I stand by what I said on the group. It's a shocker and I'd still rather have my trophy over it. I agree with what you said though about having something off the charts. Trophy r-r has got a good ring. If you're going out make it stupid special and people will want it.

Thats what i mean mate... Also, they've made 4 times as many as the R 😂😂 so the R is more exclusive, and now similarly priced, and comes manual... The positioning of this car is so confusing

Get a "second-hand" Megane Trophy-R for 50k euro. They all have under 10k km ofc not the carbon wheels pack. But heck it's the best price for a Megane RS. They will go for 100k euro in max 5 years.

I drove the Meg 4 Trophy-R and it is a special car to drive. You can feel the ultimate sharpness without even driving fast. You can sense it's made just for the race track. Though I'd have to say my 300 horses 265 is just nearly unbeatable in the involvement and feeling of the car department. I'm not sure the Trophy-R is the best driver's car RenaultSport has created and I'm not sure I'd trade my 265 in for a Trophy-R that comes with 4 wheels/tyres only.

I know someone who got one in Portugal for 35k. It was a media car and the dealership couldn’t sell it. That price including the carbon wheels

Totally agree ash why not add at least 20-25bhp over standard trophy add carbon bonnet maybe make the paint Matt instead aswel but definitely going to miss new RS models 😔

Nice video 👍 I reckon Renault have had loads of trophy’s sitting in a garage not selling and thought let’s put a few stickers on and change wheels and say it’s limited edition 😐 The final car should of been a very special Megane even Better than the trophy R , something like a 2 door , more power , better spec . I just sold my trophy R , only had for 1 year , Had the squeakiest brake discs ever and Renault didn’t even want to help out with it being in warranty and only a few thousand miles . Renault have lost there way , such a shame , I will always like the R26R as 1 of my favourite Renaults .

Had mine for 2.5 years , fukin terrible car , i have to do all repairs myself , renault pathetic when it comes to warranty , the dealerships are a discrace !

Tbf I think that it's cool thats its a limited car with a plaque and it's a bit different with the decals but it is genuinely so disappointing that they never gave it a bit more hp and just added something more special to it, such a shame its not coming to the uk aswell and I presume like the previous iterations the head up display will only be for the left hand drives which is annoying I'd happily get one at some point just to say its the final rs model and will probably be a collectors piece later

Think it's an insult really that this car is not coming to the UK, probably their biggest market for years. I'm probably bitter as I was about to order a new Volcanic Orange RS 300 when they pulled out of the UK in advance of Alpine (still waiting for their new models). But to be honest, they have absolutely no chance of selling 1976 of these cars as a supposed limited edition model!! 😂

It's a pointless car. Should of gave it 360hp and R26R like spec. Aswell as doing a limited run of a clio RS16 with the megane engine. Would sell mega easy over here in the UK. Utter disappointment from probably the best hot hatch maker over the last 2 centuries

I thought the 300 was already no longer available, thus RS had already died. So this model came as a pleasent surprise, being better than nothing, but obvisiously looking at it as a send off for such an epic brand, it's quite disappointing.

Well put mate. I personally think trophy R was the peak for RS as far as performance goes, but would have been nice to see something really special, maybe super exclusive... Just because things are unobtainable for us doesn't mean it shouldn't exist, thats where some of the best cars came from.

Just to let you know all EU trophy cars had them wheels as standard just UK and Oz didn't and hud isn't available in right hand drive cars and there not even coming to the UK which has been there biggest market for 15 years so I agree your right it's not good enough

@VersionOne just by making the rear doors as rear quarters and the front seat can recline fwd .as for expense it's the last rs with a huge price tag I'd need significant changes .ps don't forget when it gets warm you said a while back u will organise a meet rs3 vs 4 when I we spoke in one of your other videos

Because we're talking about the newer model megane mate. This is nothing about the previous gens... This video specifically about this being a crappy send off for Renaultsport, no ones taking away from the mk3's being great, thats pretty universal especially between the RS community, I've driven many and they're awesome.

@@VersionOneUK yep , the 4 Door trophy R looks pants compared to the 2 door version , IMO a hot hatch should be a 2 seater with 2 barely seats in the back, the original hot hatches all had two doors.

But adding 2 doors doesn't make it any less of a 'hot hatch' but they clearly saw a market for people that want something sporty that does both, i imagine thats why subarus and evo's are so popular. As for looks, i couldn't disagree more, everywhere i go the meg turns heads, my trophy that is...but thats what we're all here for, if we all agreed it would be boring wouldn't it. This video was done because i feel Renaultsport could have had a much more grand finale vehicle, instead of a trophy with some stickers.

Ye am one of them suffering poor bastards who spent £63 k on a megane trophy R ! With a 5 year warranty thats not worth the fukin paper its printed on !
