Fun point about Treyni: If you remember previous episodes (most notably from season 1), the Dryads are considered really strong. Remember, Treyni even cut off Laplace's arm when he and Gelmud were fleeing from Treyni. (Part of the Orc Lord arc) In this scene, Treyni uses her holy aura/energy to inhabit the orb. Rimuru then adds an equal amount of demonic aura/energy to the orb to stabilise it and have her use it as her core. This suggests that Treyni now has twice the energy she had before. That's a huge power-up to an already incredibly strong being.

@Device Detective A bit of explanation and small spoiler at the end: Uhm actually no. If it is a one versus one battle, Gobta will surely fall short to Yamza. Even with the swordsmanship and intuitive battle style he possess. The novel clearly stated that Gobta only managed to parry the attack because the sword he had is on par with the sword Yamza had. The energy he shot from the sword can only be used once because his magicule count is very low. Twice, if he were to exhaust himself and be unavailable for battle. Also, in the novel, it was explicitly said that Gobta managed to dodge the attack because he had high intuition than other hobgoblins. Comparing the two, Yamza is an A-rank majin, hovering in Calamity Class, where Treyni and other dryads, and also the beastkeeters lies. Meanwhile, Gobta is C-rank due to his low magicule count and inferior species. Fully equipped Gobta is only at Hazard class (B-rank at least) which is a step lower than Calamity class. In unification mode, he is at A-rank but is still inferior due to the said magicule count. Only when he achieved his final unification form with Ranga did he reach Disaster Class (remind you that Ranga supplies his lacking magicule amount since Ranga is a high-rank monster species). So for now, in one versus one battle of the two, Gobta will definitely lose.

Good episode but remember Slime is not Dragonball. It is a very complex story with long schemes betrayals and twist that's why the meetings are so important. That's why I think Walpurgus will have a discussion about Clayman before any actions can happen.

Ok, few things, Suphia is flying by using an art called flying run, she's basically just kicking the air constantly, they just animated it like that. Compared to her, Ranga flies using skills that have to do with the wind and stuff, and Milim probably uses gravity manipulation which Rimuru got from Charybdis and helps him fly nowadays. They didn't mention Benimaru's skill also gives 30% more power to anyone under his command. The pacing...Gobta should have avoided the attack 3 times, not 2, and they skipped some lines/explanation when they were with Treyni. Also, Alvis had her guard down a bit because she had a feeling there was something, which was Gobta. And about the meeting, don't forget Shuna is going somewhere too.

I'm glad you pointed it out, but yes, this series' biggest problem has been pacing. It's tough to balance the world building, which is really important, and ending it at a climax which I think they should just sacrifice so the story flows better. Also, what Suphia is doing is cutting the corners with budget. What she's doing is called Flying Run/Air Walk, I've seen it translated both ways. It's the same thing Ranga did against Charybdis and should look the exact same. She's supposed to be running through the air, not flying like Superman.

I feel like the pacing criticisms can be extended to the whole season, part one and two... Some people become very intense when this is mentionned but to me it seems like they have a few important roadblocks they want to hit at specific points in the season (Rimuru's transformation as a demon lord, Walpurgis, the war and fights that just started etc..) and they are filling up the rest with book details even when it's not crucial to the story. I mean... Having a 4 episodes meeting leeding up to the walpurgis is an overkill, especially seeing how they delayed Ramiri's warning by having her reading mangas even though it was a litteral cliffhanger in the previous episode. It really seems like they were simply buying time. Also I don't get why they keep telling us everything about everyone in advance like that. Coming up into Walpurgis, we pretty much already know the informations and objectives of Clayman, Rimuru and even Leon and Guy. We also know what happened to Milim even though it was supposed to be a mystery to everyone! I hope the anime proves me wrong but I really don't see how we could get any important surprise with these conditions and it kills half the excitation for me.

I don't think that they were trying to slow down the pacing in this episode. You have to remember that there are an abolute crap ton of characters in this show. They probably needed the time to properly set up everyone's battles.

That was a nice reuse of Gabiru's attack animation from back in S1 (the Orcs vs Lizards battle) just recolored him and added his wings is all. Seems padded, huh? Well surprisingly it really isnt (at least it doesnt seem so from the Manga chap.s), from what I read of the manga it's pretty much going more or less as I saw in there. Sometimes the pacing of the anime just comes off as kinda wonky compared to the manga or possibly even the LN (havent read it, couldnt tell ya). I guess that's just how it is when they're adapting a certain stretch of a Manga or a LN and then shoehorn it into a 24 Ep. season. Probably would have been better they had a few more Ep.s to use but then they'd screw up the scheduling of other animes I suppose.

The pacing of the anime looks slow because the politics and world building aspect of this particular volume of novel is very heavy. If you read the novel, you will see that most of it are so full of plotting and political discussions rather than full blown war and fights. Even the succeeding volumes are the same. They are heavy in discussions then ends up in a full blown fight. If slime series is still up for adaptation for the next volumes, you can expect them to be the same. Though it is as interesting as this since the scale is much larger to be honest.
