In her first scene they establish Leeloo's super strength. Unbreakable.

-The evil entity, when talking to Zorg, said, “Money is of no importance.” (It didn’t say anything about life.). What it did say, is correct, from its point of view. If the evil succeeds, then all life is wiped out, and money really IS of no importance. -Plavalaguna may have abilities we didn’t know about. Snakes can eat animals that appear too big for them; In “The Mask,” Stanley Ipkiss (as The Mask) stretches his mouth to cartoon super-wide dimensions and eats the dynamite, so as to save the people in the nightclub from the impending explosion. If Plavalaguna has ‘impossible’ vocal chords, why couldn’t she also have an “impossible” ability to open her mouth really wide & swallow the Stones? :) -I think the idea was that Leeloo's first body was resting in stasis, inside the sarcophagus in Egypt. When human rescue teams brought the remains back to Earth, what still existed was the equivalent of one hand and part of a wrist (inside that still-surviving piece of the sarcophagus.) Part of that tissue had a few cells that were still alive. -The movie is tons of fun, infinitely rewatchable. I love that the humans are still receiving paper mail (that slides down chutes), and are NOT using smartphones (to be fair, the film came out maybe 10 years before the first iPhone.)

That makes sense for Plavalaguna, as she is by our definition an alien species, and probably does have extra-terrestrial abilities outside of her vocal chords. she is telepathic, so why not? I love this movie too. It never gets old, and always does a good job of putting you into the characters shoes like no other. Thanks for all the fun points!

RE: Why earth? The priest said that if the evil entity stood there between the stones, in Leeloo’s place, it would give it enough power to wreak havoc for thousands of years. Just like the evil entity emerges when there is a planetary convergence, odds are that there is some sort of power convergence on earth, at that time, that powers the stones.

Oh, I believe that. When you get that wealthy, there's nothing left to experience, so I can see that being his reason for what he did. Good Observation!
