The revelation that Rudy was not the "hero" summoned to save the world is perfect for the story. The world wasn't his to save, everything he did was down to his own choices, not some predetermined fate. And that's perfect because otherwise it would have undermined the whole narrative of the story.

the "shes waiting for you" answer Sylphy gave to Rudeus when he asked for Eris killed me, i cried so much it was hard to keep reading haha. Prologue zero is like the last set up Rifujin left for us, is sad to think that well need to wait a long time for that story to be published but i know it will be amazing. So, about the story as a whole, i think is perfect and that perfection comes from one big difference compared to the rest of light novels, focus, focus on character development and relationships, focus on a story with a clear objective, focus on a way of writing we dont see often, free of deus ex, free of things that happend out of nowere for plot convenience and full of preparation pre writing, it is clear from the first volume that Rifujin knew where he wanted the story and characters to go and thats, sadly, something other writers dont do, you mentioned Overlord and i must agree, in my case i had that experience with Re zero, i started reading it after MT and the diference is monumental, Re zero felt so amateur and is such a narrative disaster that i couldnt keep reading it, but with MT i actualy think is even better on re readings, you can notice all the foreshadowing moments and the little pieces of information that became relevant like a dozen of volumes later and it feels complete, it feels connected and it makes sense, thats also why i think the end feels so good, you are not thinking "why this happened?" "why this character did this thing?" "were did that came from?" you think that makes sense" and thats a key thing to think after you finish a story, just perfect overall, little nickpicks here and there? ofcourse, but i dont think they are relevant enough to take away the satisfaction this novel left in me.

Mushoku tensei changed my life. I was pretty depressed in the past and close to a shut in, but that was all before I ever read MT. I had gotten over most of my internal issues by the time I read MT, but despite that it still had a massive impact on me. I never had fully appreciated my family before MT, but after seeing the incredibly impact Rudy's family had on him, and how much he was willing to give for them, it helped me understand my own family better. My relationship with my parents wasn't bad, but I feel like MT really made me able to love them like never before. Without a doubt, MT is the media that has had the biggest influence on my life because of how it allowed me to gain a much better understanding of family. In addition, MT made a bunch of small changes, like helping me not be so hard on myself when I fail, or helping me to appreciate the moment I am living in more. It truly is a magical series. I could not have asked for a better end. It takes so many of the themes that have been developed over the course of the series and throws it back in your face. I do need to actually read the light novels and not the just the web novel, but I really want to do that in Japanese, so I'm waiting for now.

The Miko as a girl in love who caused the Rudeus to be reincarnated to the six sided world. Best Girl Sylpie "the love goddess". You know she held the family together in Rudy's absence. Rudy's plan to push Nanahosi as the inventor an improver of magic in the world worked. Love that Roxy protected the pansu at the funeral. 5,000 people to say goodbye to Rudy. Best son was Sieghart. Wait for his story in redundacy chapters. Rudeus got Lara and the boy in Rudy's vision. Lara noticed him. My only regret is Rudy did get to meet Paul, Zenith and Eris in the afterlife.

Any plans on reading Old Dragon's Tale? I think you'll get some hints of what's to come in the sequel series by reading that; plus it's an all around great little bit of story and lore. It's also the only work aside from the main series that has a great fan translation already out.

"Look, maybe this isn't for me to say but give it your all, okay?" and "Your happiness is my unhappiness" are probably some of my favorite lines in Volume 26. Even after all this time Rudeus was only living for the happiness of himself and those he cared about. And for their happiness he would do whatever it took even if his enemy was god himself. In the end, his fight wasn't a matter of hatred but of happiness and so he sends off his "mortal enemy" with a wish of good luck and kind words knowing he did his best and believing in the ones that he left behind.

I really need to read the LN for 25 and 26. They weren't available when I finished 24 so I read the web novel. But this video is making me relive some of the emotions I had during those last chapters. . The author is good. He isn't perfect, but he's my preferred style. I've got the first 4 volumes of orc eroica. Maybe I will check on those in the meantime as I wait for the redundancy LNs

as im reading the redundancy chapters atm, i cant help but feel proud, proud of rudy, his family but most of all rifujin for creating such a masterpiece. as i read the tears are endless, and as i have been reading the LN for over 2 years now, and followed the series as a whole for 5+ years, there is a great sense of nostalgia, i truly feel as though ive lived with these characters, their personalities and their stories. i will be honest, the LN does it the best by a long shot, i will miss rudy with all my heart but im satisfied with how his story ended, however i feel like theres a gaping hole in my heart, like somethings missing

Rudueus is one of my favorite characters in fiction, and this story left me feeling satisfied. It has also inspired me to try to improve myself, cause even a garbage human being like him could become an admirable person.

One of the things that I always found interesting in my mind is comparing the future Rudy that went to the past and the main Rudy when he was on his deathbed. Comparing both their accolades, ranks, power scales and in general how far they reached with the magic/mana they were blessed with. 🤔

The question whether or not Mushoku is a prequel is confused because the younger generations (people under 35 didn't live in a world without prequels, so the meaning of the word has changed. The main point isn't if there is or won't be another story (there probably will), it is if Mushoku Tensei stands on its own. Prequels and sequels are always connected to a main story. They get made because they come with an in-built fanbase (generally speaking). Mushoku Tensei is the story of Rudeus' life and it stands on its own right. It does not require a sequel. It is finished. That last chapter tells us how Rudeus came to this world, how he affected the world, and ultimately that the Restoration Miko was born into the final world, which means that Orsted finaly won.

I hope that if the sequel comes out, it is written as its own stand alone story as well. Re-explaining everything. Redefining the world, power system, explaining characters that we already know. Wishing Rufujin picks a character that we can root for just like we did for Rudy. Perfectly imperfect.

From death to birth to death....No story has done it better. *side note* Zanoba is the greatest friend ever written into a story. Loyal to the end, holding the door back while the Millis Church burned Rudeus's family alive. Only tear I shed while reading the whole story.

There is some more Mushoku related content, but the main story is finished. Redundancy chapters: A bundle of short stories, all about important moments in different characters lifes after the main story. Old dragon's tale: A story about the time prior to the six sided world's collapse. Centered around Laplace before he got split in two. Jobless oblige: I only know it exists, have not read it myself.
