I drove a cab for years. Once, a guy got in my cab and said, "I'm late for the my flight, I need to get to the airport, can you please drive as fast as you can!" I had waited for many years to hear those words. Halfway through the trip, he said it was okay if he missed his flight, and I could slow down if I wanted. He looked terrified. I backed off the throttle a bit. No problems, he made his flight.

I drove a taxi for 2 years a long time ago. I think he missed a lot of the actual jokes. It should have been like 'get in my car you big drunk idiot'. The phone call thing and the radio stations was good. I had passengers tell me way more personal information than I ever wanted to know. They told me about their small penis or that the purpose of the trip was to buy crack. A call girl asked me to wait for her like I was her pimp. Taxi drivers in my experience are always the best, and at the same time the craziest drivers on earth. I'll have a guy drive through the traffic with unhuman precision and reflexes, going from top speed to a full stop in less than a second, driving with one hand out the window and holding a cigarette, the other hand using the phone and talking at the loudest possible tone, while at the same time turning his had to the back seat, asking "How we doin back there?" Man those guys are good

My college has a ride share service you can call and they’ll take you anywhere within 2 miles of campus. Got sent to the ups store to ship a package and come to find out they were booked until 9pm. Mind you I’m visually impaired and unfamiliar with the city, and have no friends yet. A few panicked calls and google searches later and called a cab. Nicest man I ever met. Gave him a $5 tip for saving my ass. He was really grateful for the tip.

Actually I think it was a thing before cars existed. Back in the day, only rich families could afford a personal driver for their wagon. What if one of those families was like "we dont need the wagon that often, but were facing hard times. Have the driver offer rides to the public for a fee." The trust would come from the family's reputation and all that.

Thought there was going to be some joke about the driver taking him to a “cabin” and then that somehow segways into “cab”. “Y’know, maybe you need to get somewhere nice like a Resteraunt, the theater, or my cabbbbbin” This is why I’m not making sketch videos 😅. Hilarious as always Ryan! The “fare” part was better than great! And the ad was funny too. I really appreciate the lengths you go to to make ads bearable

Takes me back to somewhat ten years ago when I was out clubbing every weekend. Took a lot of cabs and honestly sometimes the conversations I had with the drivers were absolutely unique. Since I live in Munich they all could share the most absurd stories they've experienced when Octoberfest is in town. You wouldn't believe some of the stuff they told me.
