To know that Walt felt like a big kid at his own theme park and seeing that smile just warm my heart and that fact that Disney was created by all the adults who still had that child like heart in them when it came to cartoons and movies and tv shows

As I read the comments below, I realize to an even greater extent what a special person he was. As a "Baby Boomer," I experienced his genius in many ways, and as I grew older and entered the film Industry, myself, my respect for the "Disney Magic" never stopped growing. Today, my company stationary carries the line "Practitioners in the Magic of Imagination." Those words are my personal tribute to Walter Elias Disney. May the magic he created defeat the greed and hate so prevalent in our world today. We still need you, Walt, maybe more than ever..

Thank you for posting this. My eyes teared up when I saw Walt’s last picture at Disneyland 🥺 I was a 4 years old living in Puerto Rico when he passed away. I would’ve LOVED to have seen him in person. I do have my own “Disney” story though. When I was 12 years old, I came to live with my sister in Los Angeles. Fast forward to the mid 90’s. My sister and I were at a restaurant called El Cholo on Western Avenue. Back then, depending on the time that you went, you gave your name for a table and waited at the bar area seated in these comfy couches. Sometimes the wait was almost an hour. So, we’re sitting there waiting and listening for our name to be called. Suddenly we heard “Disney, party of 4, Disney party of 4.” All of our eyes got HUGE! The place got pretty quiet as we watched Roy Disney Jr, Walt’s nephew, walking through the area with the rest of his party on their way to their table. I recognized him immediately! I remember thinking that he looked so much like his uncle Walt. That is the closest to seeing “royalty” that I’ve ever come to. That memory is etched in my mind. ❤️

Watching this brought tears to My eyes 😢 and now My heart Breaks more Because not only is Walt Disney gone But so is his Legacy, and that was NOT what he wanted our CEOs today care about what Walt wanted, what Bob Iger cared about was only what Bob Iger wanted, and now its about what Bob Chapek wants, But they wanna do is make it look like Walt Disney never made Disneyland or Exsisted in the First place, no one will what our Parents or Grandparents Grew up with, I can only say that I'm Disappointed in how poorly it is handled, and that Mr Disney's Legacy and Tradition is Drowning in the Swamp thanks to the People who are now Running it. I can only say Walt thank you for what you have given us as a Mouse named Mickey to begin with, to Snow White, and more Amazing Masterpieces thank you for your Disneyland Theme Park, I'm sorry Walt that your Legacy is Vanishing hopefully someone will bring it back in your Honor and Tradition, RIP

And now Bob Iger is back baby for 2yrs to fix up what Chapek has done. Sure the Michael Eisner brought the magic back through the 90s and saved the company. Bob Iger brought back Oswald the Lucky Rabbit back to Disney after 80yrs on his first year as CEO. Walt would be proud of Eisner and Iger for their work. Sure you can questions some their choices, but they saved Disney and protected Walt's dreams.

I spent the summer weekends of 1967 and 1968 at Disneyland. Admission was $2.50 and $3.00 respectively. Of course most Californians already had coupon books stuck away in a desk at home, available for the next family trip to DL so using those was an inexpensive way to go on rides. But my main goal was to enjoy the entertainment - particularly the bands and comedians. Early Disneyland always valued great entertainers, unlike today.

Wow, just loved this Documentary! Great writing/story, editing and sound! Loved the narration and content. I love this but It makes me so sad to know Walt is gone. I never realized he died at 65! Wow he seemed so young. I mean I am 64, and I still feel like a young man (most of the time) lol. I'm not really sure if we will see another Walt Disney in our lifetime? I mean it seemed like through his hard work and imagination it all lined up for him, hard fought I know, but it still it "mostly" worked in a positive outcome. How would someone do something like this again? Animation, live action, theme parks and more, not sure if we will ever see it as it was done like Walt and his crew did it.

Not sure why you'd think that. If you watched any footage of the design and building of attractions, he always featured his imagineers and designers and would tell who they were and what they were doing. He also showcased the Sherman Brothers quite often and would have them perform whatever new project they were working on. I'd say his workers were credited quite a bit.

You still address a former president as president.

@@FindTheMouse That said, I like your tribute very much! And it's the first time that someone links that footage for the Radio City "Follow Me Boys!" presentation which I am quite convinced was filmed the very same day as the Florida Project footage as you allude to too! Two last footages shot the same day ... There are some documents on the web from Marty Sklar that almost confirms that! His recollection is a little blurry! :-)

The person that he said goodbye to was Imagineer Marc Davis. Normally he would say "See ya later", but this time stopped in the doorway (at Davis' office at WED) and uttered "Goodbye, Marc".

65 years old was an average age to die back in 1966. Walt Disney didn't die young, he was an old man according to 1966 standards.

Walt Disney would be very sad if he saw how the company has taken over everything because he only wanted to make the world a happy place

Clearly you don't know much about him. I suggest learning more before trying to talk for a man that isn't here to talk for himself.
