It's debatable whether to judge a regular person in the past, but a Prophet should have moral revelation, so did God forget to tell Muhammad that this was going to be immoral in the future? It was out of lust that he married a child because he also stole his adopted son's wife 😮😳😳

You know my brother in Islaam , I've been bothered by this Question regarding the age of Aayesha R.A for quite a while , and I have tried and searched for answers for quite a while , This Question creep up again in my mind last night while I was at work , and wallah I felt like drifting away from my belief , shaitan kept whispering to me all sorts of bad things , and I felt absolutely terrified for loosing my faith , because as far as I am concerned my life without my faith in ALLAH and his messenger s.a.w and in Islaam would be absolutely meaning less and worthless . And I was terrified by this thought last night that if I don't find a satisfying explanation on this matter , then I'll bee doomed for eternity in the here after. And then I whispered to ALLAH in my heart and I asked for guidance and clarification as shaitan was bothering me non-stop . And alhamdulillah ALLAH s.w.t brought your video in front of me and I am 100% satisfied and clear on this issue now . I have heard shaikh Aasim al-hakim , Dr Zakir Naik , Mufti Menk of zimbabwe and a couple of american scholars , but subhan-ALLAH it is your explanation that I found most logical and satisfactory . May ALLAH reward you abundantly for this clarification and explanation . جزاكم الله خيرًا كثیر

What people say shouldnt matter, God is the One Who decides what is good and what is bad, not them. If they think something that God sent is bad, then that is their dumb opinions and opinions dont change facts. Whatever God permitted is good - a fact. What these disbelievers say - an opinion. And opinion wont change facts And also, you said that you were looking for an answer to satisfy you. What if the truth wasnt satisfying to you? Will you reject it? The truth is the truth, whether it is satisfying or not.

There are many Hadith, in English, about Aisha's age they generally state as this Hadith does : "It was narrated from 'Aishah that the Messenger of Allah married her when she was six years old, and consummated the marriage with her when she was nine." Grade: Sahih (Darussalam) Reference : Sunan an-Nasa'i 3255 It is graded as Sahih by some, but that is wrong. These Hadith were transmitted by Hishaam ibn Urwa or sometimes it's just stated Hishaam, one and the same person. When Hishaam grew old his memory suffered very badly and it was then that he transmitted these Hadith. In the science of Hadith there are five conditions that must be met in order for a hadith to be graded as Sahih. One of the conditions is that the narrator have a high precision of memory. Hishaam had a very bad memory and therefore doesn't meet the criteria in fact as his memory was very bad the Hadith is Apocryphal, Daef or false. There is a Hadith transmitted by Umaartubnu Ghazeyah but he is listed as being Daef and therefore the Hadith is Daef. The Hadith such as these are Apocryphal, Daef or false and many people do not know. Asma, Aisha's sister, was 10 years older than Aisha. Asma died in 73 AH at 100. Which makes Aisha around 17 at the time of Hijra to Medina. She was conducted to her husband, Peace be upon him in a later Shawwal making her 19 years and 10 months old. In The Holy Qur'an Allah says "...Marry who seem good to you from THE WOMEN...' 4:3 Marry THE WOMEN NOT CHILDREN. Extra knowledge: The fourth chapter, The Women, starts with "O' Mankind…" 4:1 and therefore the address is to Mankind. In Hadith 10 from 40 Hadith an-Nawawi It is noted that : "Verily Allah commanded The Believers* because He commanded with it The Messengers and Allah said "O' The Messengers Eat from The Good and Act Righteously" and He said "O' Those who Believe* Eat from The Good which We provided you"..." We note that Allah addresses The Messengers separately from The Believers* and this is true throughout the Qur'an. Therefore, Allah begins Chapter 4 with : "O' Mankind…" 4:1 and the address is to Mankind and excludes The Messenger, Muhammad, Peace be upon him. As the chapter continues it still addresses Mankind and says : "...Marry who seem good to you from THE WOMEN...' 4:3 This address is part of the address to Mankind and not to The Messenger Muhammad, Peace be upon him, who is excluded from this address. However, Further along in The Chapter, The Women, Allah says : "Allah wishes to make clear for you and guide you to The Practices of those from before you…" 4:26 In this verse which is still addressing Mankind Allah says He makes clear for you, Mankind, and guides you, Mankind, to The Practices of those from before you, and The practices of those before you is to, as Allah says : "...Marry who seem good to you from THE WOMEN...' 4:3 and those before you are The Prophets. All The Prophets from before their practice was to marry Women NOT children exonerating them from any and all blame. and Allah says : "...Never will you find in The Practice of Allah A Changing…" 35:43 and their other verse from elsewhere in The Quran. And no changing in The Practice of Allah in respect to The messenger of Allah, Muhammad, Peace be upon him. The Prophet Muhammad's practice was already in line with The Practice of The Prophets from before that he and they only married women and therefore it was not necessary to address him,Peace be upon him, when Allah began The Chapter, The Women, with " O' Mankind…". Allah makes clear and guides Mankind to The Practice of those before us namely The Prophets and The Practice of Muhammad, Peace be upon him, in which there was no change in that practice from before to : "...Marry who seem good to you from THE WOMEN...' 4:3 Marry THE WOMEN NOT THE CHILDREN. There is more evidence but it would make this too long.

Let me share some of my research with you too on this very sensitive topic.... There was NO … historian in the 1st 80-90 years of Islam who sat down to write history. This history was written down through oral traditions after about 100 years. These oral traditions were common among the people of the time. These are the same oral traditions that our Hadith scholars use to compile their history books. These are the same narrations that our historians use in their books. After researching and reviewing said…( Javad Ahmad Ghamidi) these narrations some people had try to formulate our history. For that reason, it became popular knowledge that Aisha ( RA) was 6 years of age at the time of marriage and 9 years at the time of consummation. Javad has written an article in his book called “ MAGAMAT” and has presented questions in it. These questions are based on the same sources that historians have compiled based on oral traditions. Let me mention those sources to you…. Then you tell me what is been said in those sources (does it really sound plausible) This entire event and how it is been described is sourced from the first history book “ Tabqat Ibn -e- Sa’ad” it is said about Aisha(RA) one can read the translation of it and, Javad, explain that he has presented his points from this source in his article. So what is the event? The prophet married his 1st wife Khadija, it is said she was a widow who had children and was about 38-40 years old. They stay married for a long time (25 years) until the prophet was 50 years old and passed away. The prophet continued preaching but also had to provide and take care of the children. With all these responsibilities he used to be worried, and grieving the loss of his wife. It is been said that a female Muslim named “ Khaula” met the prophet on the way. She mentioned O! Prophet of Allah, I have been noticing for quite some time that you look very sad. She asked why you don’t get married again for someone to look after your household/children. The prophet replied…have you got someone in mind? (Remember his 50 now and have small children in the house) She mentioned that the prophet needs a woman to take care of his house and a companion too. Therefore she mentioned that she think he needed a wife to take care of the family and made 2 proposals, a maiden, and a widow. The maiden was Aisha (RA) daughter of his friend Abu Bakr, and from the Believers there is Sauda who is 50 years of age and a widow…The question is …This Muslim lady who we all think is counseling the prophet intelligently, do you really think she was proposing a 6-year-old girl? Why do men need to marry, for a marital relationship? Then it cannot be fulfilled (for her age?) is it for taking care of kids? Some of the kids in his household were older than Aisha(Ra) is she ( Kaula) suggesting adding one more child to the family? The prophet asked her to propose on his behalf. She went to Abu Bakr's house and put the marriage proposal in front of his wife. She replied, that although Aisha is betrothed for quite some time since we are Muslims now, they don’t seem to be interested anymore in that engagement. If she was really 6 years of age, then it means she was engaged when she was 3 - 4 years old. Can COMMON SENSE…Justify this? When she ( Kaula) found this out she went to Sauda and made the marriage proposal, and was accepted. In the meantime, Abu Bakr went to the family where Aisha( RA) was engaged, and they broke the engagement. Therefore the prophet committed himself to both marriage proposals. He married Sauda. Although both marriage proposals were accepted, he did not marry the younger lady Aisha, just because he did not want to be unfair to Sauda. He gave preference to Sauda, also because she could appropriately look after the kids. Aisha although married to the prophet did not cohabitate with him for 5 years, until Abu Bakr, her father enquired about it to the prophet. Only then she started living with the prophet. He asked for permission from Sauda if it was ok for Aisha to come live with them, or if she(Sauda) would prefer a separate arrangement. Sauda said she would like to remain in his marriage, then only Aisha (RA) came to live with the prophet So this is the whole event. Is this about the 6-year-old girl, then what did actually happen? In the Arabic language, numbers are READ as broken numbers just like in English. For e.g. 22 (twenty-two, i.e. Twenty and Two) Therefore the age of 16 in Arabic is SIX and TEN. For some reason the 10 dropped out of the ORAL TRADITION and it remain six only. This is the entire story and not FACTUAL that she was (6 or 9). NEITHER THE INTELLECT ACCEPTS IT…. NOR THE EVIDENCE SUPPORTS IT. A famous historian Ibn-e- Khuldoon, stated a principle. If an event is being presented, then 1st based on intellect whether or not it is ACCEPTABLE. Javad says he has presented all the facts… and that there is more other supporting evidence that she was between 16 and 19 when she was married and then went to live with the prophet for a few years after that. You can look up Javad’s book “ MAGMAT” in his article by the name “Age of Syeda Aisha” a great scholar from Deoband who has written a detailed book on this topic. Good day

If an 18-year-old man comes to you and says he’s getting married, you’d question his decision-making skills. You’d think he’s getting married too early. Similarly, if an 18-year-old woman tells you that she’s getting married, you’d ask her to do a “reality check” and may be even discourage her by telling her she’s too young, and she should go to college or build a career. Even though 18 is the legal age most countries, no one really believes that an 18-year-old is ready for marriage! Should it be same for girls and boys? Or, should girls have a different minimum age than boys? Should the fact that girls mature earlier than boys be takin into account? Does "one size fits all" really work for determining a minimum age? In pre-modern cultures, girls would look forward to getting married and start a family. They did not see it as we see it today. They saw marriage as a benefit, not a burden like we do. That was the norm for them. And this was true in all religions, cultures, and regions of the world. The minimum age for marriage has been increasing worldwide. In all pre-modern traditional cultures, it wasn’t unusual for girls to consummate marriages between the ages of 10 and 12 and that was considered normal back then, but not today. In most modern societies, girls are highly discouraged from getting married, even at 18. Early marriage is considered bad. They’re told that education and careers are far more important and beneficial for a young woman than marriage and having children. Today, we’ve been indoctrinated into believing that it's always better for a woman to have a career and work than to have children and raise them. Women are taught to delay marriage for career. How has this impacted women, men, children and the society at large? The result is that most Western nations are in decline-population is imploding. Marriage is ruined. People are having fewer and fewer children than the previous generations. Corporations and business do not like early marriage because it’s bad for the economy. Women entering the workforce helps increase the supply of labor which in turns lowers wages. Business and corporations benefit when there are more women in the workforce. Women who work consume more and spend more. So, it’s good for business to have working women. We’re even told that it’s possible and perfectly normal for a woman to have both a career and raise children at the same time. While this may work for some, it doesn’t work for all women. Many women get burnt out trying to juggle jobs and raising kids. It's such a huge responsibility. We expect women to work like they have no kids. We expect women to have kids like they don't have a job. All this has put unrealistic demands on women. Stress, depression, and disintegration of the family. That statistics are there. It is unfair to women. Women have been tricked into believing that having a career and family are the norm. Modernity and liberalism have changed everything. Today we find early marriage shocking, but the pre-modern people lived in a very different time period. They didn’t go to schools or colleges. Liberalism has brainwashed us into rejecting early marriage. Girls are denied the freedom to marry early. Yet, girls are told they can sleep with anyone they want, have sex with anyone, “discover”, and even change their gender any time without parental consent! Liberalism is stupid, dangerous, and destructive. It’s ruining lives, families, communities, and societies. Thanks to liberalism, most Western nations are in decline-population is imploding. In pre-modern societies, girls did not care much about careers because there weren’t any to begin with. There was no vocational or job training for any jobs because girls didn’t get jobs. She had goats and cows to milk. Why won’t she get married and enjoy sex and have children? Early marriage was not only the norm, but also the most sensible and financially beneficial thing to do. That was then. Still, we have many poor villages in India and Africa where this works. As long as there’s no harm, let them do it. In the history of the world, there’s never been a universally agreed upon minimum age for marriage. Every religion or country has its own minimums. So, what’s the perfect age for marriage? What should be the minimum age? Depends on who you ask! There’s no perfect age as there’s no magic formula. People mature differently depending in their age and cultural norms. Some say minimum age of marriage should be 18 for both boys and girls. Some say 16, and some even say 12 or 14. Regardless of the number, the modern laws setting minimum age for marriage completely ignore the obvious biological fact that girls mature earlier than boys. Consequently, girls should have the legal option to be able to marry earlier than boys.

Islam allows consensual marriage as long as the couple has attained puberty. Parents consent or Wali is also required. Hundreds and thousands of people accepted Islam during the life of the messenger of Allah, SAAS, and nobody ever raised fingers. In fact, hundreds and thousands of people accepted him as truthful, trustworthy, best of character when Allah claimed in the Quran he was the best in character, and the companions became devout muslims. This issue about marriage to Ayesha, RA, has never appeared as an issue in the entire recorded history, only recently. This is a recent phenomenon. Abu Bakr R.A and his wife married their daughter to the messenger of Allah. Abu Bakr RA sacrificed all his belongings to the messenger of Allah for the sake of Allah. Because he knew the Prophets high morals from his early life. The companions competed to have the honor of having a family relationship through marriages with the prophets or Prophets family, SAAS. Definitely marrying younger has been a norm and still allowed in some states and many countries. Even, If we check our earlier generations, we would be amazed to find, our previous generations married at a much younger age too, not like today. Today it seems odd, because, girls like boys have become career or College education minded or want to graduate first, and mary much later than our previous generations did.

Muhammad never made the order to marry 9 year old so it isn't Sunnah. The Prophet pbuh actions is divided into two, Sunnah like praying some rakat before fardh, and his own time-bound actions like riding a camel or wearing a turban. We should not ditch our cars and buy a camel. Plus when it came to marriage, there were many rules for the Prophet pbuh and not anyone else, such as him allowed to have over 4 wives

@@sy6553 The actions of the Prophet are most definitely Sunnah (Sunnah al-Filiyyah) - it is surprising that a Muslim is unaware of this. Most Muslims don't ditch their cars for camels, but nor do most Muslims ditch their modern health supplements for camel waste despite the latter being prescribed by Muhammad in sahih hadith. This doesn't mean that the sayings of the Prophet are not also Sunnah - it just demonstrates that at some level there is an implicit acknowledgement that some of religion is just kooky. As a general rule, if Muhammad did something and did not explicitly ban it for others (e.g. more than 4 wives) then it is Sunnah. In this particular case there is nothing to suggest that marrying a child in particular is preferred over an adult but - as stated in my original comment - it becomes halal for all time.

Jay Mathews that's if girls were not ready for marriage, which is your assumption here. I have a friend in her 50s whose mom and grandma both married around age 10 or 9 and had a baby the next year. Her grandma is younger than my mother of course bc my mom married in her 30s and had me when she was in her mid 30s. However it's assumed that there are many narrations where girls married at 9 or 10. We assume that Safiya was a young jewess when she married. And when she married the Prophet Muhammad later she was a teenager at least. I think a medical opinion would say that a pedophile is a sick person. But that a person who married many women and enjoyed sexual relations with women isn't a pedophile. But what was done is what Allah permitted at the time. Atheists who insist we are just animals and no better should be the last ppl to criticize ppl who married young. In some countries there are even boys who married young to preserve the houses and wealth their father owned bc the govt would have taken their property away (some unlawful claim) That happened only the last few decades not even 100 yrs ago. And ppl ask if Allah knew it's evil why did He permit it. Obviously Allah knew the marriage of Aisha to the Prophet would be very beneficial to her as well as other women who took knowledge from her. Actually all the Muslims believe she is like their mother. Finally, it's not impossible that ppl have changed. For example, ppl today usually have problems with their wisdom teeth but that likely wasn't the case b4. We have evolved somehow. Whose to say ppl like animals weren't capable of sexual relations at a young age 1000 yrs ago or even 150 years ago. What will humans be like in 200 years? What about this #babyboo and kids who are claiming that they or their friends are gay etc in grade school? Why are ppl shocked considering the teaching and "grooming" they get from family or society today. I'm sure even in the past such grooming was a part of growing up. Anyway, hope you can think about this without letting ur culture and personal views blind you to reality. ✌
@Diamondraw4Real6 жыл бұрын
Jay Mathews Actually it says she played with her friends. As for taking dolls with her, that's natural bc a married girl would want to give her dolls to her own children. Ppl didn't just throw things away in those days like kids often do now. I used to play dolls at age 14, lol. It was something we did to pass the time before we had cable TV 😊

The difference is that his actions are applicable to ALL time for ALL man. If it was fine then but not fine now then let's do this for ALL his actions. Salah - fine then not fine now. Fasting - fine then not fine now Etc etc.

I don't think this reasoning works. Here's why: A messenger isn't receiving divine inspiration for every single little thing he does. Maybe a messenger likes a certain vegetable. It doesn't mean his followers all have to eat it just because he likes it. It's just a matter of taste. But if he is enjoining law unto the people, he is thereby making them follow it. So if a messenger enjoins prayer and fasting, his people now must pray and fast. Did any messenger that you know of ever say "the marriage of a 6 year old girl must always be allowed"? Or is that merely something that may have occurred in a different culture, and if it is frowned upon worldwide it is something that can be avoided? I hope I'm making sense. I am not a Muslim so if there's something I am not understanding in the Muslim worldview I would not dislike being educated.

Muhammad never made the order to marry 9 year old so it isn't Sunnah. The Prophet pbuh actions is divided into two Sunnah like praying some rakat before fardh, and his own time-bound actions like riding a camel or wearing a turban We should not ditch our cars and buy a camel.

@Zakituio Zaki I have never ever heard anybody promote Isaac as someone who should be followed in his footsteps. In schools in "the West" we were all told to take the Old Testament with a large grain of salt. The Old testament was presented as a more mythology and legends with unrealistic ages and numbers of wives that were not realistic nor credible. We were told to largely ignore the old testament, since it was not particularly reliable and focus on the more peaceful and better documented new testament. I have also come across many 'Christians' who refute the age of Rebecca as 3 or 5 as you claim. I think it is a useless exercise because Christians accept that the laws are not left up to religions, so churhches are valued for group-support, moral support and guidance, sense of belonging, etc. but not to dictate laws of the land.

3:52 is not accurate, there was Roman canon law of the Roman empire before and after Christianity was legalized, which made the minimum age of marriage of girls was 12 and boys was 14. The actual practice of marrying that young was that mainly for nobility, to merge kingdoms and form alliances. Christians and atheists easily condemn any people who engage in this act then, and now. We also can condemn Muslims and Muhammad, because the same canon law existed at their time. The reason Muhammad is under greater scrutiny isn't because any atheists or theists hate Muhammad, it's because the Muslim belief asserts that he is a moral exemplar and that his behavior should be followed. It calls into question the validity of the Islamic faith.

I always thought that the idea that Aisha R.A. was 18 made no sense in a historical context. 18 being the accepted general norm, even in the west is only about 100 years old. Ask your grandmother or, if you are fortunate enough, your great grandmother how old she was when she got married. By the 1800's 18 was the age for European nobility, not all European women, just the nobility. Go further back in history, choose any country and see how young people were when they got married. This applied to both men and women. We should stop judging people of the past through our modern lens, especially when that lens is so new compared to the history that came before it.

*DID AISYAH MARRY THE RASULULLAH AGED 6 YEARS AND LIVE TOGETHER AT AGED 9 YEARS* This is the question of non-Muslims attacking Islam and the Prophet Muhammad SAW. Let's look at the following explanation which is correct and logical* because it is impossible for the Prophet to give an example that is not correct and for the knowledge of all of us in the Muslim community.. _Hopefully it is useful_* *Historical Aspect*. 'Aisyah's marriage age needs to be seen from a historical perspective. According to Ath-Thabari, the four sons of Abu Bakar As-Siddiq were born to his wife during the Jahiliyah period, meaning that they - including Aisyah - were born before 610 AD. If Aisyah was married off when she was 6 years old, then she was born in 613 even though all of Abu Bakar's sons were born before 610 AD. Referring to Ath-Thabari, 'Aisyah was not born in 613 but before 610. If 'Aisyah was married before 610 AD, so she was married at the age of 10 years and lived as a wife with the Prophet at the age of 13 years or more. According to Abdurrahman bin Abi Zinad, Asma was sister to 'Aisyah, she was 10 years older. According to Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani, Asma was 100 years old and died in 73 or 74 Hijriyah. This means that at the time of the Hijrah, Asma was around 27 or 28 years old (100-73). Because 'Aisyah is 10 years older than Asma, Means 'Aisyah's age when she first shared in house with the Prophet was between 17 and 18 years.____ ___ MAY ALLAH BLESS YOU ALL___

Hello I am not an Islamophobe or an arrogant hater, I just have an honest question. One of the Muslim responses concerning the age of Aisha and the Prophet's morals is that a girl marrying at such a young age to a 52 year old man was OK by the standars of 7th century Arabia and we shouldn't judge a man from that time by today's standards. Fair point but shouldn' the Prophet be *above* the moral standards of the time he lived? He is supposed to be such a person that every person-no matter the race, the age, the gender, *the age when it is lived in* -thinks him as a *morally perfect person* as stated in the verses 33:21 and 68:4. (I can safely say that the Quran tells about him as a person which every person no matter the age when it is lived in can think him as a morally perfect person , because the Quran is supposed to be sent to *all* of humanity (humanity from the time when the Quran was sent to the time of the end of humanity.).

The only question is: Could Aisha have known her birth year? The answer to that question is a resounding no. The speaker in this video fails to address this point. At that time, there were no birth certificates. Additionally, there is a hadith in which it is stated that all the children of Abu Bakr, including Aisha, were born before Islam, which makes Aisha at least 15 at the time of marriage!!!

Chapter: In defense of Imam Al-Bukhaari (رحمه الله), and Abu Bakr As-Saddeeq (رضي الله عنه) Laws of England by Sir William Blackstone, says that the law of England allowed, at the age of 7, a girl can be betrothed and married with the consent of her parents. This was a book that was written about the jurisprudence of English people in the 19th century. The cultural aspects of marriages between cultures have similar aspects in maintaining modesty and chastity before the 19th century. Aisha (رضي الله عنها) was betrothed (engaged) to the Messenger of Allaah (اللهم صل على محمد وأزواجه) at the age of 6. The Messenger consummated the marriage WITHOUT having sexual intercourse at the age of 9, by bring her to his living quarters. She didn't see his (صلى الله عليه وسلم) private parts UNTIL a day after Ghazwa At-Tabuk, which means she was about 14 years of age or older. I believe this is a hadith in the Sahih Sitta which I read more than twenty years ago (possibly this hadith is in the Sunan of Abi Daud or Jami' At-Tirmidhee).

There are several reasons why Bukhari wrote Aisha's age when she married so young: 1. The age number is only approximate because there was no calendar at that time. Aisha married at a young age, then Aisha estimated her age when she married and conveyed it to Hisham bin Urwan. Urwan was Aisha's nephew. Hisham was Urwan's son. So Hisham could be said to be Aisha's grandson. 2. When Bukhari wrote that age number, it was not something embarrassing at that time. No one criticized the prophet at that time for Aisha's age when she married with the prophet. Or maybe that age number was a source of pride when it was recorded that she married at a very young age at that time. Something that in this time is something inappropriate. 3. Hisham conveyed the hadith of Aisha's marriage age when he was in Iraq at an old age. So it could be that he had forgotten what Aisha said about her age when she married the prophet, then Hisham estimated based on his memory. 4. Hisham never met Bukhari. Since Hisham had died before Bukhari was even born. It is possible that Bukhari heard the story about Aisha's age of marriage from the Iraqi people who heard it from Hisham. In this case, accuracy can be problematic. Moreover, Iraq is a base for Shia followers who do not like Aisha. There are several things to consider regarding Aisha's age of marriage: - In the hadith of Bukhari, it is reported that Aisha was present at the battle of Uhud (3 AH) and her job was to provide drinking water to wounded soldiers. It is difficult to imagine a small child under age to be invited to attend a war full of violence and blood. - After Khadijah (the prophet's first wife) died, a company Khaula offered the prophet to marry again. He put forward 2 person as candidates, namely the first was Saudah a widow, the second was Aisha a virgin and the daughter of the prophet's friend Abu Bakr. It is difficult to imagine that Khaula offered a small child to be the prophet's wife. It would be more reasonable if Khaula offered a girl who was old enough to marry, by the standards of that time. The prophet accepted Saudah to be his wife. Then the prophet accepted Aisha to be his wife when in Medina. Because the information about Aisha's very young marriage age is recorded in the book of Bukhari's hadith, this makes it difficult for Muslims to protect the honor of the prophet. Even the hadith might be problematic.

There is no way for sure to actually know how old she was. I know Arab today who were born about 60 to 70 years ago but don’t know their actual birthday. When they got a passport to come here to America they just guested their birthdate. And I can understand if there is Hadith stating she was 9 but it doesn’t mean it’s true, her being ,9,12, 14 , 18 doesn’t change anything in Islam. Ashia her self saying she was 9 doesn’t mean she was nine, back in the days no one really kept count of birth days or calendars or even books period. There is no final verdict about her age, she could have been 9 or up to 18 and it shouldn’t matter either way

Learnzz that's true. They didn't even have birth certificates in some cases. And if you read the bio in some books, dates for birth or death missing or even in some cases off by decades! That's the Hadiths collectors never mind the Sahabis. But it doesn't change Islam anyway. In Islam there's no forced marriage. Women can get divorce by a judge. And all the Hadiths show that Aisha RA herself was very happily married. The only reason ppl bring this up is to hate on Islam.

Yes people try to find something that is different from today’s culture. Like I said I know many older Arabs who don’t know exactly how old they are, so when they were asked age when coming to this country they just guessed and some regret because now they cannot get their retirement and have to work more . Like if you are 60 you can retire but if the papers say you are 50 then you have to work till 70. Yes they didn’t have certified papers like 60 years ago. So how must it have been like 1400 years when there was no paper period. Subhanallah this a new challenge for modern Muslims to deal with that was never rasied in history, it’s like every time period the believers must be tested, may Allah make us stronger against all these modern trials and tribulations. I don’t think many people understand how modern we are, compared to just like 60 years ago, like simple indoor plumbing or AC besides the new inventions like the internet happened before our eyes or the invention of this KZbin.

I agree with your points 100% there is no excuse for using todays standards to judge aything from the past. Since we expect to progress as a society, I would hope that we have learned from the mistakes of the past. The fear is that many take these kind of examples out of context to justify doing similar things today. There are uncounted examples of people quoting passages from the Bible out of context to justify hate and violence today and there is no doubt that there are Muslims doing the same with their litrature. The one point that Imam Tawhidi does not get wrong is that there is a need for reform. Christianity had its reformation in the 1500's and yet it still needs to modernize to remain credible. Historical examples have no bearing on todays world. The only enduring truth is that we continue to strive to be better humans, be kinder and more accepting of each other and become closer to God. In my opinion there is no room for intolerance in Godlyness. All hate moves us further away from Him. Peace be with you my brother.

Also, how can you prove your standards are objectively correct, and if the standards are not met, then it is objectively wrong? What if the standard changed where you have to be 40 to get married? Will you be saying the same thing to people getting married at 20? Would you call yourself a you know what? If you were to take something from this marriage for all time, it would be marry early and when you are mature. Maturity varies; not one value will be suitable for everyone. Islam promotes this. 👉Read the truth, defend the Messenger👈 🔸️ This's [Part 2 of 3] 👉 Was Aisha the mother of the believers 6 years old when The Messenger of Allah Almighty sermoned her (Engagement)! and was she 9 years old when got Married to the Prophet? (peace and blessings be upon him) 🔵 And Sadly we still find many muslims try to proof this Lie against the Messenger and the Mother of believers, snd give the Islamophobes and haters a reason to Attack the Messenger with falsehood. Let Stop this wrongdoing, and these are the truth. 🔴 4) Aisha's Islam before Omar Ibn al-Khattab: (This's a clear strong evidence) According to Ibn Hisham's summary of the Prophet's biography of Ibn Ishaq, Aisha (Abu bakr Al Sidiq Family) embrace Islam before Umar Ibn al-Khattab embraced it, which means that she was at least 14 years old at the time of her wedding to the Prophet, peace be upon him, thus dropping the age of 9 years completely. 🔴 5) And This's an ultimate proof: Knowing the Age of Aisha (MOB) by calculations, based on het older Sister Asma (may Allah be pleased with her): According to Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi al-Zinad: Asmaa was ten years older than Aisha (biography of the flags of the nobles, al-Dhahabi: Maj. 2, p. 289, Foundation for the Message, Beirut, 1992). Ibn Katheer also agrees with Ibn Abi al-Zinad’s narration and says that she is - Asma: Ten years older than her sister Aisha (The Beginning and the End, Ibn Katheer Maj. 8, p. 371, Dar Al-Fikr Al-Arabi - Giza 1933). Ibn Katheer agrees with what all historians affirm without disagreement that Asma "witnessed the killing of her son during that year (73 AH), as previously mentioned, and five days later she died. And like other accounts, she did not die after 5 days, but rather after 10 or 20 days, or a few days later, or even a hundred days after the accident, so that the most likely story remains that she died a hundred days later, when she is 100 years old. (Beginning and End Ibn Katheer, Mug 8, p. 372, Dar Al-Fikr Al-Arabi, Giza 1933). And bin Hajar Al-Asqalani narrates that “Asma bint Abi Bakr Al-Siddiq [That Al-Nitaqain], the wife of Al-Zubayr bin Al-Awam, one of the great companions, lived a hundred years and died in the year of seventy-three (Al-Tahdheeb, Ibn Hajar Al-Asqalani, p. 654, chapter on Women, Harf) a thousand). According to the opinion of most historians, Asma, Aisha's older sister were ten years older than the last, and if Asma 'reached the 100 years of Hijra, then her age at the time of the migration would necessarily be 27 years old, and therefore Aisha’s age at that time would be 17 years old, and she also began living Along with the Prophet and she was 19 or 20 years old. Based on the narrations of Ibn Hajar, Ibn Katheer and Abd al-Rahman bin Abi Al-Zinad, the age of Aisha at the time of her marriage to the Prophet was between 19 and 20 years at least. 🔴 6) The date of Aisha's death determines the date of her marriage: It is also mentioned in Al Maarif by Ibn Qutaybah that Aisha, the mother of the believers, died in 58 AH at the age of 77. Thus, the age of Aisha, the mother of the believers, immediately before the emigration, was 19 years (77-58), and since she married to the noble Messenger in the second year of the Hijra..so she was 21 years old at that time. Even if we take the minimum approach, the presence of other accounts in other historical sources that determine Aisha’s age at 66 years of age, assuming that her age was only 5 years + 12 years (from the fourth year before the mission until the second year of migration) = 17 years at least. 🔴 7) Sahih al-Bukhari prooves Aisha's age: This's another narration confirms for us Aisha's participation in the Battle of Uhud. “Anas narates that on Uhud: I saw Aisha bint Abi Bakr and Umm Salim, rolled their hands ready (Sleeves) - I witness the work of their arms - transport water containers on their bodies, empty them into the mouths of the people, then return and fill it, then come and empty it into the mouths of the people (Bukhari, Al-Fath. No. (2880). This is a clear evidence of their grown age. Her age and her ability to serve the army during the Battle of Uhud. (As it's well known fact the Messenger never allow young children to participate in battles). Thus, it is confirmed once again that Aisha witnessed the battles of Uhud and Badr. 🔴 8) Al-Bukhari narrates to us in another hadith: On the authority of Yahya bin Saeed, said that Nafeh said, on the authority of Ibn Omar, May Allah be pleased with them, that the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, he offered himself to the messenger on the day of Uhud when he was fourteen years old, and Messenger didn't allow him, and offered himself at the Ahzab, and he was allowed at the age of 15. (Kitab Al-Maghazi, Chapter of the Battle of Al-Khandaq, which is the Ahzab or Trench). This is a very strong evidence that the Prophet, peace be upon him, was not permitting to let someone under the age of fifteen in the Battles. 🌟This is evidence that the age of 9 years has no validity at all. 🔴 9) Participation in the battle of Badr: In Sahih Muslim, a narration confirms Aisha's participation in the battle of Badr and is attributed to Aisha in the course of her discussion of her trip to Badr and about an important accident that occurred while traveling: “... even if we were in the tree ....” Which is clear evidence that she was among the delegation Traveling towards Badr, and the Prophet does not take children with him. (The Book of fighting and travel). ▪︎Continue to part 3

I agree it may seem unfair to single out the prophet Mohammed about this issue when many other important historical figures also had very young brides however they key difference here is this, We are talking about Islam which claims to be the most logical scientific and true religion. Allah told humanity to use the prophet Mohammed as an example and follow him so now it ALL of his actions become highly relevant. The real meat of the issue is not ‘Did prophet Mohammed marry a child ?’ But rather ‘Was it moral for the prophet Mohammed to marry a child?’ I agree that biological age is not always consistent with mental and emotional age. I know (anecdotally) that there are many adults in their 20s that behave like 5 year olds. Does this mean the reverse could be true? That a girl of 6 or 9 could have the mental maturity of an adult ? This is something I am still researching with an open mind

Plus when it came to marriage, there were many rules for the Prophet pbuh and not anyone else, such as him allowed to have more than 4 wives. Islam doesn't give an age but the woman must be past the age of puberty for consummation. And Aisha was past puberty, as in this hadith in Makkah years before her consummation in Medina: Narrated `Aisha: I had seen my parents following Islam since I attained the age of puberty. Not a day passed but the Prophet visited us [in makkah] Sahih Bukhari 476

There are narrations in Muslim and Bukhari that show that the marriage wasn't consummated for several years and Abu Bakr pressured Muhammad to consummate it, but he lacked revelation to justify it. Their are sound narrations list 13 as when he noticed she was a woman and asked her. There is even a manuscript listed as by Aishah, instead of later generations, that includes a narration that says it was arranged at 6, she moved in at 9, and it was consummated at 13. The narration centered on 9 stem from a person who it is also narrated that before he moved at got older that he said 19. Those who look at the details in the Big Ten collections, know that there is external evidence to those narrations. People forget that, in most societies child marriage does not usually mean sex with preadolescents. Quran shows a marriageable age in multiple ways, but this is in finalizing the marriage. There are different ways of being engaged and moving in on proposed terms to be considered in the future would not be a contradiction. We can not look at what was written two to five centuries later as the same as what the first two generations as if they are eye witness accounts. Even the narrations about the Companions and the Imams are better in a historical sense than even mainstream claims of history during my life. The Bible requires no consent for marriage and includes justification for forced marriage. Many secularists are advocating legalization of non-violent child molestation-actually fornicating and adulterating with prepubescent individuals where they are not scarred. In the USA, marriage is legal with people Islam says are not allowed to be married and sex is legal with even more. A sociopath will be governed in his morality by the laws and customs or popularity of the society he is in. A psychopath will decide ethics upon their own preferences or desires. We should be neither.

Regardless of the age of Sayyida `A'iysha (RA) during the consummation of the marriage, the Shari`ah does allow marriage at the age of sexual maturity, which according to our modern society would be counted as an age of a minor. Nevertheless, the biology speaks for itself and even in the animal kingdom do species begin a quest to mate when they have arrived to sexual maturity. And yes you cannot compare the Shari`ah to secular laws. The Sharu`ah sets the proper boundaries whereas the boundaries of secularism are only centured around consent. And that is one reason why they have to settle on an "age of consent" in order to set boundaries. They have trapped themselves in a strange situation where even pre-buscent paedophilia could be legalized, so long so long as the child "consents". The Shari`ah on the other hand is perfectly balanced with what is natural. Just look at the wisdom of why women can't have multiple wives. If they do you wouldn't know who the father is. Men, can create entire clans out of some few wives and there wouldn't arise any confusion on who is the parent of who. Most mammals do this to except without boundaries. With the animals you can have one alpha male win an entire herd of females. We humans were gifted with reason so we have an obligation to serve God instead of our own desires, therefore we can't have more than one wife. Before the Prophethood of Muhammad (SAAWS) there were no limits of how many women a man could marry. That is another thing which secularists don't keep in mind. They think that Islam came to let men oppress women. But that is false. Islam came to remove oppression and in still proper justice. Islam chooses justice over equality and wisdom over feelings. And that I found beautiful even before coming into Islam.

Now it is also reported that the he (saw) forbade youngsters under the age of 15 to stay there. So Aisha must have been more than 15. I don't believe about those reports saying 9 y o. No need for a long justification about that, it is enough that hadith to show that she was not so young.

We know from the Sirah, Hadith, and even the Quran itself, all of the many insults & mockeries that Quraysh, the Christians, and the Jews all made against the Prophet (saw), such as a magician (sāhir), a poet (shā’ir), a soothsayer (kāhin), a liar (kathāb), and madman (majnūn), yet *NEVER* did they call him a pedophile or a child molestor (a’uthubillah). This alone should prove that such marriages were perfectly normal at that time & society, which makes it completely absurd to judge it from our 21st century Western moral standard 1,400 years later. On top of that, we have nearly *THOUSANDS* of Ahadith from Um al Mu’mineen (Aisha ra), and we know already that she was treated amazingly by the Prophet (swt) and loved him more than anyone! So why do we need to prove anything that she hasn’t already done herself?? Subhan’Allah! Why don’t you guys just reject the statement since these are not even hadiths! If you do the math it clearly goes with 16-19 slot. By the way Kings used to marry in their family just to keep their bloodline intact and we know how those practices ended up, now are you guys compering these people’s ignorant and incetual practices with our Prophet PBUH and trying to normalize it!?! Wow!! And how could you believe that our prophet pbuh would marry a girl who was not even reached the age of praying salah and doesn’t have her own choice to marry. I would like to see every person marrying off their 9 year old girl to a middle aged guy since they see it as a sunnah based on a weak hadith. Such strong blind belief will surely makes people ignorant.

That is how come the biggest opponents of rasul Allah(s), who would look for anything to attack his character and cause doubt in his credibility, never once attacked him from this angle? This shuts down any claims of deviancy for me, because it clearly indicates that this was a cultural norm for the time. Not just that time but even going as late as pre industrial revolution, none of the orientalists even thought to criticize rasul Allah(s) for this. This is the response for the non believer, for the believer it is quite clear to see the truth in rasul Allah's(s) statement that Aisha was chosen for him by Allah as she would go on to be one of the foremost transmitters of hadith and sources of knowledge for this ummah.

Assalamualaikum Brother, that Hadith directly contradict to the Quran. I do not understand why should we even consider it a Hadith. There are many so called authentic Hadiths which are irrelevant to Islam. Age of Aisha (Peace be upon her) is totally irrelevant to Islam. Some Hadiths put the Prophet (Peace be upon him) in wrong position and directly contradict with the Quran. I think all Hadiths should be rechecked. Hadiths are not words of Allah and not directly written by the Prophet (Peace be upon him) himself. Scholars may made mistakes and now we are the sufferer of answering stupid questions from both believers and disbelievers. I am not concern about the authenticity of Hadiths but their relevancies with the Quran. In nowhere in the Quran Allah command the Prophet or the Muslims to marry a 6/7 years old kid. That Hadith is disturbing and should be thrown out.

Dear Jackson Jones, I guess two things about you 1. you are a blind follower of David Wood, and 2. you have no intellect. For your kind information Allah tells in the Quran - "O Prophet, when you [Muslims] divorce women, divorce them for [the commencement of] their waiting period and keep count of the waiting period, and fear Allah, your Lord. Do not turn them out of their [husbands'] houses, nor should they [themselves] leave [during that period] unless they are committing a clear immorality. And those are the limits [set by] Allah . And whoever transgresses the limits of Allah has certainly wronged himself. You know not; perhaps Allah will bring about after that a [different] matter." (Chapter 65: 1) "And when they have [nearly] fulfilled their term, either retain them according to acceptable terms or part with them according to acceptable terms. And bring to witness two just men from among you and establish the testimony for [the acceptance of] Allah . That is instructed to whoever should believe in Allah and the Last day. And whoever fears Allah - He will make for him a way out, And will provide for him from where he does not expect. And whoever relies upon Allah - then He is sufficient for him. Indeed, Allah will accomplish His purpose. Allah has already set for everything a [decreed] extent." (Chapter 65: 2-3) "And those who no longer expect menstruation among your women - if you doubt, then their period is three months, and [also for] those who have not menstruated. And for those who are pregnant, their term is until they give birth. And whoever fears Allah - He will make for him of his matter ease." (Chapter 65: 4) The three months Idda period is for checking pregnancy of a Women. Only a stupid like David Wood and peoples like you trying to relate this verse with 5/6/7 years old kids. And how can you relate the verse "if you doubt" to a 5/6/7 years old girl while you clearly know that she is far away from her menstruation. The verse "those who have not menstruated" clearly indicates the early stage of pregnancy when it is not confirmed yet. Are you familiar with the term "False Pregnancy"? And some time Miscarriage also happen within the first three months. When will I look pregnant? - BabyCentre UK www.babycentre.co.uk/x25006275/when-will-i-look-pregnant "If you're a first-time mum, you could begin developing a baby bump any time between 12 and 16 weeks. But if this isn't your first baby, you may start showing sooner. This is because the muscles in your uterus (womb) and belly may already have been stretched from your last pregnancy." So Three months Idda period is a perfect way to check and confirm pregnancy that time. Please next time use your brain before comment. Peace.

This Hadith can't be considered as Sunnah from Islamic view point, because it promote injustice towards kids. Many Munafikhs use this Hadith to justify child marriage. Plus when it came to marriage, there were many rules for the Prophet pbuh and not anyone else, such as him allowed to have more than 4 wives. Islam doesn't give an age but the woman must be past the age of puberty for consummation. Also, prophet Muhammad is considered the prophet for all mankind till the end of this world, right ? So that means things we do now we are supposed to follow him. That’s means the life he lead we should mirror that in every aspect. So should we also marry a 9 yo if we are above 50? Fine, if you look at the history, even till recently girls as young as 12 or 13 would be married, but not to a 50 yo, but to someone who is just a few years older to the girl. Yes there were some who were much older, but then you can’t compare those people with a prophet ? That too a prophet of his stature. I would accept if everyone back then did the same thing, but I can’t accept him doing this. I mean come on, he’s the prophet of the prophets. Not acceptable for him to marry a 9yo.

Two acclaimed historical books namely Tahdhib-al-Tahdhib and Al-Bidaya wa’l-Nihaya report that Hadhrat Asma died at the age of hundred in 73 AH[8]. Calculating from this, it becomes evident that Hadhrat Asma was about 27 or 28 years of age at the time of the Prophet’s migration to Medina. This puts Hazrat Asma at the age of 28 or 29 at the time of Hazrat Aisha’s marital consummation, which occurred in 2 AH. All of these facts indicate that Hazrat Aishara should have been 18 or 19 years of age at the time when her marriage was consummated.

_“It’s extremely unfair for one to judge Muhammad according to 21st century morals and standards and it is extremely due to a bias methodology in which he is criticised, especially once we are aware that he should not be singled out for marrying someone who was so young, he was not the only person to marry someone that young and this was a cultural norm”_ No, it is not unfair at all, this man claimed that he was the final prophet of God, that he was the perfect example of conduct for all of mankind for *all of time* , he could have and should have put a stop to men having sex with little girls (in Islam at least) but instead he indulged himself and as a direct result there are little girls being abused throughout the Islamic world by men who believe that it is sanctioned by their God. In the USA you can get “married” to a girl at a young age but the “age of consent” (the age at which you can legally have sexual intercourse) is 16 yrs of age, sex below this age is “statutory rape” with a defence in law for those that are close in age. Nowhere in the USA can a man in his 50’s legally have sex with a 9 year old girl. The simple fact is that the “cultural norms” of any society throughout history is irrelevant when you are talking about a man who claimed to be the perfect moral example for all time. Aisha was also 9 *lunar* years old, so not quite 9 solar years old !! _"Who are you ? At the end of the day you are a slave to "Allah""_ No! You're the slave and it shows.

+Grim reaper No, I got the point! I never said he married her because she was nine, only that he had married her. He married her when she was younger than that but the marriage was consummated (they first had sex) the when she was 9. You say it is a "fact" that she had reached puberty but your sources, sources which this man has defended, suggest otherwise, she was still playing on swings and with dolls (they would have been forbidden if she had reached puberty), this is understood by some Muslims www.sunnah.com/bukhari/78/157 Would you allow a man in his 50's to have sexual intercourse with your 9 year old daughter/sister if she showed signs of the *onset of puberty* (not when the process was complete which could take a couple of years)? Don't bother with the usual "we have to obey the rules of the country we live in" and "if she consented and the man was acceptable to us" nonsense, a simple yes or no will suffice! I don't know how or why the age of 16 was chosen, it maybe that for the vast majority of girls would have completed the process of puberty and matured mentally by that age, there will always be exceptions but you cannot legislate for a very small minority.

Can I suggest you look again ! Especially at the comment:- “(The playing with the dolls and similar images is forbidden, but it was allowed for `Aisha at that time, as she was a little girl, *not yet reached the age of puberty* .) (Fath-ul-Bari page 143, Vol.13)” www.sunnah.com/bukhari/78/157 I note that it does not say she was allowed to play with these dolls because they were “faceless”. These are Islamic sources not mine. _”1) You are trying to give an impression that Hazrat Ayesha had not completed her Puberty and was Immature and that too when almost all the evidence indicate that she was not. “_ Please show me your source that states unequivocally that Aisha had *completed the process of puberty* as opposed to reached the onset of puberty! _”2) You are giving an impression as if it is obligatory for us to marry our young girls with elder men, well you might disagree but at lest this Strawman proposition indicates that”_ Absolute nonsense! Nowhere have I suggested that is obligatory for you to marry off your young girls I have merely pointed out that it is acceptable due to the example of Muhammad and you have the neck to accuse me of making a “strawman” argument. _”“When a girl reaches nine year of age, She is a woman." Sunan al-Tirmidhi, Kitab al-Nikah “_ Yes, that’s the claim! So, if you “mother” says it is ok for a nine year old “woman” to have sex and your “prophet” set the example. Would you allow a man in his 50’s to have sexual intercourse with your daughter or sister at the age of nine if she showed signs of the onset of puberty? A simple yes or no is all that is required but I doubt you will give one. _”Now you have a right to disagree and believe what you want but you cannot claim your belief to be true unless you have logical reasons to support your claims because in a debate emotions don't count.”_ Nor can you!! I have given my source that says she had not reached puberty you have made claims and offered no supporting evidence. _”Thus you have no right to blame my prophet __-(SAW)-__ .”_ I have every right! Young girls around the world are being abused by old men because they believe it was sanctioned by their God, it was the example of Muhammad that gave them this belief and it is he alone who is to blame.

+Hani Salhab Typically you are hiding from the question. You are not living in a time where it is a social norm, you are living in the 21st century and you are using the "we have to live by the laws of the land" excuse! In doing so you accept that the "man made laws" of the land in which you live take precedence over the example of your "prophet"! Even though he claimed to be the perfect example for mankind for all of time (that would include now)! Let me press you on this. If there was a resurgent Islamic caliphate imposing the Sharia and they took control of the country in which you live would you then allow a man in his 50's to have sexual intercourse with you 9 year old child ?

What kind of proof is that of an hadith? These are reports after many years after the Prophet (saw) and the companions passed away. Even if the narration say "I was 9 y o" this is a report from other people you were'nt present and did'nt hear her say that. In other words you put your trust in something that is not 100% without any doubt correct. Infact there are other hadith with other age reported, other hadith that states contradiction to that you quoted (I stated in my other comment), and so on. We don't know with 100% certainty of how old she was. People who attack the Holy Prophet (saw) will always find something to criticize him. It is better in my humble opinion to say that all this is not confirmed because hadith are not 100% reliable like the Qur'an, even if it is possible that are correct, but not with certainty. To base a line of defence on something that is not stable could do more damage than help. When a year a non muslim say "your prophet is a ***** (I don't want to write here the word) because he married a child" my answer is simply "were you present to see that? Do you know the exact age of her?"

@@nikobelic3306 I know exactly what concubine is. But you lack understanding of Islam that's why you have issues with MUSLIMS having concubine. We have rules that are set in place so no concubine can be exploited. Give me one example where a concubine rejected or tried to set her free or tried to kill any companion while she was with them ? This shows you how well they were taken care of. Anyhow, you don't know what wars do to the society and how they are left after words, especially women. Human trafficking and prostitution gets prevalent which ends in destruction of the whole society. So Islam legislated to have concubines in order to keep things in check and whoever gets a concubine will make sure that they are well taken care of. No one can share them or do immoral things with them, you don't force them to have sex with you. They live as if they are your wife.
