Personally I probably wouldn't use reverb on some distortion pedals as it makes it sound like it has a hall effect and maybe just wouldn't use it. Although I have a line 6 spider v 20 amp and it has a ambient effect on there i use with my other pedals and it sounds pretty amazing when i record my covers. So with that said happy playing and enjoy looking for that great sound! smiles...!

Thank you for the content! I have a concern, I own a Champions 40, the clean channel is great but with distortions as the rat or boss blues driver sounds pretty bright. I tried the tweed channel as you said on this video and sounds fantastic, but I’m concerned if this eventually will damage the amp -or preamp- since are mid/high gain pedals -I read this on reddit- . Also I was thinking about buying the boss GE7 but I need to save money now. Thank you bro!

Dude makes a good noise. I'm not sure if they stacked the drive's or they were used one at time. Sounded good for an inexpensive amp. Rock on!

Hey Derek can the Fender Champ 20 handle the Pod Go well, it’s essentially a digital processor that replaces a pedal board and I’m thinking of getting one to have different tonal options and effects to go too.

Question: I'm a beginner. So if the amp has a good selection of effects already built into it why use pedals? Conversely, if you're going to use pedals what's the point of having an amp with built in effects? Why spend my money on something I don't need?

As another absolute beginner, I haven't REALLY felt the need for pedals outside of that "wouldn't it be cool to have" feeling that just comes with getting into electric guitar. Like yea, the voices and effects works well enough, but do I WANT a RAT? Do I want CH-1 Chorus? Do I want a DL4? Yea of course I do. Do I NEED them? Not yet. That said, there are some features I want that aren't on 20 and wouldn't make sense to be built into an amp. Like the only pedal I've bought so far is an RC-1 Loop Station and that's been great for practicing timing and rhythm without a partner to practice with.

You can use multiple effects at once and shape the effects more with pedals, more liberty when it comes to using pedals for your effects.

Would prefer to hear an amp not "Miked" ... I heard this amp not miked , and I thought it sounded weak -- with very little sustain at all .. Notes dropped dead as soon as string was plucked.. Thanks for the help ..
