Also he got to provide closure to Crow, Ikora, and Zavala. You always want the "one more conversation" with lost friends and family, and we got that. I am satisfied with the Cayde ending. o7

ive played destiny since the D1 alpha, literally been here from the start. I took a lot of breaks in between because of fatigue, but i still always got drawn back into the game. Even though its full of frustrating design choices and decisions its still a game i hold very fondly, one that im glad i got to see finally have the amazing conclusion that it so rightly deserved. I just hope that bungie is capable of letting it end here though, nothing can really top this epic 10 year long saga that was told.

That was the best it could do, trade a life that shouldn't be for one that didn't need to end and in the end Cayde made the choice to do what it couldn't. Edit: 'Parently I have to add this, I know the Traveler didn't revive Cayde. Consider for a moment: Cayde was not with us when Ghost died and he was also not with us when we were sucked into a featureless void. Traveler brought us to that void (No shit) and so must have also brought him there. It didn't force him to do jack all either obviously.

It felt like avengers endgame with allies and foes working together to stop a great evil.... the aftermath made me happy to see and it makes me miss cayde more now as he died sacrificing himself i guess he was right about being here was the best bet he ever lost. But regardless destiny 2 storyline is somewhat ended but with little work remained and i bet with the whole power vacuum of the travler there would be more to see but 13:25 its pretty beautiful.

Really strikes a number of emotional chords. And they've never really accomplished that in past expansion, even though they came close a couple times. And only becomes so much more emotional when you've been following the story for 10 years, and we've literally stopped what caused the Great collapse in the first place.

@@Sunny_0214 What emotions are you babbling about? Aside from Targe death and our ghost fakeout death, there havent been any moments that could affect players in any way. And its also not what Im talking about. We went inside of the Traveller to save him and outside of his mysterious eagles and Sundace quotes, we havent got shiet. I dont know about you guys, but in a finale of LIGHT and DARK saga, it would be nice to have some mention of the light. Instead, we get what we always got - a mysterious jesus orb whose actions cant be explained because destiny writers havent thought this through. On the other side, we have darkness, which also isnt developed at all. All these 10 years of fighting the darkness forces, only for Witness to complain about the Traveller and not doing anything about it. Our Guardian is also underused. We got prismatic as a sign of awakening some deep power, yet by the end of the story, its still not explained why our guardian can wield both light and dark. The conflict between Witness and the Traveller (or Gardener and forces of Winnover) is so basic, that it can be described with simple "good vs evil" bs. Since Witness achieved nothing and Traveller also did nothing, we got nothing of value in terms of idealogies of both sides.

I still have a few unanswered questions about the Traveler tbh. Very curious what the Livestream reveal/future ahead is going to show. I'm really hoping it's The Nine.

Problem is, the Traveler doesn't DO that. Yes, it could, but that would defy it's purpose. It's meant to bless a civilization, but not be a god. It wants those it blesses to discover their own purpose, to 'make their own fate'. So reviving our ghost, without any strings attach, would be kinda disrespectful. And, frankly, our ghost HAD to be revived. After all, how would be revive ourselves in the game?

I bet Xivu Arath, now mortal and angrier than ever before, will try to become the Taken Queen now that the Witness is gone and nobody is controlling them. I still look forward a Savathun vs Xivu confrontation in the near future, their Dinasty still has some unfinished business to deal with, specially considering that Savathun's ties to the traveler make her not only a traitor but also a heretic to Xivu Arath. And of course, we still have The Nine and several other plotlines either untouched or incomplete. We are masters of both Light and Darkness now, so we can go anywhere. Considering disciples like Rhulk and Nezarec operated almost independently for the Witness, even having discrepant views about the Final Shape, who knows what else has the Witness left in the most distant corners of the universe? I doubt these two and the Hive were the only enforcers working for It, Bungie can bring bring anything to the table and It will be as plausible as anything else.
