Season 3 of THE FINALS just dropped and what a letdown. They have replaced Ranked Cash Out with Ranked Terminal Attack. Terminal Attack may be the worst iteration of a game mode in a FPS game ever. It's actually insane that they put something so bad in this game.

I quit CS to play the Finals because I wanted something more fast paced, I love the Finals as it is something in between of CS and Quake type of games. This makes me think on a CS mod to make it survival game, it just didn't work for the masses.

Very valid criticism, coming from a CS background I don't mind TA as much, but yes it is a weird shift for the game. It's nice to have such a drastic change of pace but it shouldn't have been such a hard sell. A part of me thinks that people just haven't figured out TA and that's why it plays like ass, another part worries that when people DO figure out TA it's gonna be even more ass with insane cheese starts. Cashout as you said just needs more ways to earn cash and a disincentive for 3rd party cheese, later down the line we can talk about spawn advantages or whatever. Devs have been receptive to feedback and there's been A LOT of feedback around TA, so I'm still hopeful. Good video my man.

I quit CS because of how incredibly punishing and frustrating it was. The finals didn't have that same effect on me when I play Cashout. Now, i've effectively been forcibly brought back to playing the same frustrating ass game. Not fun at all. Ruined.

💯 I thought they should have just made a 5v5 Cashout. Two teams, one vault, two Cashout stations with Final Round rules; but here’s the kicker, make it round based. After each successful Cashout the round ends and everything resets-map refresh and both teams start over from spawn point with a new vault. Best of five.

I played every Beta, played all of season 1. And then I was told when I tried to update and play, that I had cheating software on my PC and couldnt play. I got this on my laptop and on my desktop. I have never cheated in an online game once, I have no helping software like Blitz for League of Legends. I loved the finals, its a shame they're killing their own game.

I think the nuts & bolts of the mode are actually fine. This game is best when attacking and defending. It's the choices like no healing. Like what? It's so easy to take chip damage in this game. I would say 1/4 the time one of my team mates throws a gas canister in the starting area and im down health. I don't mind that once you are dead you are dead but not being able to heal kind of kills the way people play, makes certain weapons way too strong & leaves you useless before you are dead. I'm guessing Nexon pushed them to this. It sucks because it could literally kill the game. I will say I played XDefiant, It's complete garbage. It feels like a cheap COD. A really cheap COD. Like COD on the xbox 36t0. You can play cold war and have a better experience.

That is a potential solution but I don’t think something that dramatic is needed. Also that would severely hurt queue times and match quality for ranked games…which is already difficult due to the amount of people needed for tournaments.

@@ZybakTV every single competitive shooter that has roles/agents/operators is limited to 1 of each character because when it's impossible to balance between roles, it has to be limited. If we can't find 6 people per ranked game which is already less than TAs 10 then there is a huge problem. It's an arena shooter like quake which is why TA is LLLLL and everyone is 1v1n. Imagine VALORANT with 5x Raze nades or 5x Tracer like we had in OW already made these mistakes. I don't understand why we keep repeating the same mistakes with every shooter, do they not research? Even individual performance was a bad idea as we have seen in other role based shooters who had to remove it because certain roles have more scenarios vs others. Elo should be based on win/loss compared with the other teams elo only, I'm sick of having 5 alive hoping the last enemy plants so I can gain a little more objective score and thus elo.

@@ZybakTV TA doesn't have a tournament, neither would the 3v3 need it. If for some reason there has to be a final, even though there isn't in ranked right now... 3 rounds of 3v3 is 24 people per queue like last season.

Gawd I am tired of everyone crying about the "NEW TA" ranked mode. Everyone was praises this studio on how great their game is, and they do one thing and everyone is all up in ARMS like its the end of the world. Also as a community we are trying to drive people in to this game not away. I'm not sure why all these players that PLAY the Finals as their main game love to POST Negative stuff to drive players away. The Thumbnail "The Finals" and "Its bad" is just dumb. Someone that has not played the Finals will go past that and be like, I probably wont bother trying that game. Skip... and using a Photo of HITLER... yeah a bit extreme... Geezuz!

I completely agree with you on how people are approaching the situation. Its no help to a game we like, but bro... They dropped the ball. Everything about the finals was built for a cash out mode, this is completely different from what the game is supposed to be. This was a fun event mode, because it was easy to understand. Cash out tournament to my knowledge was a new concept & its my belief players were still learning it & how to win. Just running & gunning trying to get a squad wipe wasn't going to do it. You actually had to play objective & control it. Now they're just trying to be Cs:Go mixed with over watch. I loved the originality of the game, now they trying to be a cop out. Since meta all the updates have felt like they're trying to favor lights so they can squad wipe and making ranked into terminal was the last straw as the Creator said people aren't even playing objective. They're all just trying to kill each other before the key is even put in. Its bad...

No bro. The problem with the finals IS THE FINALS. There is a real reason this game doesn’t get the viewership and consistent player count you think it deserves. Its flagship game modes are not sustainable because the better you get the more unplayable they get! And in the case of TA it’s unplayable all the time. On top of the game loop becoming completely abysmal at the slightly above average and onward level of play Embark cannot or does not produce content fast enough to compete with other mainstream titles. Those are completely objective statements without touching on anything subjective that i personally think is wrong with the game

It's the best balanced gamemode they have, and it naturally makes sense that it should be the ranked mode. Cashout was completly unbalanced and favored the h/h/m meta. If you want fast paced play with little to no tactics go play quick cash. If you want a skill based ranked progression play terminal attack. Embark said cashout will be back after they can figure out how to have it not be completely unbalanced. Stop crying and play quick cash or bank it if you only play the finals for the pacing.

Terminal Attack is definitely more fair as there's not third partying. However that doesn't mean it's fun. I'd have much rather had Power Shift or maybe a Hardpoint/King of the Hill style of game mode instead.

@@ZybakTV the problem with that is once again balance. We all know from cashout and powershift the meta is heavies and mediums. Terminal attack is simply put , the only somewhat balanced game mode for all three classes. Which to me is why it's the only logical choice for a ranked game mode. The other modes are fine for quickplay and fun.

I think Power Shift is better balanced than you're giving it credit for. Glitch Grenade is really good in Power Shift. Also some of the more obscure utility like grapple hook, smoke grenades, etc are actually much more applicable.

@@ZybakTV There's no way you think lights with glitch grenade are beating 3 turret 3 aps, and two mesh shield heavies with flame thrower ect. It's not even close. Show me a team of lights that can hold the point in power shift against basically any other comp. They can't, and that's the point. The only thing I agree with you about seems to be the duration of the terminals, best of 13 is a bit egregious, knock it down to 9 and I'd be happy.

Not an entire TEAM of lights but absolutely they can be valuable. Especially with the APS having limited charges. 1 guy running a grenade launcher and 1 guy running glitch grenades will counter literally an entire team of heavies spamming shields and APS.

That's not going to fix the core issues with the game mode being slow and boring as hell. If anything high skill matches will be EVEN SLOWER since aggression will be even more punished by good players who will do more chip damage.

Cash out ranked did not need to be removed for the season while they retune it. Like tou said kills earn more then 200 bucks. I would say 500 a kill. And 50 for an assist so when the deathmatch modifier comes up it gives 1000 a kill and 100 an assist. Then the held cashout needs to be held in segments of 4 so if held 25% of its cycle you gain the 25% of the vault. This would make third parties less rewarding and more useless.

Started playing on season 2 because got bored of siege, in 2 weeks got 80 hours on steam peaked diamond completed battle pass did all the contracts and was really hyped for season 3 even knowing we would get terminal but damn...its was impossible to know it was going to be this bad, atleast put terminal and cashout ranked at the same time, it would be better for ruby because if only 500 people get per server, no one will see it in matchs and if people seen it would say "damn this skin is cool" and would try to get it

Oh man I was onboard with this until the suggestion to fix cashout. Absolutely horrible solution. Kills to outrun cashout truly defeats the purpose. You already get value from kills but you have to wipe the team to deplete the enemy cash. 30% is a huge penalty and makes you seeek out a full team instead of just TDMing your way to highest cash. The vaults on cashout would just turn into honeypots. Defeating the purpose of the game mode.

Kills wouldn’t outrun cash outs. Just supplement them and incentivize teams to be more active rather than AFK and last second third party. I’d love to see the team wipe penalty removed but have kills worth more.

Every time i look at ranked this season i get super hype. That only lasts till im in the game. Wait for the long starting time. If the map is monico you can predict the spawns and chuck nades directly on the attacking team. And if you get sys horizon its a 5v5 LH1 battle. The pacing of this mode is terrible.

this is the only season that killed my hype by just seeing the trailer. every other season I was hyped for but as soon as I saw TA ranked like a lot of people, it was a punch in the gut for me who has played since the beta and enjoyed the game for what it's unique for. I like a competitive experience but a mode with really no risk factor for losing, a participation trophy, and a few multibucks doesn't cut it. I don't have time to fight for the top 500. I'm not buying the improving cashout bs. When Oscar came with that PR statement to save face while at the same time saying he believes people will find TA to be the preferred ranked experience didn't help. It's just not fun. If they want to keep it ranked, they should've stuck with the first to four. Casual feels better than games that drag on with first to seven. It's also more difficult in this game to catch those CS like moments in a 1v5 when defensive gadgets are all over the place and the longer ttk. A light isn't going to 1v5 a team holding hands in a room unless the team is literally mentally disabled and fires at the walls and ceilings rather than the player. there is also no reason they can't improve cashout while it is a ranked mode. just make balance updates every few weeks or so and think outside the box what you can improve. The more money for kills solution isn't bad. The first cashout almost feels useless 95% of the time and helps create a faux comeback story when the last place team that performed horrible the whole game gets a lucky steal at the end and finishes second. The only problem I can think of when making kills worth more (not enormous amounts but enough to help flip the tide just a little) is you know when you have that 3 stack in a game that is just better than the entire lobby and runs up the scoreboard like crazy, those types may farm kills when they realize they have no legit competition. I hate that Oscar said he believes that people will probably find TA the better ranked experience in the PR statement. That's not a good sign because it's not true. I feel like they may have went off of numbers when people grinded the week for rewards which isn't legit playercount feedback. This game would be much better with TDM-like mixlist... TDM, CTF, Domination or KotH, and maybe throw powershift into that. The pacing people enjoy is much more suitable for that.

Hear me out... I don't like the new weapons. Not a fan of more melee weapons but I had a feeling it would be melee with it being Japan themed and they aren't exactly known for their firearms. They should add 3 new weapons during mid seasons imo. TA would be better if they kept it at first to four. Seven drags on way too long. I honestly don't mind it co-existing with cashout ranked but I have a pitch that could fix queue times for people that had trouble with that (I didn't). Make Quick Cash ranked. Quicker games leading to quicker queue times for EU or whoever struggles with queues. If they stick with cashout, I agree with cashout maybe making kills more worth it. One of the things I don't like is just that the first cashout is nothing more than a small buffer, not necessary to win games the majority of the time making for faux "comeback stories" or whatever they're going for with that. A team can be dead last, get the last cashout and get second because they got a lucky steal. Then you just have those extremely lopsided games where there is a 3 stack is just way better than everyone and running up the scoreboard. It's entertaining for them but quick cash would also fix that. I think usually the better team wins quick cash. they can up the teams to four and make it 30k or 40k edit: also this game would be dope af with a TDM mix list... TDM, CTF, Domination or KotH, and maybe throw powershift in that. That would've been a more fun ranked system also than TA and would require a low playercount leading to low queue times as well. F*ck, replace TA with that 😂

1. IMMEDIATELY kick Ranked TA to curb and bring back Cash Out 2. Make kills in Cash Out have weight to them. 500-1,000k cash per kill and 20-30% of teams money for wipe. (THIS WOULD SINGLE HANDEDLY FIX ALL CASH OUT PROBLEMS) Lets go over why Cash Out has some issues 1. 3rd Party 3rd Party 3rd Party. No one likes to kill two teams to then get cheesed last minute by a 3rd/4th party. Getting stacks of money for Player/Team kills would greatly reward single player skill and lead to more solo carrying. 2. Mode is not balanced. Plain and simple Heavy IS NOT A DAMAGE DEALER…. Let me repeat that HEAVY IS NOT A DAMAGE DEALER. Balance the game around most people playing MEDIUM. Light and Heavy are the X -factors which are more niche roles. Heavy is a massive tank that completely disrupts fights THAT DOES NOT DO ALOT OF DAMAGE. They should be able to single handily destroy and entire building themselves easily to disrupt. They should be able to heroic leap to a low hp teammate and give a temp shield or something to protect. They should have a hard to land dropkick ability that sends an enemy flying through walls far away as a disruption. Their charge and slam should do NO DAMAGE but instead last way longer and bounce enemies around like pin balls to cause massive DISRUPTION. Lights 1. Should be BURST Glass Cannons, a light get the drop on you without a support helping you, you SHOULD BE DEAD. ALL THERE WEAPONS SHOULD BE CLOSE RANGED like the M11. It is impossible to properly balance otherwise, if they do get ranged it needs to be like the bow or something equally hard to use. HIGH SKILL HIGH REWARD class. 2. Kit should be focused around DAMAGE DAMAGE DAMAGE, Medium This will be the bread and butter of the game and THE ONLY THING THAT MATTERS balance wise. 80ish percent of the player base will play this because the Heavy and Light roles are outliers and VERY NICHE play style. (Some wont like barely doing damage as a Heavy, others wont like the. Very unforgiving playstlye and skill ceiling for Light LASTLY ADD NON STOP WEAPONS AND GADGETS TO GAME. It is unacceptable to have such lack of variety as is now. Not every weapon needs to be a game changer. Can be a very similar weapon with close damage but the recoil feels different and sounds different. Different types of scopes ETC. you cant be a free to play game in 2024 and not shake the game up every month or so. YOU WILL FAIL TO THE ANCHORED FRANCHISES 💯
