There's 1 or 2 places by appointment only, otherwise it's a 15 mile drive to a place open 3 days a week or a 30 mile drive. So, Thanks for what you're doing and good luck in Texas!

Brandon has convinced me ,from watching a lot of his vids, about gun ownership and I really like that the first thing he says is ; you can show people that hey guns are cool and you can be safe about them. Its a healthy starting point to the conversation for both sides.
@ALonesomeStreet
@ALonesomeStreet 7 ай бұрын
I agree that showing people how to use guns safely is important, but what Brandon stands for is more, unrestricted access to and use of firearms, which is why America has such high gun deaths. It’s creating the problem, and then claiming you’re the victim when people try and prevent it.
@Eye_of_a_Texan

@@ALonesomeStreet Freedom is messy and dangerous but worthwhile. If you're argument is, "Only the government should have guns." Then you must really trust the government. Considering that all politicians are lying, manipulative self interested scum stains, I for one don't trust them at all. Watch some police videos and maybe you'll come to understand why I'll think long and hard about calling them if anything goes wrong here at my house. It's probably better to simply bury the issue myself if possible.

"What do you see as kind of the biggest infringment on gun rights" I'm torn between the 4473 background check system, and taxes. Everyone who legally buys a firearm from a dealer is subjected to the backgroundcheck/registration. Everyone. And its the basis of knowing who has what, whats being sold, and the key to saying "no, you can't have one". And everyone who pays a tax on their right not only has had their right turned into a privellege, but they've been forced to fund the very tyrants who are infringeing upon their rights As far as Texas, the biggest concern is urbanization. Everything is growing, cities are expanding, rural areas being erased. Austin and the other blue cities damn near already control the state, urbanize a little more, drive people to collectivist ideals by crowding them together all the time, it won't be long until Texas is a blue anti-freedom state

This is a really useful conversation. It's one thing to complain about government overreach, its another to sit down and talk about the nuts and bolts of it. That conversation is where normal people realize "hey, that reaches me". I live in Illinois and am directly impacted by their constant struggle to take regular old guns from regular old people. The other important point is that something is legal, until a law makes it illegal. My sons are in their teens and their generation has been raised with a government that is out of hand, and they see that as the norm, not as a violation of trust, a violation of the limitations on governance imposed by the constitution. Teaching young minds that they deserve freedom rather than manipulation and management will be a big task.

I don’t go to the range as much as I used to, but I used to be there a few times a week and there was an old man who came to pick up brass and shoot the shit. Our conversations started with him saying some pretty fuddy stuff. Then his disdain for the government and Vietnam history came up after a while. A couple months later he showed up to the range with a rifle instead of a bucket. Turns out he sold a few old rifles that hadn’t been shot in over a decade along with a shit load of brass that he was never going to get around to reloading or shooting and bought a really nice ar-15 with modern optics, a laser, a flashlight, and a plate carrier with rifle plates. He said just in case. The conversation has shifted. There are definitely less Fudds than there used to be, but some of them are seeing the light and waking up to the modern age. It turns out old dogs can learn new tricks if they decide they want to.

Love the attention to detail of this sort of podcast/interview. You can tell Brandon really values this sort of thing by the fact he checked all of his outlets for listening devices before the interview. xD

Great convo Mr. Herrera, I love this discussion and talk; I would like to see a discussion with you and someone on the “dark” side as well. You are very professional and think this will be a good outlet to see the mindset of both sides. I hope we can have civil discussions in the future!

Thanks for all you are doing, putting your money where your mouth is. You are definitely making a difference. As a boomer, I really enjoy watching your videos and support your efforts to run for office even though I don't live in Texas. Here's the "but", I don't think you are always fair in your description of us boomers. I have heard a few people say the "I like my old guns but no one needs an AR or (insert your own modern firearm). They were mostly my parents generation and younger libs. As for me and most of my boomer friends, we love all things guns and see the advantage of newer, modern technology. I still love my 1911s and lever actions and M1a's, not only for nostalgia but they are still fun to shoot. I also love customizing my AR's and wish I could afford fully automatics. I would love to have an AK with the fun switch, but, you know, eating, utility bills and gas. Keep doing what you do, you are the future of the gun community and no one does it better. Just realize that some of us are boomers only because of physical/ not mental, age.

I feel the biggest problem is that the government no longer fears the people and the people fear the government. That is not how it should be. To keep a country free the government should fear the people

Not trying to spread discontent……Colorado guy here……. I give money to those that help me. We are under attack out here. RMGO is the only organization that is directly helping us….I BELIEVE. If true, then we need to fight locally and if/when we can give to other organizations that help fight 2A infringement.

Wishing you the best of luck Brandon on your campaign. We need more people like you representing the citizens. Thankfull for groups like FPC that are fighting for our rights as well.
