this was pretty boy floyd not money. Two different fighters. Young Floyd was more aggressive counter in and out rarely used the shell. Older floyd used the shell more, patient, creating distance and less aggressive which can be looked at as running. One of the smartest fighters ever. It's like Jordan when he was young dunking on everybody. He rarely did any post moves or his fadeaway when he was young. Kobe too. When you're young you feel indestructable and act 1st without thinking. Basically not giving a fu**. Unfortunately when some dont adjust. Roy Jones was a beast in his prime but when the speed left, he started getting knocked out. You have to adjust as you get older.

This era and up until about 2005 (against Gatti) was my favorite of Floyd’s. Was much more aggressive and his style somewhat evolved a little in his later years (mostly because of hand injuries). Earlier years he had a more narrow stance and didn’t fight off his back foot as much, kinda reminded me of the Archie Moore and Ray Robinson stance with his hips tilted and lead hand out front. Was also a good combination puncher as well and went for the kill back in those days.

I've been watching boxing since the 70s, and you can just see it with really good fighters... they're really sound in their technique, even at a young age! I've watched so many fighters like him (highly skilled) since their Olympic days, and most of them go on to become champions in various weight classes! I find it weird how much athletes are hated for saying what they'll do in their respective sports, and then they do just that! It just shows you that there are tons of men who can't handle theirs emotions like women! Opinions 🤷🏽♂️!

Floyd was too good and he got better, smarter, and much wiser as he aged. He knew his defense was good and as he grew older he made it even better. You get older and the next thing you know is you’re fighting younger guys whose youth gives them a slight advantage so you must step up your game and Floyd did that. It is a good thing Floyd’s dad and uncles were fighters. I know that they told him he had to develop a better defense than the one he had which was outstanding imho. He did not lose a lot of his speed and delivery. I don’t have to worry about Floyd ending up with serious brain fog, Parkinson’s, or Pugilist Dementia. Wilfredo Benitez and Jose Napoles were excellent boxers but too many head shots killed them both. Back in the day there were the Quarry brothers, who both died from a boxing-related ailment like dementia. He never took any real hard shots to the head. Remember how good Pernell “Sweet Pete” Whitiker’s defense was? After over five hundred amateur fights and in all his pro fights he caught a solid shot to the head. Never. He was one the best boxers in the world because of his impeccable defense. Remember Terry Norris? That one knockout loss to Julian Jackson made him punch drunk or brain fogged. Norris's brain was damaged from that one right hand he caught him with did all that damage. When Floyd fought Mosely was the first time I seem him get caught with a good shot. I hope Manny’s brain was not badly damaged when Marquez timed Manny and caught him the perfect check right hand I have ever seen. His brain may be damaged from that punch. I hope not. Floyd did everything right thanks to his pops and his uncles. When I would hear him being booed they just don’t know. But if they had never been in the ring and hit with some hard punches they’d understand. Boxing isn’t about two guys standing in the middle of the ring beating the shit beat out of each other. The main objective is to hit and not get hit. Floyd did everything right. I hope he invested his money well then he will have completely done everything right
