In the USA its all about what one pays monthly!! Doesn't matter who its with (or who represents you) Platinum is Platinum & medicaid is the bottom. Your level of care in between is what you paid last year. The marketplace is just another AUDIT

I have heard that UH uses AI to approve or deny claims with an increasing emphasis on socio economic criteria. So a wealthy woman's claim is denied, and her wealthy son gets pissed off and seeks his vengeance. I don't know if it's true , but it certainly makes sense based on what seems to have occurred. This is both sad and infuriating. In this instance, two lives have been destroyed. In addition, we were told that with the passage of the ACA that healthcare would become more affordable. It absolutely has not. Healthcare costs have skyrocketed, the quality of care has gone down(this is what happens when gov't controls any industry), and insurance profits have skyrocketed too. As healthcare consumers we were lied to by everyone.

I DO NOT condone his actions, however, people when pushed can only take so much. For me, a United Healthcare patient I have suffered immensely from this CEOs policies and greed. I was recently diagnosed with SEVERE spinal stenosis. Before I was ALLOWED by United Healthcare the diagnostics needed to determine my condition I was forced to endure months of chiropractic care which caused me immense pain and suffering and actually made my condition worse. All I can say is I hope the 10 million dollar salary spends well in HELL. That will be all.

The really evil people that run United healthcare tell him what he's supposed to do. They stay hidden away behind board members. I'm going to refrain from commenting on what happened and UHI because I'm a patient in the Canadian Healthcare system and CONTRARY to some of the BS out there about outrageous wait times etc. (propaganda spread by US Insurance) I will say this, over the years I have had various medical issues being dealt with including removal of a kidney (cancer), a double coronary bypass and follow up care for that. The ONLY thing I had to pay for was 45 dollars for an ambulance trip to hospital at one point. ALL things I have experienced with our healthcare system (Ontario) have been exemplary, fast and efficient. Don't believe some of the BS that you hear about Canadian Healthcare.

When my pain dr does a procedure my last insurance company said no anesthesia bc it isn’t medically necessary. Full disclosure, I don’t have that insurance company. And I won’t name the 2 that did this. Would I unalive somebody for it? Nope. But it’s hard to feel bad.

Insurance companies are in business to make profit. That is understandable. However, insurance companies whether health or home and auto, have become greedy. A neighbor's tree fell on my landlady's shed crushing it. According to the laws in our state the neighbor is not responsible. When my elderly landlady contacted her insurance company to put in a claim the lady she spoke to outright told her "If you put in a claim for your shed we may not renew your policy". I was there at the time of the conversation as my landlady is hard of hearing and she uses speaker phone. That is threatening an elderly person as far as I am concerned. My landlady spent out of pocket to have the shed demolished and removed. My landlady was beneficiary to her husband's and brother's life insurance policies. In both cases the insurance companies were pulling stall tactics to delay in paying. They would request a document. Send it in and then they would request something else. This went on for months until they finally coughed up the money. Funerals are an expensive proposition in this day and age. I was surprised by the lack of empathy for the victim and full support of the suspect in the various comments on this recent event. Given the economic troubles of the last four years where many have struggled to survive I can understand peoples frustration. It is sad that this event had to happen but it is a reflection of the current state of our society.

The killing was personal, but it was also symbolical, so the choosing that the CEO was killed walking to a meeting of shareholders who profited from the business structure of increasing financial gain by refusing to provide medical service. What I find deeply concerning is this type of violence becoming normalized, different yes but akin to school shootings. Prior to the CEO's ending he was also dumping stock... No one should be comfortable.

It’s sad that we live in a richest country in the world and people are dying and suffering because they can’t see a doctor or they are scared of the bill they will get if they have no medical insurance. America and our “democracy” is a big lie IMHO. Victim was getting paid 10 million dollars a year to do his “job”. While I don’t agree with what that guy did to him also angers me to think how many people have died from not getting a proper medical care. And sure as hell if you owe money to them or God forbid the government they will come for you and harass you forever. So that dude that got deleted paid a price for working for his evil masters that are only about money.
