I was dragged to night clubs in three different cities in my 20s, and never enjoyed a single one. Sticky floors, zero conversation, undignified desperation in the way people were trying to show off for each other, the line outside, the pretence at being important enough for people to wait to get in, pay to get in, get approved or rejected by the door guy... just the whole thing always rubbed me the wrong way. I like pubs and coffee shops and chill bars. Places where you can get some food as well as a drink, where you can hear people talk, and where there's something to do, like darts or pool or a pub quiz or karaoke or something.

This video perfectly encapsulated exactly how I've felt about clubs literally since the first time I ever went to 1 as a new adult lol (unfortunately random life circumstances like having friends forced me to be in several others at least a handful more times after that, and my feeling only got more cemented each time lol)

for introverts it's both the worst and the best : if you're not gonna dance in public (which you won't obviously) it's incredibly boring, but on the other hand nobody's gonna try to interact with you if you stay in a corner since it's so badly lit you'll be invisible
@ThreadBomb11 ай бұрын
I don't think it's a problem for an introvert as there's barely any social interaction involved. You just get your drink and hang out crowd-watching; maybe have a little dance by yourself after the alcohol kicks in, no one will care.
@mrnice443411 ай бұрын
Well that is the reason alcohol was invented :)

As an introvert that loves to dance at clubs it is great. Music is too loud to talk much.

I'm 35 and I've never considered going to a club. A confined space with limited exit points, loud noise, and low visibility packed with people consuming various mood altering substances. For the life of me, I don't see how that strikes anyone as a recipe for a good time.

Shootouts in nightclubs happen occasionally in real life too. Last year a local mobster in my home town was shot to death by a bouncer after pulling a gun in the middle of the club and threatening someone.

I took a girl that I liked to a nightclub once so we could hang out and drink together maybe do some dancing and she immediately got hit on by a stranger and abandoned me. I waited around for 20 minutes like an idiot and then left. Never went back. She also slept with him and 2 friends that night, so I immediately lost all respect for her or any woman that goes to clubs. Hard lesson to learn, but one I'm glad I got out of the way early.
