Thanks to my Patreon Supporters for making this content possible! And thanks for coming along to hear my first impressions on the Giulia. The steering is very fast but fixed, so it feels Natural. I'd love to get a long term barebones Ti Sport RWD (with LSD!) to feel out for a month or two. I got instant "old world" BMW vibes from it so fear not...the classic tactile sport sedan isn't dead.

I have a 2018 Giulia Ti Sport which is a near identical twin to the one in the video. Some small nits: Firstly, the Performance Package [mechanical LSD (limited-slip differential) and driver-adjustable active-suspension control] is standard on the QV only, as an available option on any Ti, but unavailable on a standard Giulia. While the aluminum shift paddles themselves are part of the Ti Sport package, which is a Trim level only, the Performance Package [AR provides a Q2 badge on the trunk lid unless the vehicle is already a Q4.] is a separate option. The Ti and Ti Lusso get shift paddles only when the Performance Package option is added. Secondly, the sport seats are identical in construction to those standard in the QV but with different upholstery covers. Big and/or heavy people will find them uncomfortable.

@@derbigpr500 I will have to disagree with you, especially in more recent times, but also in the past. Chrysler has always made some of the coolest and most exciting cars on the market. Their cars were always full of character and interesting. I mean, they make the best look modern car on sale today, the Dodge Challenger. There were countless times when Chrysler and its subsidiaries took a chance and made something risky that paid off. Do I need to even mention the Viper, all the SRT products or the Hellcats? Who else made a V10 manual truck? Who else is currently selling at 700 HP+ sedan, coupe and truck that is relatively affordable? Even in recent times, except maybe the Pacifica, which is actually a cool minivan on its own right, Chrysler only makes cool and exciting cars. They offer so many cool 400+ HP variants of their Dodge and Ram products. Ancient as it is, even the Chrysler 300 always captured attention and had a cool factor about it.

As an italian i'm very sad about this alfa situation, everyone and i mean EVERYONE says that the Giulia is a charming and decent car, many reviewers consider it the best in class but nobody is really buying it, even here in italy it is not that common on the streets, i personally love it as i love the 3 series, i just want alfa to sell and keep building good cars.
@155stw
@155stw 3 жыл бұрын
The problem was the older Alfa’s, and worse, the old and maybe current reputation of Alfa dealers. most other dealers will take care of you, Alfa or FCA may leave you high and dry. The product reliability is the same across most euro car makers. At the end of the day the dealership network is what makes the difference if all products are competitive with each other. Alfa is definitely class leading right now.

@lukefox01
@lukefox01 3 жыл бұрын
@@giugalu5869 Have only had it for around 6 months so not much maintenance. The only work I've had done so far is there was a minor check engine light for the charcoal evap canister that got water in it somehow. Even the 2017s are still under warranty right now so I got that done for free. I've heard online from many owners though that the car is overall pretty solid and reliable. I've heard a few people say average costs are about 30% cheaper than MB, BMW, or audi. Haven't gotten an oil change yet although I've heard depending on place anywhere from $90 - $250 for oil change. Better off doing it yourself or going to firestone or something instead of dealer. Oil changes are every year or 10k miles though so not bad once you account for interval. When I priced tires they weren't too bad, about $170 a peice for a good quality tire although can be higher if you want a super good one. If you have reliability or maintenance questions the Giulia Forums are great place to ask or look for previous answers. Would definitely recommend the car though, haven't had it long but don't regret buying even for a moment. Probably one of the best cars you can get for the price and allows you to have something premium but also unique as german cars are a dime a dozen on the road.

I really dig this spec, except RWD. Unfortunately, Alfa doesn't really have a middle ground between the QV and the 'normie' sedan, but a Ti sport with an LSD is legitimately fun.

I had 2017 awd 2.0 280hp all of the above is true. It was with the same 19 inch well - best looking wheels ever, the white is good but in red... simply you can’t stop looking it. It’s indeed very engaging to drive... it was stolen :( I bought Stelvio... more practical (i got 2nd kid meanwhile) also good to drive, but for suv... it doesn’t feel so special to me, i’m again thinking for buying Guilia. I didn’t have any issues in terms of reliability for the both cars, so far. I got minor squeak from the plastics of the Stelvio when the road is bumpy... (most of the roads in my country unfortunately) but it’s negligible

Alfa Romeo used to be the umbrella company of Ferrari back in the day. The times when their only intention was to prepare for the F1 races as compatitive as possible. This model, Stelvio, Maserati Ghibli, Maserati Levante is part of a Geneva project, which is basically a program where Ferrari is all responsible for producing these cars’ engines. So, by looking from an unbiased standpoint, I can definetely say that Ferrari’s motor is a-way more better than BMW’s, Mercedes’, Porsche’s all combined. I would definetely go for an Alfa Romeo at the end of the day.

The exterior blows me away considering this isn't even the true performance trim. I am in love with those rotary dial wheels, they match the car perfectly, and really show off those nice big brembos. I am an Audi guy first and foremost, but the emotion that this car evokes is very tempting.

i have the 2016 base model, rwd, regular dampers, manual transmission,with 17" wheel and single exhaust, BUT early ones are lower on the ground, since my 2018 and awd ones had higher suspension, so wheel arch looks a little "empty" due to higher ground clearance.

I think this is my new favorite entry in this segment. As far as I’m concerned, this is the actual new 3 Series. Best driving car in this class BY A MILE, even if it has some other shortcomings. But I could probably live with those personally. I’d get mine in a Lusso Trim in Visconti Green with the beige interior and swap on summer tires.

If the car is anything like my Moto Guzzi motorcycle, it has a ton of lore and legend about how it’ll leave you on the side of the road because it’s Italian ...when it all reality it has some quirks but will be one of the most reliable machines on the road. It will ALWAYS get you home where it’s some other manufacturers that you need to question

I briefly had the chance to drive a RWD TI sport 2 years ago. I just remember taking a highway onramp and leaving everyone behind. It felt so planted and placeable. The steering was fantastic. Also, another perk of the 4 cylinder models is that they’ve been significantly more reliable than the Quadrifoglio models. Great video!!

This really is a fantastic car. It's a pity that noone realises this. Here in The Netherlands, some people still think that an Alfa will always break down, so they still buy the obvious BMW 3 series. The all-wheel-drive 2.0T version is a lot more expensive here though:62000 euros without options. Maybe that's why nobody buys one, it costs more than a BMW 330i xDrive. And the Alfa Romeo depreciates a lot faster.... Which is sad, because I think the Giulia is so much more exciting than any BMW.

I personally think for the price its under powdered. These engine have the ability to push 330-350hp stock. And matching trq. They need a model between the Giulia and the QV for around 55k starting. Like Merc and BMW do with there "M line" or "Amg" trims. Which give more power and better performance but not quite the big boys numbers

I've had a Guilia for almost 2 years and it's been trouble free. The steering is very quick and darts into turns. Engine is quite good for a 280 hp turbocharged car. Since these cars don't sell very well, it's quite easy to get $5,000+ off asking price. So, the actual price range of a base or Sport is really around the mid $35k range.
