven HAPPINESS Formula You Need Now - • Mo Gawdat's Happiness ...
I truly believe that we’re living in the greatest time in HISTORY - creativity, innovation, and opportunity exist like never before. We’re blessed to live in an abundant time, where so many of our desires are met instantly - at the touch of a button, the click of your mouse, the swipe of your thumb. Social media links us to people all over the world - we can count the number of “friends,” and we get a dopamine boost with every 👍🏻, ❤️, or 😂.
The crazy thing is, that most of us believe that kind of instant gratification = happiness. But what we’re really experiencing when we’re focused on what we GET in life is the ILLUSION of happiness and fulfillment. We live in a culture of EXPECTATION where we are focused on ourselves and our own needs. And when our desires and expectations aren’t met IMMEDIATELY, we feel lack, loss, frustration, rejection…all states of suffering.
But the TRUTH is, what makes us TRULY happy in life is NOT what we GET, it’s what we GIVE. After all, the secret to living is giving!
When we make the choice to focus on appreciation, growth, contribution, and LOVE, we’re making the conscious decision to live in a beautiful state - no matter what. 🙏🏻❤️

The first thing to do when you wake up in the morning is to thank GOD ( or whoever you believe in ). Starting your day like this will continue the momentum of gratitude created throughout the day. If you are going through something bad and you are still okay and your mind is racing, and you are talking bad about yourself in your head. Remember to be thankful you are alive, the situation you are in someone is praying for while on their deathbed. Be Thankful! Life is too Short!

@@bjorn6956 - Okay, I see. You said you were very emotional when you asked her, I'm thinking she probably didn't really want to say why because she hated seeing you sad and didn't want to hurt you even more. There's also a possibility that she really didn't know, or perhaps it is because you changed. She could be one of those women who confuse bad boys with strong men. @@nomad9338 Maybe I was just projecting then. I don't actually have any interest in starting a business. I just want to be free from the threat of poverty, and not have to submit to bosses and customers, or a schedule. That would be so awesome if we had like a UBI or an RBE. Too bad our politicians are damn near useless! They pretty much almost never fix anything. That's why in my desperation I started turning to gods and self help gurus. Unfortunately they're just as disappointing if not more so. The gods won't perform any miracles on my behalf, and the gurus just try to get me to adjust my attitude - which isn't easy. "Every problem is temporary but your soul is permanent." ABSOLUTE TRUTH. I did personal Power waaaaaay back in 1991 (and it worked for me) and have kept up with Tony off and on, as part of me attuning then numbing to self-awareness over the decades -- but most of that time while recognizing self-awareness... not recognizing or seeing the existence of "consciousness". To me, self-awareness and consciousness are different things. I've really REALLY become attuned and recognize consciousness in recent years and it's changed everything. Anyway, it seems to me that Tony's focus has evolved. The common theme of his recent message suggests he embracing the soul and the spiritual more than he did in his earlier days. I submit that even these icons of self-improvement are themselves improving; hopefully ever exploring and exposing themselves to concepts and dimensions beyond their current state (no matter how well or profitable things were previously). His very last statement in this video totally suggests this. Good for you, Tony!

I wasn't expecting Buddhism to be mentioned, but this clip got me thinking on the point I would disagree. Yes, expectations ( or in a more Buddhist term, craving ) create suffering, I think we can agree on that. But to want to live happily everyday, isn't that expectations again? And the choice to ignore sadness, isn't that delusion? I really thought about this "choice to live positively" thing, either I haven't really truly mastered it or you have to be extremely delusional to always be positive. My experience puts me towards the latter. I don't think you realistically could/ should be positive 24/7. Shit happens. And people do fall into depression due to the "I choose to be happy" mantra. My definition of positive thinking isn't "I have to be positive in all situations", but rather along the lines of "it will all pass." My thoughts from a Buddhist perspective is that the end of suffering is when you transcend from happiness/sadness. You understand that both of these things happen, and they follow one another. Once you TRULY understand the extreme edges of happiness & sadness, that they are not permanent and for the most part out of your control ( non-self ), you stop clinging to have to stay at one particular place. Happiness is just a state, it will pass. And so is sadness. The ironic part of all of this ( + a lot of other Buddhist practices ) is that you do get happiness, but it's a different kind. It's happiness that comes from peace & ease with the uncertainty of life, not borderline delusional "I have to be happy 24/7".

You can control how you want to feel. Always is a choice, maybe a unconscious one. Eliminate your bad emotions or replace with others. Or you don't believe that the mind can be trained? Block you ANTs regularly and they will disappear more quickly over time. ANT automatic negative thoughts, a concept from Tony's books. You can google it

@@gastonangelini8352 I don't mean to be a downer, but these teachings are nothing new to me, and I don't agree with your claim that I can always choose to control how I feel. I can choose to be mindful of my feelings and attempt to tweek them, and sometimes it works for a little while, and other times it doesn't. In fact the attitude that I can control how I feel often just sets me up for disappointment. I have GERD, I am poor, I don't want to submit to wage slavery, and Tony's teachings aren't making things noticeably better for me.

real change and transforming your life start with yourself. Maybe you are not putting the hours into making yourself better. Time is our most valuable asset, you can't recover time that you have lost. Negative thinking is draining your precious hours. START TO WORK on yourself bro, no one will do the hard things for your life. Then you will need the energy to work on those hours, trying to repair all your life leaks. Energy is obtained by food, sleep, exercise, positive thinking (videos or. books), meditation, time with your family or friends, studying, etc. Energy+time = productivity What are you doing with the 24hs of every day? Good luck with your journey. No one said it was easy. Some days will be harder than others. Good luck
@thatcopenguy

@@ZeitgeistLegacy truth. There's a threshold of how much we can control over our emotions/ mind, and beyond that if we try to control it too much it wonders to the opposite direction. The mind doesn't like a control freak. And sometimes the best answer is to be sad. Not to be a downer, but just to let emotions flow naturally. I often say "I just want to be depressed for a while" when I really have no energy or have tried everything to "fix" my depression. The irony is that it makes me laugh because that phrase heals me a bit. The pursuit of happiness can be depressing if you're not careful, and there's a lot of wisdom that needs to be developed to know when to take control & when to let go. Anyways, all the best of luck for you man ✌️

My expectations of this video certainly set me up for disappointment. This is good stuff to teach children, but what about those of us adults who have already heard all this stuff before? I mean it doesn't exactly address the elephant in the room. War, corruption, poverty, wage slavery, our archaic education system, the healthcare system, the legal system. Most (if not all) suffering is caused by systemic factors. I want to know what the fastest way is to legally, easily and un-awkwardly get super rich, so I never have to work at some shitty job again. Let me know when you've got a good, honest answer to that one.

One of the great things I've learned from Tony is that your brain functions in a way that is always searching for answers. If you ask yourself questions like, "Why is the world so fucked up?" your brain will start searching and trying to find the answer. But if you ask yourself questions like, "What is something good in this world?" your brain will also start trying to search for an answer. You can take this even further. "How can I make a difference in this world, and enjoy doing it?" You may not always come up with an answer immediately, but your brain will shift its focus to try and find it. When you become passionate you will keep searching for those answers. I know that doesn't answer your questions on how to get rich quick and easy or how to fix our world, but maybe it will help you a bit to try to look at it all in a different way. Take care

I can do what I'm going to do in a state that's healthy and grateful (then die), or I can do it in a state that's unhealthy and ungrateful (then die). Regardless of what I choose to contribute to this world, I can liberate myself from self destructive energy, or I can use what "they" are doing as an excuse to poison myself with it. In my opinion, the first option is superior...especially if you intend to spend time researching / exposing / weakening a system that's been designed to enslave us.

When you suffer 20 years later from an ex hanging himself at your house when you were 17, he was 18; you couldn’t save him, it destroyed me, I couldn’t live in my home with my family anymore, I couldn’t be there. 20 years later I’m still stuck with guilt and trauma, it affects my children bc I have some ptsd and worry I’ll lose them tragically if I let them play to rough they could snap their neck while doing flips(ex broke his neck) I’m confused… what expectations do I have and what should I appreciate about what happened? I saw the rope… I was 17, my last words to that poor guy was “you’re stupid, you’re not gonna do that” I was 17! Suicide wasn’t real to me back then, he was cheating on me and I broke up with him, what do I appreciate about not just grabbing him by the hand so that his mother would still have her son? He would still have a life? His little brother and sister would still have their big brother? Basically if I would’ve thought what if back then, what if he actually hangs himself, things would be different… so now I what if every freaking thing and I’m fucking tired of it, I’m so mad at myself for not loving myself enough and not seeing my own worth until kind of now, at least now I’m realizing I’ve never loved or cared for me since then, I’ve turned into a people pleasing monkey, I’m like actually kissing myself in the mirror and apologizing to myself for neglecting me for so long, don’t even know me outside of wife and mom

I want to do that. And I am so grateful but I hate my job. I am in a call center job where I feel brain dead. It sucks the life of me. I feel I don't learn anything and I don't enjoy it. And yet I am work 8 to 10 hours a day in my desk answering calls and looking for new jobs. And getting rejection emails and thinking I am not a loser . Life is happening for me not to me. Yet it's one call after another and all this is coming at me and I just don't know how to go from this state of discontent to a state of gratitude when it is paint to me. All I think about all day all week and apply for jobs and network w people and look for new opportunities but every rejection email is like another failure and I often think if I am what I really think I am or am I delusional? Lord I just want to be happy and feel a fire inside of me in my job. How do I do that?!

being grateful for being in pain is antithetical though isn’t it? some things are just not welcome amd need fought against instead of pretending they’re okay. like, should we be grateful also that billions of animals are needlessly killed every year? tens of thousands in the time it took to read this. i dont think we should just accept things that are basically unacceptable. that’s letting the system perpetuate its cycle of suffering upon us
