Hey there Steve! Hi from chilly Clearwater FL where its in the low 40s! Haha dont laugh at me ! We are whimps down here . Ok moving on.... Yet another great video! I love iflight drones also. I wish i had more real estate to fly the larger drones. I usually enjoy 2.5 and 3.5 drones. I am really excited to check out the O4 in lower light. It looks like it performs much better than the o3 in low light. 😊 Thanks again Steve

I planned on using the remote controller 2 with my integra goggles. Do you think the controller would be the limiting factor here? I was hoping it would do as good as the video. 15km. Should i use 1 of my long range receivers? I have a nomad module and the Gemini crossband modules. Got a DBR4 here that needs used 😉 great review man 😁 keep em coming

You should be looking for an RTF FPV Kit (READY TO FLY FPV KIT). Those kits are between $100 and $350 US and have everything you need in the box (drone, goggles, remote, batteries, etc). They are all designed for first time pilots to the FPV Hobby. Certainly you need skills to fly, but this is how people learn the FPV Hobby before moving onto the expensive stuff. I have reviewed every RTF FPV Kit on the market, and they are all on this channel.

I am not sure whether the PNP version is better than the ELRS version. I ask this question because my area is full of tall trees and forests. BTW, with my DJI Mavic 3 Cine and RC Pro, I can reach more than 6km before RTH was activated in my area. I hope this new O4 version can do the same. But, which one, PNP or ELRS, is better? Thanks.
@CAPTAINDRONE79814 күн бұрын
PNP is DJI, ELRS and CROSSFIRE are not DJI, so obviously they are better since they are designed for range. You ONLY GET DJI PNP if you own the REMOTE 2 or REMOTE 3.
@ckshene721211 күн бұрын
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Well, the issue I have been having since moved to ELRS is that some ELRS FPV drones which were paired with a ELRS V3.x.x radio (e.g., RadioMaster TX12 ELRS) failed to re-pair with a new ELRS V3.x.x capable radio (e.g., RadioMaster Boxer). This is a very annoy problem with the ELRS system. On the other hand, my DJI PNP option never failed, although I need to repair my radio and goggles every time when I switch drones. Additionally, when I tried to move all of my FPV drones from the Boxer to a new TX16s MK II ELRS, I cannot simply copy the SD card from my Boxer to TX16s MK II because the color version is different from the BW version. This illustrates that the ELRS development team forgot a very important issue, cross-platform compatibility. So, I decided to stay with the DJI/PNP system to minimize the potential issues. In my woody and hilly area, the ELRS system does not show better to much better performance in terms of distance than the DJI/PNP system. Thank you anyway for your reply.

@CAPTAINDRONE79816 күн бұрын
@@foo-fyter From experience I have found that people who come from the DJI world (this includes me) have a super hard time adapting to the non-DJI world. The FPV Hobby is pretty much NON-DJI and DJI had to conform to the FPV world with their new 03 Air and new 04 Air products. All I can say is this… If you can fly the DJI AVATA in MANUAL mode with no problems, then you are ready for the FPV Hobby, and can fly any FPV drone on the market. If you watch my video CAPTAIN DRONE FPV FOR BEGINNERS EPISODE 12 you’ll see what you must do and know to jump over to the FPV Hobby from the DJI AVATA 2. My advice would be to get yourself a 3” quad with prop guards. Many are going to be released in February using the new 04 system.

@CAPTAINDRONE79815 күн бұрын
Two things to be aware of: iFlight is part of DJI and DJI only makes drones for beginners, so iFlight makes their FPV drones for beginners by setting them up out of the box in ANGLE mode. Also when flown in ACRO mode (known as MANUAL mode to the DJI World) the drone is very tame. But I agree it is insane, and as I mentioned in the video, very few beginners would buy an FPV Drone this size since it could be extremely dangerous.

@CAPTAINDRONE79816 күн бұрын
It is an FPV drone. I’m guessing you are from the GPS Camera Drone world where those drone have Gimbals and are designed to fly by first time pilots straight out of the box. FPV is very different. If you watch Hollywood movies and see action scenes indoors or outdoors, those are filmed by FPV drones, as well as most car commercials of cars driving down roads, or reality TV shows where there is action.
@7MPhonemicEnglish16 күн бұрын
@CAPTAINDRONE798 last I knew, Hollywood used huge Octocopters with big professional cameras on them with one person flying the drones and another operating the camera with full pan & tilt control. This seems more like a race or sport quad that is less racy and more cammy. Seems pretty niche to me.
@CAPTAINDRONE79816 күн бұрын
@@7MPhonemicEnglishYes, those are in use but not for action filming. Since this all seems new to you, my suggestion is to watch any of a thousand behind the scenes Hollywood action movie making videos on KZbin. Also, if you want to expand your skills, give FPV drones a try. Skilled piloting skills are needed for FPV, but like me, it is possible to learn skills at an old age. I started back in 2013 with the beginner DJI drones that people still fly today (usually everyone’s first drone), then seven years later I taught myself how to pilot an FPV Drone, then I taught myself helicopter skills and finally RC Plane skills.
