If the hearts are old men trying to reach the hearts of young girls then it's not appropriate... Why didn't Mohammed simply choose women closer to his own age? It seems odd that a middle aged man (which would have been the case at that time) would want marry such a young girl and then go on to have sex with her... Even if we consider he may have been 25 (with some evidence to suggest he was 50). The reason people bring this topic up in the modern era is because men are using this part of the Koran to do the same in 2022.

@@drriks0017 1) Prophets are not driven by the same base desires as normal human beings, in fact being motivated by the direct commands of God alone, 2) Ayesha was accepted in marriage as a purely strategic alliance with the house of Abu Bakr, not because the Prophet somehow thought Ayesha herself was a noble or wise individual, and 3) All that being said, there is still nothing inherently wrong with a significant age-gap between any two consenting adults, so this dynamic alone would not be enough to condemn the Prophet whatsoever In fact, the Prophet’s first wife (and the only one he married for love: Lady Khadija) was even older than him, and she was the one who proposed to him, after being impressed by his honesty in business matters and his reputation overall So if his desire was supposedly grooming impressionable girls, you’d have to do a much better job of drawing that conclusion from the given facts of his life

Isn't it "some and ten years"? The original biographer's text was "بضع عشرة سنة" (simply translated as "some and ten years"), but in Arabic بضع is between 3-9 years (or some say 3-7 years) so it would be ((3-9 years) + 10 years). The evidence for بضع having this meaning is the Quran verse in Ar-Rum "في بضع سنين" and the Muslims were expecting Rome to win between this time frame of 3-9 years. The age gap between Asmaa' and 'Aisha is said to be 14-15 years. Thoughts?

It has the exact definition as puberty, i.e. a child's body matures into an adult body and is capable of reproduction. Sahih al-Bukhari's hadith says "that the Prophet married her when she was six years old and he consummated his marriage when she was nine years old." Other sources differ on the age of marriage, but agree that the marriage was not consummated at the time of the marriage contract. the problem is old people marry children today as well... in Afghanistan and Africa, because they believe it is normal ......

I think the issue is less her age. Times change and so does the acceptability of marrying a minor. Assuming its true (6years and 9), it is what some Muslims take from that to justify their behaviour and laws today (marrying minors by todays standards). A woman must approve the marriage and the woman Aisha became justifies a stronger role in society than we see today in many Islamic countries.

You cant quote ibn Ishaq , especially when Imam Bukhari hardly even transmitted his narrations, and Malik ibn Anas even went as far as to consider him a liar who reports on the authority of the Jeiws. What he doesn't mention is that Mohammed was 50+ for most of his marriages - so jovially laughing and saying 'she was at least 15-16', is a little concerning, as it suggests this vast age gap is appropriate - I'm sure there were other women of a similar age to Mohammed who he could have married - rather than children who would have been of an age where at the time they were considered to be grandchildren.

In the modern era there are men who have done similar acts - Woody Allan (a famous American actor) married his own daughter aged 26 when he was 61 - however 'almost all' of his wives were with people not related to him - still sickening though and indefensible. Your overwhelming belief blinds you to the reality that the acts he committed are and were considered to be pedophilic in nature. Once you have to concede this is the case, the house of cards falls. Hence, you need to keep convincing yourself that he did nothing wrong. We, therefore, see similar acts by men from Arab states waiting with glee for the first drop of period blood from young girls - so the men can legitimise the impure thoughts they are having about the girls before a period has even started. It is absolutely disgusting.

The man in the video gave evidence of how she couldn't possibly be 6 and 9, yet you can't get past 1 verse stating she was 6 and 9 without doing further evidence whether that is accurate.
