Warframe has been out for YEARS, it was a pretty garbage game when it released. People need to give first descendant time and let grow like every live service game does. Hopefully people won’t ruin the game before it has a chance to find its feet.

Technically there’s more than 5 free characters. You *can* unlock ALL the descendants including the ultimate ones through gameplay. It’s just that your mileage WILL vary based on drop rates and your own personal RNG. Thats when the question of what you can realistically unlock comes into play. It could be months of grinding to unlock everything.

I already have Destiny2 as my “forever” as well as a huge backlog to get through and loads of games on the horizon. I just don’t have time for the first descendant unfortunately. I’ll see how it plays out and play at a much later date if it stands the test of time. Give them some time to iron things out too.

Play or Skip? Play for me since I love Warframe, Division, Destiny etc. this game fills the void Destiny left when I quit playing it when Bungie decided the Hardcore player is more important then the Casuals and Solo Players. The First Descendant is definitely a play for me. As far as the Ultimate Characters, Idk how I feel about it cause I feel they don’t give you enough bang for that $100 dollar buck like Warframe does. I feel like $80 bucks for a Prime Access in Warframe gives you more for that $80 bucks. When I looked at the Ultimate Bundle that is $100 bucks that they don’t give you enough honestly. Now if they gave you the regular Descendant along with the Ultimate, I can honestly say it would be worth the money. Now the question I have is “does the in game premium currency go as far as it does in Warframe? If it does and it doesn’t drain as fast as say Destiny’s Silver that runs like water and you’re out before you know it. Thing I like about Warframe is their premium currency goes a LONG way. It takes me months to run out of it cause it goes so far.

I'm having a good time with it and personally dont find myself compelled to spend any money. As a dad of 2, I can say there are far, far worse, egregious games out there pushing mtx, etc. With the worst culprit being Roblox....some of the content on there is disgusting with its pushing to pay for boosts etc. Buckle up people because the young generations are growing up and getting moulded to play games this way.

This is a good game that just launched for Christ's sake. Imagine being a company putting something out for free that is actually fun and then people bitch because the cash shop that doesn't affect anything but the person spending the money. I bought Freya first day before I knew you could unlock her, but I’m happy about it. I’m really enjoying the game a lot. I have no problem with purchasing the colors and the microtransactions. I kind of wish it was more clear when you completed a mission

The longer i play it the more some things annoy me, starting by player collision: you keep bumping into people and mobs (Division had the same issue) which is really aggravating specially trying to dash around as Bunny, bad Nvidia frame gen implementation, and consumable dyes. I guess they'll eventually iron things out.

Would rather have a game be greedy with optional things like cosmetics or characters who you can unlock via grinding than a game that locks content out via paid dlcs on a regular basis (looking at you destiny). Every game has to make money somehow. This game if you want to not pay a dime you don’t have to. Or just buy a few things or you can obviously whale. But content is free

Content seems free. Once you actually look at the game, it isn't. If you want more storage, you have to pay. If you want to be able to have more descendants, you have to pay. The ultimate descendants will take roughly 100 hours to actually grind out. The game is free to play on the surface, but that's it. Anyone who continues to play will hit an unavoidable pay wall or have to give up rewards from new content.

I've been playing Warframe since 2013, maybe that's why I have forearms like Popeye! 😅 I am impressed with TFD gameplay, I prefer the feeling of headshots mattering again so far. I haven't unlocked any of the ultimate guns yet, it's possible that AOE nonsense prevails as in warframe and aiming becomes irrelevant as well. I think the ideas of the grappling hook movement is fun, a lot more fun than I expected it to be, it also definitely feels like evasion during movement is well implemented.

Man i tried it on Series X and PS5 and the game just looks bad to me on both platforms. Frames are fine but he fidelity is horrible even when i use the balanced graphics option. I swear it looked better during the beta. Not sure what they changed.

The servers seem pretty crap. I tried it and they were down for maintenance and when I was finally able to get on it kicked me after 25 minutes and failing to connect even though my Internet was running fine

They can be earned in game but it is a serious grind, and there is a great rng factor there. You can look for on how to unlock every character on the research station.

You can earn them in game, but it takes around the time it would take to farm 2 or 3 prime frames in warframe. The prices are crazy, but you really don’t need the ultimate characters at all.

Played some, had issues with lack of ammo, its insuficcient and not clear how to replanish specially in the middle of the boss fight, and those 3 orbs pissed me off.

Yeah, the orbs can be annoying. There's a lot of gear check bosses. I had a lot of frustration with some. Then I grinded levels and upgraded gear and went back, and the fights felt a lot better

How much does it cost to get started with some breathing room? I recall in my old days of warframe I bought weapon slots and space for future frames as you never know when prices go up and you are stuck with the default set up.

You get 10 slots for descendants for free, and you get 80+ slots for weapons that increases with your mastery level. You don’t need to pay at all unless you’re specifically grinding out a ton of different characters / weapons super hardcore, it’s not like warframe you get plenty of space for free.

@@WhoStoleMyNachos that sounds cool. I took a quick look at the shop. It kinda sucks how the base characters cost 300 Caliber, and the lowest buy in of $5.00 nets you only 250C. Seems like the prices ramp up higher than his, stuff costs just a few dollars fair estimate.

The game is really fun, so far every songle mission for 3 hours has been a,b,c get keys load keys kil enemies get keys stash keys lol! But they nailed the gun play and combat so hope there is more going on later! Feels like a warframe lolp mission tbh which is fine! But it will def need more variety

You just described as exactly I mean exactly the same in or frame. There are several that are our made very easy for you to acquire early on. I believe if you don’t choose vote, you get a chance to get home very early on there are several that are made very easy. The rest require massive amounts of grinding to get the resources in the bed and pieces to make each piece and then the resources needed to make actual Warf it’s the same. This is the way every game like this works although there aren’t that many of this with this structure, but the one they stole everything from his warfare and it works exactly the same way as Warf the only difference is if you wanna expedite it, that’s gonna cost more money than it probably does and Warf frame if you wanna just skip it and buy the car bird probably gonna cost a lot more than it doesn’t warfare that’s the one difference Fair you have a control tank. What more do you need the ultimate versions of those things people that have all 50 whatever how many ever there are now war frames those kind of players the ones to completion that they want every Warr they want every bit of war they want everything that they can collect, all the try hard versus try hard PVP the ones that collect everything they’re gonna wanna get every single one of those they’re not gonna spend money buying them because that’s not what they play games like this for they play games to bury themselves in the grind for getting it done they feel accomplishment when they find all the bids and start that crafting and then they pull that crafted War frame or in this case you know crafted character descendants out of the research station they feel accomplishment that a lot of people play that kind of gameplay it for us because it lets them feel a sense of accomplishment that maybe their real life doesn’t have they don’t maybe their job so they don’t feel like they’re going anywhere but in the game, they can be a bad ass with all the characters, this game is going to provide an outlet for a player base that doesn’t have a lot of outlets right now not in the shooting the shooter genre. A lot of people are just worn out like Warf and destiny as well. I mean I won’t play destiny because I won’t give Bunji anymore money and I’m just sick of all the ads and monetization and what not a lot of people are in the same boat. In fact, the fair number of people went back to playing destiny. One I did to the story five Times, I will probably even though I was not initially convinced this was gonna be that good. I will probably play through this and gather up several one of each of the heroes and and get you know their all equipped and and proper modules in them and and I’ll probably play this for a while maybe on and off but it’ll stay on my list of games that’s available to playuntil I get so bored with it or something else comes out that scratches that itch better and I will just avoid like a plague spending any money on this game

For what it’s worth , the game is good ESPECIALLY with all these games coming out lately , it’s fun and it’s pretty alive rn so now is the best time to play it, only Drawback is the FPS spikes sometimes but it stabilizes , people say it’s PTW which it might be however it’s not required , I’d say I like it cause I needed a game to sink hours into cause gaming is boring rn so this is refreshing

The first ascendant has a typical cash shop for a hero shooter. I mean there’s nothing in there, but anybody should be surprised about when they know it’s a free to play game unless you’re completely gaming you should not be surprised by or shock by anything in there except again, maybe the actual prices to buy the currency And the amount of currency to buy the items that I really have a book that hard cause I can’t who cares what the cash shop leash you can get almost everything by playing the game, including inventory flat. The only thing I spent money on warehouse flat, the warehouse you know the universal storage that you act that with all your card, I spent the money to expand at the max, that’s the only thing I spent money on was free to spend money buying shit that I can earn in the game inventory in the game. You can max out your inventory flat on a character by picking up the beef and taking them to a vendor turning them in for three pieces and you get a new character inventory slot so every so when you just hit that vendor, you know 23452 inventory flat how many pieces you collected, and made it easier by making all those spots. I forget when they did it but first once you looted the spot, it wouldn’t respond so you had to go look at another spot, but I got to where you could have a pass that you could just repeat the bath every so often, I forget what was on, but you could repeat the same spot again you’re playing free game and that it has a cash shop or that sells you character advancement items or expensive medics then you’re playing the wrong kind of game go buy your game single player standalone where you don’t have any server interactionand have fun with it

4500+hrs in destiny, 800+ in warframe, i find this to be a nice refreshing change, graphics are eye candy, UE5 is going to change the game world , but woe be to those on other systems.. No clue how long i will play it for.. but its still in the beta season.. so no actual content drops yet other then the base game.

Literally hardly any Lutter shooters in the last five years 10 years even that I failed track. The only one that comes to mind is anthem and anthem didn’t fail so much as VA gave up on it for whom ever gave up on anthem is actually a fun to play game now. It still has the initial design clause of you know go run around the city getting a mission then go on the mission through a loading screen maybe go through another loading screen then when you come back, go to the platform with the loading screen, and then you gotta go back inside to get another mission with another loading screen And then when the garage was at you gotta go through loading screen to get to the garage and then you realize you gotta go in the city and get a mission so you gotta go through another loading and you’re not. I’m saying that one element of that game that was just terrible still exist by the gameplay is good. The mechanics are good movement shooting transversal everything is good. The strong are good All although if I can solo them on grandmaster off, there may be something wrong with the difficult but maybe it’s just the way the scaling works. I don’t know, but in any case that game is good to play now, but the company gave up and decided didn’t want to sync any money because probably given the way the developer went on that they were working on it for years supposedly but really they just piled a bunch of development into the last year, they really just inherent structural problems and they don’t wanna spend the money but if somebody did wanna spend the money fix the other problems which is the free only having four people in it being as big as it was that was stupid. There were several things that were just bad game design Anthem didn’t say because of that and they really really failed in the first month because of a terrible watch for problems that have all been solved since that but unlike other comeback that did not get a comeback right or still playing it, but it did not get a comeback

I think it's a decent game from what I've played so far. Its basically a free to play, 3rd person Destiny. Theres not nearly as much Warframe inspiration as i was led to believe, ot only has a similar mod system, everything else is Destiny. There's definitely fun to be had here, its up to the individual on this one if its worth it for you or not. I'd say it's 100% worth trying

The thing is there isn't many pve games these days. Hellsidvers is cool but you can only do it so much before it gets old. The only good arpg is Poe but it's only good for a month or 2 and gets old hehe. The big thing is if there are active players or not and not some stupid overworld stuff slowing down things

I really tried to like the game. It pulled me in with the opening hour, but by hour 4 I was already asking myself, “Why am still playing this game?”. I’ve never played a story so boring and I played Black Desert. I hope it gets better, because it could be good if they fix the gameplay loop and add caliber to trading(whenever it comes out). The loot needs to be adjusted as well. There’s so much that doesn’t matter and they know this. There’s a BP mission to scrap 50 guns. Guns also feel the same. The melee attack needs fixing. I missed almost half the time simply because the animation, it’s even easier to miss if you’re running.

Play item in the game I mean Byron stuff that they left out by mistake every item in the game you can look up all the locations that might drop and go farm that location right and like Warf frame and a new player starting out do you have a choice of three characters I damaged dealer, crowd, control, character, and a tank Similar to or choose one. The other ones have to be just like Warf frame just like Warf frame very early on you end up on a quest to get the pieces to make a Warf I forget which one rhino maybe I don’t remember which one you are on quest, but you can add any time. In fact, it could be fair much harder to grind out a character and war frame that it is in this game and war frame I think you literally have to go look on the Internet and see what it is you have to do to get the restand the very best the crab parts for warfare

The game is ok, the difficulty is a big issue though. Most missions are too easy with other players but some feel basically impossible solo with certain characters, like bosses that go invulnerable until you shoot down these shield balls that respawn faster than you can destroy them unless you just eat shot to the face. And the ability thing is very true. I bought Valby because I didn't find Ajax fun and while she is fun and a couple of her abilities are good early, she's very squishy which is an issue trying to solo anything, but her skills are also way too strong with a group. One of her main things is wetting a bunch of enemies then hitting them with a launcher that traps them in bubbles, but between the mana cost and how fast everything dies in a group, it honestly feels like she really only has this water dash and a teleport that are ever worth using. Also she buffs electric and ice damage which is great for bosses but had the unintended effect of making groups overpower the content even more since so many players have Viessa and Bunny. It feels like the option to go in solo should actually tune the content to be soloable because it really feels like it doesn't, any defense missions as well feel impossible without a group but like Warframe, with a group it's basically just running through and everything melts in seconds.

My personal dislike is the fact you are unable to paint the "base" version of the character, pushing you to either purchase skins or figure out how to unlock their 1 free version so that you can begin colouring them! Otherwise having an absolute blast, especially with the difficulty ramping up in the 3rd zone onwards!

Im 35, dont like searching through my library for hours trying to find somthing to play. I got cash if i need but so far ive only purchased the battle pass and i love the game. When in doubt i can just hop in and play with my friends on all consoles. Alot of the hating may just be broke and salty people. Play somthing else , not every game is for everybody.

For me who’s played the best grinding games like Borderlands 2, Warframe or even Destiny, The First Descendant doesn’t stack up. The mission design is so boring. I was just trying to get through the story to learn the game and after 5 hours I’m still doing the same 5 or so objectives with almost no variety. Not even Destiny 1’s original story was this bland. I also just quit caring about the loot and would just choose the highest number. Yeah, in looter shooters you don’t keep early stuff very long, but it’s just too fast. Doing bland and boring stuff can be fun if the gameplay loop masks it, but I just don’t think it’s good enough right now. There’s moments where it clicks and feels great, but those are few and far between, at least for me.

Play sell you a color palette that you can add to your color palette for customization but if you get some basic colors for free and then you have to buy the good colors are in color pallets that you have to buy. I don’t know what they cost but still no, but I’m sure the developers and publishers and the people who decided how to monetize the game, I’m sure they’ll listen to your advice and shuffle things around. I’m not sure they will because what you’re talking about is entitlement the concept of buying a color and using it once I find that also don’t care because I would never spend $.50 to buy a color and something like that in a castle or a PP game

I'd buy this game if it cost like $20-$30. I like looter shooters. This is like a destiny/war frame. A lot of the stuff is for convenience so if they didn't sell it you'd have to grind it and it's not pvp so either they charge you and people complain about the grind or its free with convenience and people cry anyways. It's free so unless your in dialup or have super limited data then try it out 🤷‍♂️ not a bit debate lol

The game have lot of potential , but also you can get Valby, Gley and ultimate Bunny fast, i have almost all comments to research them. The if you know what to do you can level every descent fast in around 30 minutes to an hour for the people that think tha some descent are not for the early game. Game need some special events were you can get Caliber ( paid currency) so you can buy at least some common skins for your descendants . Game need to explain how to mastery level properly because one you max a descendants you stop gaining mastery level. Also for the season pass you can get some of the things for free , even the Ultimate weapon. The most important thing is know how to farm de season pass doing daily , weekly and season challenges , you level up really fast if you know what to do

Tried this game last night, only got maybe an hour in and when I saw the pricing for descendants and the ultimate versions I was turned off… an ultimate character is a price of a game and there is a pack that equals the price of a ultimate edition of a game… so with pricing this predatory I am definitely gunna wait and see… k have no idea if the end game is even good.

I have no problem with the microtransactions. Mainly because I don't purchase anything. This is a free-to-play game. And it will stay that way in my eyes. On top of the fact that everything is stupid expensive. I don't see a point in paying so much money for something that does nothing for me in game. Probably no legitimate reason to not play this game if you enjoyed or frame and even destiny or outriders or anthem if you enjoy loot and cramping this game fits in all those categories. You can lose weapons and use them something. You’re not gonna get without cramping I think, but you can lose weapons and use them, all your modules and apply them to your character. You can earn all the pets to make a new character and there’s everything involved in all of those mechanics so they mechanic so looting and graphing and none of it spend money unless you want to bring by the way the same way when you go to cramp something takes a while if you want to speed it up you go to cash shop and buy an item to speed up your crafting, it’s the same as war. I suspect that makes that item cost more than nine central extreme size but so fucking white not able to play right at the moment and when I get home, I will have an item sitting there all finished for me because I started the crafting And it’ll be done by the time I get back crafting goes on whether you’re locked in or not in both war frame and in the first descendants so why send money direct but I craft it just throw it in there and go back to playing the game or general go eat dinner or whatever go sleep come back the next day or it will be ready

If you need to spend two hours a day on a battle pass then that's the problem with the battle pass. If that's standard practice then that's the problem with ALL of the battle passes.

Depending on how fast and how well you complete the battle pass challenges, it could take more, a lot more. You don't level the BP just by playing, only through challenges.

@@vewyscawymonsta My only experience with this stuff is through Fallout 76. Those challenges can be done in between 10 to 20 minutes per day. If I estimate that it will take longer, I reroll challenges or just don't do them. I'm glad to hear testimony about the reality of what's out there. I skipped Warframe, because it looked pointlessly grindy. I think I'll pass on this game too if it's the same.
